I tried this thing, having my phone switched off as much as possible and it worked wonders. Another I started to keep my phone somewhere outta sight especially before sleeping, in order to eliminate the possiblity of scrolling over insta early in the morning
I made it so I have slight color and anytime I use my phone around people they say “what’s wrong with your phone” and like “why don’t you want color in your life” like I’m just tired of being on my phone leave me aline

Great advice ! thanks for sharing, I did a 30 days social media detox back in 2021 and didn't miss it so haven't been back in since, I enjoy the present with my husband and our two daughters daily.
i spend so many times on social media and i realize it's wasting my time for doing anything else. i'll try to limit my time on it by now. ur video encouraged me a lot thank youu
Heya Nika, great to see you backy☺ I think that FOMO is the most cruel thing when it comes to having social media detox. You just start worrying that you'll miss out on something important so you check your phone every few minutes. I'll try your tips and see how this works. Thanks and have a lovely weekend 😊
i deleted all my social media apps because this is my last semester of undergrad and I want my gpa to go up. I haven’t had the urge to re-download the apps or think about what i’m “missing.”
I am a content creator I use instagram 3 hours a day max and 5-7 hours shooting videos and designing on laptop i feel really depressed afterwards literally I got no energy to do sports or catch up with other people and get caught up with imposter syndrome. 3 years after lockdown I’ve been to 3 therapists I don’t know what is causing the depression but I know the minutes I open the screen I am not present just massively productive
As for me, I can’t really say social media (insta, tiktok) is bad cause i got advice there, tips and inspiration from others so i can’t fully let go. I should probably be aware spending less time and live more my life.
Okay i, to myself, promise that i’ll stop because : - it ruins my sleep schedule (which i don’t have-insomnia) - it ruins my focus/mental health - “ my life - my time, i spend too much time on it instead of doing what i want -increase my stress toooo much -ruins my productivity -… İ’ll try to challenge myself for real. İ’m not going to look another “detox and helpfull” video just to watch but apply what is good for improve myself.

Im not happy with it! All i do is soend my life on it soing nothing constructive...i just deactivated my fb temporarily. I have to focus and that is not it!

If it's a big distraction. It's up to you and what you're wanting. Questioning if what youre consuming is constructive and beneficial to your life will help determine what apps/networks are what you're needing a detox from.

I had to step away and live life. You forget how the world around you is without social media. It's refreshing.
i do have a no-phone saturday rule set for myself and it has an absolute game-changer.
You can also change the colors on your phone to black and white which completely takes away the dopamine hit of looking at your phone

This was a great and informative video.
For anyone interested in diving deeper into the topic, this is Cal Newport's methodology as laid out in his book "Digital Minimalism".
Smells like Bot comment.
