the problem with ragnarok games in the last 10 years is that theres alwasys a money mechanic that is even more predatory than anything nexon ever made. Literally no f2p progression after a point and the expenses needed (for MINIMUN results) have been at least a few thousands of dollars a month. Not sure if they finally changed their mind here.
It's kinda like that depending on how you want to look at it, the costumes you buy using diamonds (the currency bought with cash) are better than the stuff you can randomly obtain by a little bit (this gap might be bigger in the future but who knows). Other than that, people spending tons of money on this game will only benefit from being able to grind more for cards, etc. If you have 2 characters and anywhere close to a life, the amount of energy you get from having 2 characters and doing all the dailies is more than enough, I barely finish 1 and I play for a good hour or 2 sometimes.
Looks exactly the same to Dragonica (2010)
Gravity still abusing/profiteering of the dead corpse of Ragnarok Online instead of reviving it.

They destroyed these games with auto path and auto play… the mobile games aren’t even fun I don’t know why people continue to make these games oh wait let me guess money grab?
Yea the auto game sucks, But the attacks are also sucks. The atmosphere in the game is fun just a shame the combat sucks

A beautiful re-skin of Dragonica/Dragon Saga. Will check it out but games like these don't usually survive longer than a year or so :/

Ragnarok has all the recipes that people used to like in games and a already stablished title, but i can't understand why they keep recycling the same game with some things different here and there and a rebranding in the name when they really could flesh out a cool game with some time and have a real game for a lifespan better than half a year tops...
Because ragnarok already have a height in its name
I want another ragnarok battle offline type game personally, that was super cool.
People play new RO cause of it's honeymoon phase / venture capital where they give lots of freebies and the story isn't fully realized yet, and whales aren't too powerful / monopolizing yet, isn't it a coincidence after 6 months all their venture capital had dried up, and they starting to earn most of the profit from

God, Ragnarok OST never fails to make me feel nostalgic
The devs sells/gives Heroic cards directly to their friends and whales and they don't get banned. They just spam 300+ card combinations all day long. This pathetic excuse of a game doesn't deserve a single penny from you. Avoid and move on.
This is literally Dragonica (Dragon Saga) but reskinned with Ragnarok visual lmao (Dragonica is still a great game)

On the surface it looks like that. But dragonica was much faster - the combat required dodging constantly and felt more skill based. Like most mobile games this game looks much more diluted

The game concept of this one is kinda similar to Dragonica/DragonSaga 🤔
Minus the fun and grindy action combat that made Dragonica unique and fun. Unfortunately, Dragonica is dead since gpotato.eu lost it. The current state of the game on Steam is horrible :(
What's the point of a game if you just let the game play itself? I feel like the MMO genre has become just a cutscene you let run in the background while doing anything else.

messed up balance. eg) spear warrior is better than everything else. low population around 50 ish steady players. extremely toxic environment. ppl consistently swearing at each other over mvp in pinoy language. game only keeps getting harder so its not new player friendly. gacha is expensive and not worth. server is not stable daily disconnects. no ppl for lower lvl content. geffen is new. Bad pvp mode. there is nothing good about this game other than they make you pay to enjoy your nostalgia
Are the Droprates Like in the Original RO from 20 years ago. Can i make Money with solo leveling by Farming stuff or is IT again pay to win.

Origin is enough for me, Begins was driving me crazy. I hit a wall around level 35, upgrading slots quickly became cost prohibitive, crafting is pointless...
And who the hell designed the quest auto fight? Targets quest objective, good so far. 2 adds join your target, fine fine, your character kills the quest objective, and runs off to attack another one, leaving the adds currently pounding on him to chase him. You take your eye off the game for a minute, especially in a mob heavy area, and you're apt to return to a whole tribe of varmints chasing you around and killing you with a 1000 cuts.

This brings back memories. I admit the floor hitboxes reminds me of FFXIV though, probably because I've been playing nonstop, pft.
As a veteran RO player, I see this giving a nice, refreshing experience that actually attracts my attention, and that's considering Gravity has released other "updated" RO versions for quite a while.
I've killed millions of goblins, I think that's enough for a lifetime

and when you think about it, ToS was supposed to be the "spiritual" succesor to RO.
So for all the ToS fans out there. this might be just what you need.
I clicked on a random spot in the video, heard "it's 100% free", and immediately feel a sense of impending doom and a prelude to broken dreams.
