In my 2018 Honda Civic LX, I was having a problem with a blank screen when using the radio. All it would show is the clock but I wanted to be able to see radio information while driving. The only time it would show the station is when I press a preset button. To fix this, the first thing to check is to start with pressing the Menu button and then scroll to select Settings. Now go to Display Change. In this menu make sure that the Audio setting is highlighted. The other option is Wallpaper but don't choose that one. This is the first thing should be checked.
But when I exit out of the Settings, I see that my screen is still black like it was before. Nothing has changed. Again, I can only see the radio station display when I press a radio preset button. So the next thing to try is toggle the Day Night display button at the top left of the radio. And now I can get the radio to display what I want to see.
This button can dim the screen for night driving or turn it off by leaving a blank screen except for the clock. So using this button I can toggle between the three light settings. I definitely like seeing the radio display but I can quickly adjust the brightness when needed.
So the recap, check to see that the radio is set to display audio information. And then check the Day Night toggle button at the top left of the radio to get the screen to always show information on the screen. I have a similar model google maps does not display on the screen… is there anything that can be done to get google maps or navigation to display on the screen? Honda states that you have to go up a model to get those basic necessities.

My unit isn’t playing any audio or reading any devices. Is there a trouble shoot method?
I have a 2016 Honda Fit. After dead battery, the infotainment screen is black! I can't get it to turn on! I've tried everything.
Hopefully you got your radio in your Civic to work again. Some things I heard is that I might resolve itself in a few hours or overnight. Some have said to disconnect the battery then reattach it again. Or you can pull the radio fuse with the same result. That’s all I can offer to help. Again hope you got it working again!
What about, I have issue when I have to answer my phone and I select answer, I lose the use of my radio. Its dead to me. Then I have to turn it off and turn it on again.
Sometimes I answer it , it doesn't connect to my speakers, any suggestions

What about the problem with the informant freezing when taking calls? I have a 2019 civic with the same informant center as you. It just freezes when taking calls, then can't switch back to Audio.
I tried finding anything, even on the TSB, and so far nothing.
How do I cut on the display lights for all of the other buttons in the car? For example at night time the radio is fine but there are no lights for like the AC button or anything else on the display
