Morning Doug! What a lovely bloom on desvoeuxensis and so glad you finally bloomed vitiensis! I admire your patience! Love the trellis too... such an easy design. I remember the video you made describing it. Hope you're staying warm... 19 here. We went directly from summer into winter with temps in the single digits, now with 2' of snow on the ground. It's so beautiful tho when my Hoyas are blooming in the winter, the contrast of the snow in the background... it is so pretty. Have a great day, off to work! .💚
Hi Carol, thank you for the nice comment. It sounds like it you have way more winter there than we currently do. We only have about 2 inches of snow with temps currently in the mid-20s. It is really nice having all of this tropical greenery growing in the house when it is so cold outside. Happy holidays to you and all the best for a happy and healthy new year!
That plant is so sad that you're disappointed in it. Here it is, growing, happy, singing and humming a happy tune, pushing out flowers it's so proud of, and all you have to say is you're disappointed? Now go apologize ;-) Stay well and keep these videos coming.
Thank you Lynda! I think that I need to make an auxiliary Hall of Shame as it looks like I have a number of new candidates that will be able to move right in.
That is what is so funny; here I thought that H. desvoeuxensis was nearly impossible to flower when in reality it was this color form of vitiensis that was so difficult! It turns out that H. desvoeuxensis flowers quickly and easily.
Hm! i have vitiensis yellow. It grows heaps but no flowers. Will move it outside. My has super small and not so good looking leaves . I am nowadays will try to only keep good looking foliage inside my unit due to limited space available. Nowadays, they are so many to choose from in Australia (nothing comparing to oversea of course) and prices are good so can be more selective of what to have. Hehehe
I finally got rid of this one for two reasons: I resented it for not being the desvoeuxensis that I so wanted to flower and it was not a good grower at all; also a real bear to bring it into flower.
@@DougChamberlainVTHoyas with my limited space, I need to just keep what I want and not too many hehehe . Hm I guess i went through adolescent Hoya grower, now I am in a mature stage hehehe time to specialise. Can’t just get anything. I wasn’t before but more so now
No wonder you were disappointed with the first one compared to the the other one. I thought I turned on the notification for your eBay store to buy your cuttings but I don’t think I ever got the notification. Or is there another way to know when you are selling?

😄Thanks William, you made me laugh out loud!
It may have been an initial disappointment but now you've bloomed both! So satisfying to see so many blooms on a stubborn hoya☺️
Thank you Alexandra!
For those of us that have just begun our Hoya journey to have any blooms would make us ecstatic.
I love the term Hoya Journey, because that is exactly what it is💚
Absolutely! I am thrilled when any of my hoyas bloom 😂
I’d hate to see what my Hall of Shame would look like!! Like a scroll! This is a great video Doug! Two totally gorgeous plants! Thank you!

😊Sounds like finally happened pretty quickly once you obtained the correct plant 😊

There is really no other way. Keep in mind that I only sell from around the middle of April to the middle of September.
