My 2017 Honda civic EX model display is having lines. touch is still working but not able to view the content. some times the content is visible with less lines. but most times, am seeing only lines. screen is not damaged. Replacing just this touch screen will resolve this issue or should I replace the entire display screen. Thanks for the help.
@anwerelsabbagh8275 I recently bought a new display unit from Honda itself, it costs around 760 before tax plus shipping. But am thinking of getting just a display panel online and try to replace it in my old display unit to see if that works. And can use that old one in future in case this new get any problem. But for now I bought a brand new one without any other options
Awesome explanation guys! Thanks. Mine was a little different, I actually put my fist through it and it went haywire ever since (volume would change on it's own, AC on/off, everything!) When I removed the the glass pane, it was still going crazy. Would that mean that unlike you, my situation would require a new LCD as well? It seems slighty indentend at the bottom, I'm referring to the metal frame where you removed the glue ( at 18:59 time). Any advice would be awesome!
Just had the same issue where my screen cracked but the display is working properly however I can’t do anything with it because the screen is cracked. Were you guys told that the specific screen with that larger chip for the touring models are available anywhere for purchase separately? I was just quoted from the dealer that I’d have to buy the whole display unit which was a little over $1000
I got a piece of dust under my head unit screen and it's driving me nuts. I watch netflix on mine. I need to figure out how to remove the screen and get the dust out
Do you know the difference between an SL01 and an SL02 screen? You linked an SL01, and another guide said to buy an SL02. I just want to be sure I get the correct one. Thanks!
I don’t know how this is glass. My stock 2018 touring radio has what looks like a plastic digitizer that when I slide my fingers on it feels like a paper feel screen protector but it’s flexible and not glass. I don’t know how yours is glass.
Thank you both so much, you saved me $1000! Worked great on my 2017 EX-T hatchback!
Glad it helped!
This video was very helpful. I was able to get it working with the small chip on the replacement, the largee chip was on the factory stereo.
