Very nice shot of the tour train waiting for the Arriva service to depart Aberdare.

Me and my eldest son are at the end of the platform in Caerphilly at around 8:46, you can see him waving, we happened to be passing and saw the rake of coaches from St Martins Road so we drove down to take a look 😊

I love that Mike I was there that day and i just appeared at 17:25 in the cream jumper! Not a sight we'll see again at Tower or Cwmbargoed. Richard

I RECOGNISE YOU NOW. I was the older guy with the camera at the other end of the platform. I'm now in my 80th year, without the beard, and still out and about, but much quieter now

@@TheMichaelWilcock2016Railways Yes I've seen you and your son many times over the years chasing trains. Not as much fun as it used to be.

Mike, do we know what the plans are for the line up to Cwmbargoed, please?

Yes, it's closed. The local Council enforced the closure of the open cast at Cwmbargoed last November. I recorded the final train, plus the extras from the yard ( clearance) So coal for British Steel Port Talbot is imported direct to their dock
