My mama ate whatever she could during chemo, and if that meant we went out and got her a cheeseburger at that very moment, we went out and got her a dang cheeseburger so that she would eat. No judgement, whatsoever.
People love to give copious amounts of advice on what you should eat when you have cancer. I have seen it firsthand and it wasn't helpful for the patient. Eat what you want to eat and what makes you feel good! Chemo changes your tastes and cravings, and I am thrilled if you have a good appetite on chemo!
I know your comment is addressed to Romee, but from another cancer patient: THANK YOU! The cancer/chronic illness world needs more people like you, people who are not telling us what to eat/not eat or why it's our fault we're sick/not getting better. Again, sincerely thank you!

I have a friend who spends 45 minutes, every time we talk, telling me what to eat and where to buy it. Food is the last I want to talk about let alone eat 🤢
I agree with you 💯 after watching my mom battle Leukemia & lose her taste as well as her appetite. I'll never forget her saying "baby, eat whatever you want to eat because you don't ever want to experience not having an appetite or not being able to taste your food.'
So true. There are so many blaming people for getting the cancer they have, because of something they did or didn't do. Then you have other blaming them for not getting rid of the cancer once diagnosed because of of different things. Anyone can get cancer. I've seen people who eat extremely healthy, and exercise all the time get cancer etc etc etc, then you get people who eat fast food, Smoke, drink excessively live forever and never get cancer.
I wish you the best! You are so kind hearted and deserve everything in life you desire.

You’re doing awesome!!!!! From a mom and an ER, nurse you have no need to feel judged for what you eat. There are days I just eat cereal for dinner, you’re good.
Retired nurse here. I am also a cereal for dinner person! Lol, maybe it's the profession🤣🤣 and I am in total agreement eat what you want Especially on chemo.

If that second chemo is Cytoxin, I had that same reaction. My eyes would tear, my nose would burn, I got a severe headache and couldn't breathe through my nose. They slowed the drip for me too. BTW, congratulations on passing all your classes! Oh, and they should warn people about the red pee, because it freaked me out. It's also called xyclossophamide. The brand name is Cytoxin.

@@maxwalther8394 No problem. I know because OMG that feeling is indescribable. I had two of the same chemos she is on and Romee is a trooper. I remember sitting in the chair calling the nurse to slow the drip before my head exploded. It was so painful. I love Romee and hope she is done soon! 🧡 Be well.

I'm so happy to hear you passed your classes! So, I dont have cancer but I am going through a very painful health issue right now. I had a rough surgery Monday and was back at the ER last night from complications. I wish I could be as strong as you with what I'm facing. Thank you for being so inspirational for others. If you can go in to chemo knowing you have an allergic reaction, And face it head on, than you are superwoman! I can't wait to hear you say that your cancer is gone. So many people think they know so much about cancer & treatment. They mean well but it’s so frustrating to hear,the best anyone can do is quietly “be there” It used to drive me mad! You are amazing 💕

"I love hospital dinners" - said no one ever. UNTIL TODAY.
I ate really delicious food in italian hospital, they even asked if I prefer salmon or chicken and I was shocked
my hospital gave me amaaazing food while i was going through inpatient chemo! i’m talking like chipotle bowls and ice cream and brownies!
I’ve said it too, when I had to stay at the hospital, I was actually surprised at how tasty it was.
In my hospital (also the Netherlands), I got to choose from several options and portion sizes the day before. And there was a free snack area on each department to use in between meals. This was pre-covid, I don’t know how it is now of course.
My dad works in the kitchen of a Dutch hospital and they actually put a lot of time in the food here. They make it nutritional and try to make it as tasty as pssible (with the given time and money of course). I fortunately never had to try it but as I hear the stories it's quite alright.

Girllll its insane how hard you are working for your study. If I were you I would take it slow... A thesis is so stressful. But I also understand if this keeps u busy and distracted. Lots of respect for you how you are still performing so well in school while being sick. You go girl!!!
I get what you mean about swallowing pills once when I was in hospital they had to give me 100mg of I can’t remember what it was actually but the pharmacy only had 10mg capsules so I had to have 10 plus my other medications which came to 16 tablets I was in the adolescent room and some of the other teenagers laughed at my face when I saw the amount of pills I’m now a pro.
