It is an interesting subject - I am looking forward to your series. I pretty much used to feel about the same way as you, until I saw one late one night. I was on my way home from work in the middle of a snowstorm. Decided to take the backroad (a two lane highway that doesn't get plowed) when a truck almost ran me off the road on the freeway. About half the drive was rural area, half was national forest with no houses or people. When I got to the national forest, there was no tire tracks and fairly deep snow so I had stopped and locked my truck into 4 wheel drive. I was making the first and only tracks through the snow on the road. About 5 miles into the national forest, as I was coming around a curve going down a hill - there was a figure on the road in front of me. About 8 ft tall, gray hair, it's back to me. Not a bear - I am a wildlife artist and have drawn and painted a Lot of bears. In addition to working at a bear sanctuary for a couple of years. I know bears. An eight foot man dressed in a hairy outfit in the middle of a snowstorm at 1am? Highly doubtful. Do Sasquatch exist? Sometimes I doubt my own experience and wonder if I was seeing things. But when it comes down to it - I saw what I saw

No Bigfoot sightings in the area, they have scared off by Elvis searching for a fried banana and peanut butter sandwich. I see him in deer season, he always waves.

This should be a cool series. Maybe you can show some signs such as tree structures and debunk them. There’s one that looks like a tree structure on the way to the Berks Highpoint along the AT. I took a picture of it and people I showed it to believed it could be a structure. But if you stop and look at it it’s just a tall tree that fell, snapped in half, and both parts of the tree leaned against another tree. Add an old rotten tree that fell to it and it’s easy to be fooled. It would be cool if you could see things like that and explain how it happened. I’m on the side that there could be something out there, never know.

Hi I just found your channel. I am a hunter and fisherman. I am 57 yrs old and I started hunting when I was 9 yrs old. I have been a guide and have hunted all over the US and I have never seen or heard anything in the woods that I didnt immediately know what it was. I never believed in bigfoot. 4 yrs ago I was one tag from limiting out for the year on deer so I decided to go and see if any green heads where going into the beaver ponds the split was on so I could hunt the ducks so was gonna try to fill my last tag if could. I slipped in down wind before daylight and set down in some brush. Right at day break I heard the sound of a deer hitting the creek and swimming across and heading straight toward the beaver pond and in a few minutes it stepped out and in east Texas we have antler restrictions. It was a nice buck but looking at its profile I couldn't tell how wide he was so I decided to let him cross the pond and when he gets to the other side I would get his attention and when he looked at me and if he was wide enough I would take him. He slowly crossed the pond and just as it got to the other side it stopped dead in it tracks and started looking off in the thicket and it slowly turned around to go back to where it had came. When he did I could tell he was legal so I slowly eased up my rifle and was almost on him with the crosshairs when all the sudden I hear two extremely loud wood knocks and that deer exploded into the air and hauled ass. I didn't even fire a shot at this point I'm focusing on where the wood knocks came from. Then I hear this deep growl and the thicket sounded like a heard of elephants where crashing it. I never saw it because it was so thick in there but could see the tops of saplings going down over the tops of the button willows as it ran through knocking them down and hit the water at the end of the pond around the corner in the slough. I just sat there with my mouth wide open trying to figure out what the hell just happened and maybe a little in shock. I know it wasn't a bear what ever it was was grabbing the saplings and crashing them down on each other. It was heading northwest and everything it broke and ripped up was facing southeast so what ever it was grabbed the saplings breaking them backwards. I wasn't scared but I did make a deliberate decision not to track this thing but sometimes I wish I would have. 50 plus years of staying in the woods and never having anything like that happen. I have even hunted the Pacific northwest and never saw or heard anything and come back to Louisiana and go hunting in east texas in the woods I grew up in and know like the back of my hand and this crazy thing happened to me. I know that I couldn't see it and nobody probably even cares everyone wants hear about sightings and I get it! I cant say it was a bigfoot but I damn sure can tell you what it wasn't. Well thats the only thing that has ever happened to me hope you enjoy my experience. Have great day

Really cool story. I sure do wish that you would have seen it. But, I do wonder what exactly it was, because I think that it would have had to be something big. But, I live in Texas also, so I don't think that it could have been a moose. Yet, without seeing it and having your actual observation, it is hard to know exactly what it was. Because, for me, I am still on-the-fence about Bigfoot, but I guess it's something that you won't believe until a person sees it themselves.

I'm in the camp of not ruling out anything. I won't say I believe, but I do believe some very experienced outdoorsman, hunters, guides, see something they can't explain. There are people who see something then turn their lives upside-down trying to prove what they saw. I had my own experience. Not a sighting, but a feeling of dread high up in the mountains camping. The fear sensation was so bad I kept a loaded gun next to me for the night. I never had that feeling before or since. It felt like something was going to burst out of the dark. It was a feeling that said get the hell out of here.

Food for thought, as you mentioned, perhaps Bigfoot does travel between different dimensions since it seems to be a phenomenon found on all the continents and all time periods known to man. Even the early colonists mentioned things about seeing Bigfoot type character.

I haven't seen one but one morning my husband and I started out a trail near Bedford and we heard a loud yell in the woods ahead of us. It didn't sound human, and we weren't sure what it was, so we hurried back to our car and left. We nervously laughed about maybe it was bigfoot, but now I'm really wondering....

This will be very interesting for me. This is basically exactly my own thoughts and experiences. It is exactly how i approach the subject and the type of adventuring I do.
I follow along with the stories, the lore and the believable first hand accounts and seek them out when given the chance.
I also think and feel the same way about the process of science and history.
I agree with your injection of humor and feel it makes a sometimes stale topic more interesting.
I found the story about the man who is going and proving that animals, plants and trees, etc. That have been listed as extinct, really are not.
Thanks for sharing the video. I watch very few videos that keep my attention...this one kept it for sure.
Good luck on your adventure. I will be following along.
We just spent 14 days in Tuscarora State Forest and we spent a lot of time just sitting at vistas and along trails. It was amazing the things we saw that we had never seen before. Sure it was mostly plants and bugs...but was cool all the same.

I grew up in Northern California and hiked the high Sierra's often. Driving home one night many years ago at twilight I came to a fairly long straight stretch of mountain road surrounded by old growth pines and noticed a dark shape on the side of the road hunched down about a hundred feet away or so. I thought it was a bear that found some road kill or something but as I got closer it stood up and just walked into the woods with arms swinging back and forth. I was more intrigued than anything as I have come face to face with bear and mountain lions and never felt fear. I only got the one glimpse of the creature and with the fading light and surrounding trees it wasn't totally clear, but the bipedal and arm swinging thing was obvious. I later looked on line and found a site for bigfoot and several reports were already listed for that particular area.
I hike the hills here a lot (near Uniontown) where there are a lot of sightings listed but never came across anything here in PA so far.

If bigfoot is on the east coast, Pennsylvania would definitely be a good place for them. So many stories out of there. If you go down the bigfoot rabbit hole, it gets real weird. There's more to them than just being an ape running around in the woods. Also, beware the orbs. Never follow them.

I definitely think theres things out there we don't know about in rural pa. Alleghany is 514,000 or so arces. Cooks forest is anther 8500 acres. That's alot of land for something to go unnoticed especially in the eastern US. Maybe Bigfoot is just a huge intervert who would rather be alone in the woods than around people. On a side note I also like to hear your thoughts on if thier mountain loins in PA. Heard those stories before to.

Great new series idea. I am looking forward to it. I don't really believe in Bigfoot, (here in my part of Ohio, we have The Grassman) but people ARE seeing and experiencing something without a doubt. As a Christian, I too believe in the Spirit World. After watching an episode of Les Stroud's Bigfoot series, where he talked to an Indian Elder, I am convinced that the Bigfoot stories and cryptid stories in general, are spiritual encounters. Be careful what you look for and open yourself up to, you just might find it! Or, it might find you!

I think I have told you this before, I have had two encounters and both were quite frightening to me. I do a lot of trail riding and my first interesting encounter was on the D+L trail near Rockport. I came across a tree that was across the trail. This nothing outside of normal. So, I stopped my bike, got off of it and was carrying my bike over the fallen tree when I heard another tree being ripped out of the ground and it was then thrown at me. It barely missed me, but I got the message. I never saw what did the ripping out or throwing, I just know that it was too large of tree for a normal person to do. It scared me so much that I was not sticking around to find out what did it. I did have a phone with me, but I was not getting it out to take pictures at the time. I got on my bike and got the hell out of there as fast as I could. I've run into bears and deer all the time...but I've never had them throw trees at me.
I also heard something down while on a hike at Cooper's Rock in West Virginia with my son. We heard a roar and a tree being broken (sounded large) while down in the Clay Furnace area that I will never forget. Again, nothing seen, just heard. But that also shook us up to the point where we did not want to meet whatever made that sound or broke that tree.
I think its a real creature, but with an extremely limited population. I believe they are intelligent, aware of us, and trying to avoid us as much as they can. Being in the same area as one is sort of like hitting the lottery and likely by accident. However like the lottery, the more you play, the better chance you have to encounter one. I also think they are migratory, not sticking to any one area for a long time (just passing through, at least in my section of Pennsylvania). So, it would still take a lot of luck.
I got upset when you did your prior video and commented. I was disappointed in it. My experiences were very real to me and not a joking matter at all. I appreciated a potentially more serious discussion on the matter. I hope you get to encounter one some day. You certainly have a higher chance than others.

Really great idea for a series. I believe that big foot probably exists, but most likely in fewer numbers today. Due to the sometimes violent nature of humans, the big foot population most likely avoid people as much as possible.

I had an experience in Berks county back in 2005 near Huffs Church. I was bowhunting in early October. I got into my treestand around 5am n could hear deer moving in the cornfield behind me. I then started to hear what sounded like talking in the distance. Thinking it was another hunter or a farmer I put it off. I could hear deer moving in the cornfield behind me. When I started hearing something walk up the far edge of the field. The deer started moving around stomping n snorting. When all of a sudden they bursted out the field behind me. Almost immediately after I heard what sounded like gibberish yelling and at one point it sounded like a baby trying to talk. It then began to walk my way. Once it got to about 20 feet from me it began to growl as it exhaled. It walked up behind me to about 10-12 feet from my stand. It was still growling as it exhaled but I knew I had to look at it. At this point I was terrified and had no idea what I would see. I turned to look at what was behind me and I could just see a large up right creature. It immediately took off up the mountain and down the ridge where it crossed the road right infront of a car. I could see the upright shadow run through the headlights. The sounds I heard it make sounded just like the Sierra Sounds.

I’m now in Florida and we have the Skunk Ape here. I would of never believed that they were here in Florida either. Lots of sightings in the Ocala National Forest and in the Everglades area.

We moved to PA from NJ over 25 years ago. Although we had woods & lots of farms we only ever saw chip monks & squirrels. Plenty of birds. There were deer but they had lots of land to roam so they ventured out onto the roads. Anywho, we move out here & it’s like Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom. Deer, fox, opossum, ground hogs, raccoon & beaver. Turkey Vultures too. My mom & I were driving up to Hellertown once & a coyote crossed of path. At the same time we said Chubracobra? 😂

i have had an experience once in the woods in schuylkill county. something large running just out of sight yet close. it ran rather frantically crashing through underbrush. dry dead leaves and sticks on the forest floor so it made a ton of noise. i repositioned myself to get a view of it and got even closer to the wood line to see deeper into the woods. whatever it was it was hiding either behind a large tree of witch there were a few or it was hiding behind a mound of rubble. it could not have left that spot without making a ton of noise so i know it was there. i decided not to approach any further and slowly backed away. there are many deer in the area and it was not a deer the sound of it was bipedal and heavy.

When you visited Armstrong County a couple months ago, you were a few miles away from a family campground that usually has an annual Bigfoot and UFO convention. Lots of vendors, family-friendly. I was impressed by the scholarly approach. Talking to exhibitors, I got the sense that they are tapping into the modern mindset of not belonging in nature. We still like to scare ourselves with things that go Bump in the night.

Coincidence or not,I don't know, but there's a UA-camr who's channel is (or 'was') named 'Randall's Relaxation' . He had one video specifically which I used to listen to a lot titled 'Night Sounds of the Allegheny National Forest'. In a later part of the video there is heard a clearly audible "Whoop' sound twice,if not three times. The UA-camr never mentions it but having lived in Pennsylvania (Beaver County, Pennsylvania) for the first 45 years of my life before moving to England in 2003, then I am very aware of nature sounds back home in the woods and mountains then I have NEVER heard any known creature, other than a Bigfoot, to make such a 'Whoop' noise as is heard on Randall's Relaxation video. I,personally, have never seen a Bigfoot but having lived on a farm nestled in an area of Pennsylvania with the shared border with Ohio and West Virginia then I am knowledgeable not just about farm animals but also wildlife so I KNOW that the sound on Randall's Relaxation is definitely not any known wild or domestic animal.

Hmmmmm Bigfoot, why not there is plenty of room for them. We have the Yowie in Australia. Apparently in the banana plantations they have claw marks and the top of the trees. My nephew worked there and he said the noises there are hideous. I def believe in them. It is said the Tasmanian tiger is extinct but it has been seen, thankfully deep in the forests. The Wallami Pine was found in the Hunter valley. Thankfully there was lots of seeds so now there is quite a few, really excited about that. Thanks so much for the share, please stay safe and take care

The most likely theory for Bigfoot as wild as it may sound is the "inter dimensional" theory. The idea that a huge primate could exist in North America undetected and continue to procreate and survive in a time of cameras, drones, trail cams, with all of the hunters, hikers, and campers, is highly problematic. However if a creature could appear and disappear through portals or passages somehow or had extra terrestrial abilities than that would explain a lot of the holes in the story. Count me in the catagory of super curious but skeptical, as well. I know what I just said will sound very crazy to some, but there is absolutely no doubt that us humans as a species have only scratched the surface of knowledge that is yet to be discovered in the universe. I very much enjoyed hearing your thoughts on the subject, Wandering Woodsman.
