    Same issue. My c5 clutch won't return sometimes. Spring looks interesting might try it. Thanks for video and info

      The return spring was one of the first things I tried. In the end however, it never really fixed the problem. The real solution was a new clutch. I actually removed the return spring and sold it after getting the new clutch. Then again, the return spring is much cheaper to try than the clutch. Best of luck!

    Pricey for a spring and a small bracket, but a lot cheaper then a master or slave cylinder. It sure solved ALL my C5 Corvette clutch return problems. Adds a little bit of force to the clutch pedal, but not a big deal.

      Great to hear this helped your clutch issues. For me, my clutch issues didn't go away until I replaced the clutch.

      You really paid $80 for a spring??? Did you replace the stock spring first?? Springs have an estimated lifespan of a certain amount of cycles and our cars are 20 or so years old now and I am pretty sure that number was hit a while ago for most. Especially if youve bled the clutch using the Ranger method at all... Just saying Replace the stock spring($9) and see the difference before getting ripped off for a $3 spring sold at $80..

      @@J.Sanity that's where the problem is.....Chevy doesn't use a clutch return spring from the factory on the C5

      Happy to help. Definitely report back on your results. Long term the return spring never really solved my issues with the clutch pedal sticking to the floor. It wasn't until I upgraded the clutch that the problems went away.

    I have same problem .going to install spring

      You can try and see if it helps. It is certainly cheaper than replacing the clutch, though that is the likely final solution. I removed the LPE spring after I installed my new clutch.

    My 2002 Nissan Frontier is doing the same thing, I've changed the Master cylinder and Slave cylinder and I've bled all of the air out of my lines and I'm still having clutch return issues, so I might replace my OEM spring and see if that works, but any tips or I deas would be helpful

    Wow that’s the best fix someone came up with? A long ass spring stretches across the length of the dashboard?

    Nice addition, Scruf would you recommend this kit? I'm looking to do one one of these spring kit to my C6.

      Brandon Floyd Is it a quality piece? Yes. Did it solve my clutch problem? No. So I think it depends on what your goal is? Are you having the same loss of clutch pedal pressure? If that's the case, then I'd say save your money and put it towards a new clutch.

      Hey Scruf, no clutch issues at this time. I'm piecing together a clutch swap, I have the slave and master so when I have issues I just get the clutch of choice. Thanks for the reply.

    Any update? Same problem here...tick performance says bleed again

      While my is engine out for a rebuild, I'm installing a Monster clutch, light weight flywheel and a new slave cylinder. At that point, I'll probably remove the LPE spring kit. I'll do a video on those items and hopefully update with good news that all my clutch problems are history.

    All you need to do is remove the factory spring and install the tick master. You don't need this spring.

      Agree, as mentioned at the end of the video after I did a track day, the spring did not resolve my clutch issues. I already had the Tick clutch master cylinder, which had not fixed my issue either. So the spring was a cheap option to try. Ultimately, the issues finally went away when I installed a Monster stage 2 clutch, and a new slave cylinder (I also installed a remote slave bleeder line, which I highly recommend).

    Did you end up replace the clutch and the slave?

    • @ScrufsGarage
      @ScrufsGarage  8 років тому

      steve2003Z not yet, the clutch and slave will be this winter, trying to finish out the season. Was hoping the clutch master cylinder or return spring would solve it. No such luck.

      Yeah, I'm fighting the same issue on my 03z.

      steve2003Z stock clutch? Any engine mods? Most people seem to run into this issue after adding power, like a cam.

      Scruf's Garage Only cold air intake, and 25% underdrive balancer. Yes stock clutch

    Looks like some hillbilly engineering for $80. What's wrong with the OEM spring - aside from mine having broke a couple of years ago. It still returns, but the last 1/4 inch leaves enough play that cruise control wont engage unless I put my foot behind the pedal and manually pull it back that tiny distance.

    • @ScrufsGarage
      @ScrufsGarage  3 роки тому

      These cars have an issue, typically after you've added more hp, that after multiple hard shifts, the clutch pedal sticks to the floor and you can't shift. So the goal with the LPE Spring is to pull the clutch pedal back up. Ultimately this spring did not solve that problem for me, and so after I installed my upgraded clutch, I removed the spring.

  • @J.Sanity

    Did you replace the stock spring??? I know these guys sent you this kit for free but honestly you shouldnt promote this nonsense.. Who TF buys a spring... A SPRING !!!! For $80...They try to hype it by calling it a "kit"....Please! Its a spring and a ziptie!!! Lingenfelter is wrong for this!!!

    • @ScrufsGarage
      @ScrufsGarage  3 роки тому +1

      I'm not promoting anything. I paid for the part with my own money. As I explained in the video, I was having issues with the clutch pedal sticking to the floor after repeated hard shifts at the race track. I had already replaced the clutch master cylinder, and this was the next item to try. The video is to share my experience with it. And as I posted at the end of the video, after my next track day, I found that this still did not solve my clutch pedal issue. Ultimately, the problem did not go away until I upgraded the clutch, at which point I removed the LPE return spring.

      I think $80 too expensive. $40 would make sense. You could probably make on for $20
