  • Hey guys, we are in Jalapão, Brazil, a place that is still relatively unknown and a hidden gem (although it is up and coming, and people are hearing about it now. Jalapão is in the state of Tocantins, Brazil. It is known for dramatic landscapes with orange sand dunes, towering rock formations, crystal blue waters, lagoons, fervedouros, and more. This is Part 2 of a 6-part series of videos from Jalapão. Today we go to the a natural but overwhlemingly stunning canyon and some sand dunes that are out of this world. Jalapão might be the best looking plac in Brazil....Maybe. This is the Jalapão Brazil Travel Vlog. Part 2.

      @@TheTravelbum Now that you are traveling through various regions of Brazil, you could see that Brazil takes very good care of its environment and that it does its best to preserve its nature and showing how the media lies when it says otherwise.
      Brazilian law requires all landowners to preserve at least 20% of the native vegetation on their property, which is called the Legal Reserve (percentage that varies from region to region). These so-called Legal Reserves serve as a refuge for animals, where animals can move from one legal reserve to another using "corridors" between them, passing through the plantations.
      According to this link: www.ciflorestas.com.br/cartilha/reserva-legal_qual-deve-ser-o-tamanho-da-reserva-legal.html
      The Legal Reserve represents a percentage of the property that must be maintained with native vegetation, being restricted to use. The amount of area that should be allocated to the Legal Reserve varies according to the geographical location of the rural property and the biome in it.
      Property located in the Legal Amazon:
      80% (eighty percent), in the property located in an area of forests;
      35% (thirty-five percent), in the property located in the cerrado area;
      20% (twenty percent), in the property located in the general fields area.
      Property located in other regions of the country:
      20% (twenty percent).
      The Legal Amazon comprises “the States of Acre, Pará, Amazonas, Roraima, Rondônia, Amapá and Mato Grosso and the regions located to the north of the 13 ° S parallel, of the States of Tocantins and Goiás, and to the west of the 44 ° W meridian , from the State of Maranhão ”.

He said that each jaguar of each biome has a variation. The jaguars of the Pantanal are the largest and strongest, followed by the jaguars of the cerrado (Tocantins has 90% of its territory composed of cerrado) and the jaguars of the Amazon are smaller than the first two I mentioned.

    To see all the natural beauty of Brazil, I think that 7 years of traveling continues without stopping, you can see 90% of its natural beauty. is a country of eight and a half million square kilometers. There are thousands of natural places to see. 20% of the planet's fresh water is here and the country can expose food to 4 billion people if there were no trade barriers against Brazil. Brazil still has 200 million hectares in the center of the country available for agriculture that have not been used yet.

    From what we see in the books on ancient Egypt, I think it should look like this scenario, with more vegetation between the dunes ... it is another unique place, but one that resembles other places in the world!

    You are doing very well as explorers in Brazil. I thought I knew the beauties of Brazil, but Jalapão surprised me. Now I'm going to have to do like you, save a lot of money and spend a season in these places.

    The northern region (where the state of Pará and the state of Tocantis also belongs) is the most preserved in the country, largest in size and probably the newest by known locations. There is a lot of beauty and natural wealth that if you know the states you will be surprised even more and find in all the states of Brazil, not to mention other beautiful areas that the residents themselves do not know (There are states with almost or more than 90% preserved, states larger than countries in Europe) not so publicized for not having a large population like São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, also for many times the economy directed and applied more to these regions, mainly in the previous administrations in the country.

A tip for you, finish the next videos with some phrase in Portuguese 😁 and promise that when you leave Brazil that you will continue leaving the subtitles in Portuguese so that we can continue enjoying your travels. Thank you very much!
