I've watched so many videos , read so many forums and asked so many people and just could not understand or find out where that small check valve went to as the Saab we bought had it hanging venting to atmosphere . Thanks to you sir for this video!
Well presented. Also good illustration of the whole point of PCV- with the glove. I had not understood the significance of the P in positive crankase ventilation.
Could not have done the job without this video. Fills in the holes left by the directions. Thank you. My kit with the same part number didn't come with the small check valve, however.
Muchas gracias for this. I ordered the pcv update from eEuroparts and it DID NOT come with any instructions. I would have had to take it somewhere if I did not find this video. Thanks again. Hopefully this resolves the oil leak issue. I did not even know that there was a 'pcv update' for this '02 9-3 until I talked to a local SAAB mechanic and he recommended to do the update when doing the valve cover gasket.
I didn't even know this was even a thing! Been having hard starts on my 9-3. Got a mysterious hiss and oil residue over the engine cover... I gotta get me some surgical gloves and see if I'm erect or a flop.
Does a malfunctioning PCV mess up with oil level? My 9-5 b205 accused low oil level and I filled half a liter and it went to the top mark. The readings are unconstant. Also, the engine leaks from somewhere around the belt case
So I have a 2003 9-3 SE 2.0t convertible, engine- 205r, I did the rubber glove test, did not blow up, did the opposite, it sucked in the glove a little, is this normal? and how can I tell if the update has been done? Thanks!

Agree - this was the best video for this repair, bar none.
This is by far the best video about pcv system....Thanks sooo much
Thanks for this upload. It helped me in everyway! Even after 4 years it is doing it"s job! 😊
Underrated video for sure. I'm doing this in a few weeks to my 93 convertible se. Will use this as a perfect reference.

Excellent video!
Great instruction!!!
I was able to do this from the topside fairly easily after removing the oil dipstick tube .
Applies to both 9-3 and 9-5 prior to 2003. Great video.
