The vibe of the intros reflect what is going on at that point in the anime. Season 3 part 1 is chill because it's an arc where titans barely show up and there's more worldbuilding. Meanwhile in the Final Season there's a big shift in the story + a time skip, so the hype adventure openings wouldn't fit anymore.
In addition, Op 4 was about Historia's character and her becoming the Queen, where the scouts were basically in waiting, preparing for the reclamation of Wall Maria. Hypeness wouldn't fit much there
I wouldnt call Red Swan chill because the lyrics are sad and it focuses on conflict within the walls. Also certain parts you wont understand until you see the series finale.

These last 2 are just telling us how this show has developed. It's MUCH MORE than just slaying titans, it has a lot of symbolic and stuff. It's worth watching for sure.

My dislike is not about his take on the openings, but about talking without a single pause. Yes people need to talk in a reaction, but not a single person can talk and pay attention at the same time. He adresses this but takes the criticism that he got the wrong way and assumed he should not talk at all according to them. It just meant talk less and not nothing so he pays more attention. And he could just take a little more time and pause the video when he wants to say a little more.

The "vibe" makes a lot more sense if you know what's going on in the story. Anime opening often aren't so much about being good or bad song in isolation, but more about _fitting_ with the themes of the story arc. I'm guessing you'll appreciate some of them more if you get the context :)

Funny you would hate my favorite opening Red Swan but it is one of the most important openings to the story and the characters since it involves alot of reflection into the past which is a big clue to the mystery of the world
The last opening actually fits the tone of the final season. In a way the song is being told thru the mind of the main character and the season has alot of war,conflict, death, I get that scream metal isn't your cup of tea but trust me once you catch up to that part of the anime (if you do) I think the song will grow on at least visuals and lyrics wise.

Each opening perfectly encapsulates each season. Definitely gotta start watching if you want to get the true feeling of each one. The last two ones are actually my favorite ones because they just show such a sharp tonal shift in the show where everything goes down. This anime is not just a show, it’s an experience, and has already gone down as an all time classic. Sometimes I wish I could forget the entire thing and re-experience it again. It is a modern masterpiece
6 and 7 you will understand it after on the later episode. And the warship, zipline and the soldiers marching Yeah you will understand that too. It's like I won't spoil much but what if you live on a container but that container is a wall but after you open the container is open up another much bigger container yeah.
I’m a year late lmao so ur prob done with the anime but I have to say your rlly good at preserving the openings and seeing what’s up you def got the WAR opening correct and I understand how you feel about the softer more cuter opening but it’s very important that you so how much the characters went through emotionally, it really matters in the end. Season 3 has been great. Lots of back story and still great action throughout. As someone who had never seen the show i still stand by my reaction. That does nothing for someone who hasnt seen it at all.
Last opening (and ending) would hit very differently for people who followed the story to the end (i.e. manga readers). So yea it's natural to be a bit confused otherwise 😂 I think the use of heavy metal was actually pretty well received amongst the fans. It's not as hype as some of the earlier openings, but let's just say it's more appropriate. I think the producers were like "Pretty sure majority of fans have already read the manga by this point and knew the ending", so there was a lot of foreshadowing and spoilers in the imageries and lyrics used. Second last one was... really confusing even for AoT fans xD But idk why I find it kinda catchy and never skipped it when following that season.
What I love about the intros of AOT and most animes is they give emotions to set you up for the episodes and season or half a season you're about to watch. Like, the first intro sets the mood for nobel solders sacrificing for killing titans, which is what the first half is about. Then even with the latest one for the second half of the 4th season, it shows the chaos and havoc and rage introduced throughout the part

Of course you’re supposed to talk, but your commentary has to make sense/be necessary too, what you’re doing in the first half in the video is just saying the first thing that come to mind, you’re not critically commenting on music/animation or story, you’re talking and talking to the point where I’m not even sure which opening where on cause I haven’t heard a note of music in minutes, all to say something which is pretty much like “sitting there and going 😳😱😲”, just instead of doing faces you say all the words that pop into your head. So there’s good dude and a bad dude?” Like dude… It gets better when you come to season 3 Ops, you’re actually analyzing what you’re seeing and giving your opinion and interpretation of music and animation instead of cosplaying a subtitle caption for people that for some reason cannot see what is happening in the video right next to your head. No hate, just letting you know the first impression you’ve left on someone who passed through so you can draw your conclusions from that as you wish.
I had the same opinion as you about some of the openings, but after finishing the manga I absolutely love the first S3 opening. It holds much more value after you finish the story. :) Anyway, great video!
to clarify the confusion: s1 has two OPs (1,2), s2 is the Dinosaur one (3), s3 has two OPs as well (4,5) and same with s4: part 1 aired a year ago (6) and now part 2 is airing (7). The seasons are sometimes too long it has to be divided into parts, you know

To the average viewer, the show is a product among other shows and films. If the product affects u mentally/emotionally for u to give it respect sure. Respect is earned not given. He never said he doesnt respect the intro, only not showing respect within the context of the show.
If u asked him how the animation/art was im sure he wuld praise it.
It just sounds more like u demand more from him to a show u enjoy and less on the generalization of respect for an art form of a product.

The "vibe" makes a lot more sense if you know what's going on in the story. Anime opening often aren't so much about being good or bad song in isolation, but more about _fitting_ with the themes of the story arc. I'm guessing you'll appreciate some of them more if you get the context :)

Funny you would hate my favorite opening Red Swan but it is one of the most important openings to the story and the characters since it involves alot of reflection into the past which is a big clue to the mystery of the world

The last opening actually fits the tone of the final season. In a way the song is being told thru the mind of the main character and the season has alot of war,conflict, death, I get that scream metal isn't your cup of tea but trust me once you catch up to that part of the anime (if you do) I think the song will grow on at least visuals and lyrics wise.

Each opening perfectly encapsulates each season. Definitely gotta start watching if you want to get the true feeling of each one. The last two ones are actually my favorite ones because they just show such a sharp tonal shift in the show where everything goes down. This anime is not just a show, it’s an experience, and has already gone down as an all time classic. Sometimes I wish I could forget the entire thing and re-experience it again. It is a modern masterpiece

I’m a year late lmao so ur prob done with the anime but I have to say your rlly good at preserving the openings and seeing what’s up you def got the WAR opening correct and I understand how you feel about the softer more cuter opening but it’s very important that you so how much the characters went through emotionally, it really matters in the end. Season 3 has been great. Lots of back story and still great action throughout. As someone who had never seen the show i still stand by my reaction. That does nothing for someone who hasnt seen it at all.

Last opening (and ending) would hit very differently for people who followed the story to the end (i.e. manga readers). So yea it's natural to be a bit confused otherwise 😂 I think the use of heavy metal was actually pretty well received amongst the fans. It's not as hype as some of the earlier openings, but let's just say it's more appropriate. I think the producers were like "Pretty sure majority of fans have already read the manga by this point and knew the ending", so there was a lot of foreshadowing and spoilers in the imageries and lyrics used.
Second last one was... really confusing even for AoT fans xD But idk why I find it kinda catchy and never skipped it when following that season.
What I love about the intros of AOT and most animes is they give emotions to set you up for the episodes and season or half a season you're about to watch. Like, the first intro sets the mood for nobel solders sacrificing for killing titans, which is what the first half is about. Then even with the latest one for the second half of the 4th season, it shows the chaos and havoc and rage introduced throughout the part

You should do an updated reaction or fav op video after catching up with the series. Ik most people didn’t like the season 4 part 1 op when it first came out but most of them grew to love it after a few episodes into the season
