Told my wife that I went over some very rough railroad tracks! LOL! If she would have found out it was because of my system, she would have been really mad!
What size ports are in that box. and what kind of box you recommend for 8 Americanbass xfl 12s in a 2002 chevy surburban. and am using a taramp 14.2 amp. do I need more power or less. and am using northstar batteries 2 400s and 1 group 31.
No Wall in car audio is refereed to as a system that isn't walled off or in other words you can see behind the vehicle to the back glass visibly without a wall or subs behind you. Thanks for being a subscriber Kevonte!
Most amps rate their power at 1ohm. The lower the ohms the higher the power in a perfect world. When you strap two amps it also splits the load between the two so if you have 2 D4 subs you'll be at 1ohm If then strap another amp you'll be at 0.5 ohm. He doesn't specify but he could have his subs wired down to 0.5 then the amps being strapped so 0.25. Otherwise he just has each amp at 0.25 which would mean the subs are dual 2ohms so each set of 4 wires down to 0.25. He's not actually seeing 0.25 ohms while playing because of impedence rise though but being wired that low helps keep the rise at a minimum
1 subwoofer is always simpler so 1 15", but if you did 1 15" vs. 2 12" of the SAME subwoofer on same power in an optimal box the 2 12s would outdo the 1 15 as long as the box is built right. Goodluck man and thanks for being a daily subscriber.
I run 2 AB d2 12" subs parrelel wired to .5ohm with 2 Audiopipe Apcl1500.1ds (big d wiz Dyno's 1 of these amps at .5ohm, burst it made over 4k) strapped to .25ohm before rise, etc. In a '11 Subaru STI on stock elec. My cars "16v" lithium is in reality actually large BMW AGM Batt and min plumbing. On a 40-52hz Track I will see as low as 12.4v. No idea what it clamps/db at, been curious what it would do.
@@johnvancamp1576 two 2 ohm dvc can drop to half ohm, not 0.25ohm. Google 'Subwoofer Wiring Diagram" and look for 2 DVC subs wiring. NOW if you strapped 2 amps at 0.5 ohm, then it would be 0.25 ohm per amplifier. Thanks for watching!
JacobViral actually it's about . 38ohm to each amp. I am familiar with Ohm's law, hence why I said on 2 amps ofcourse. Currently I am running two American Bass HD D2 12s with 2 Audiopipe APCL1500.1ds. have no idea what I DB or clamp at though. Would like to know someday....
@@JacobViral quick question there might be something you could help me with...I would like to set my gain and the only way I have of doing so is by calculating my clamped watts/ohm load=est desired volt output using a multimeter or by ear. I tried by ear don't like it and recently tried with this Vault equation however I don't think I got it right as my output volts was much lower than expected. do you have any experience or are familiar with doing it this way?
want to get more Db's screw the s*** shut screw all the doors shut even the trunk lid just leave the back window so you can open it and shut it try to replace all the inside with real wood and I hope the decibels solid of the vehicle the better
.25ohm is never wise unless you are entering a competition for the least amount of power according to amp specs, but actually want high power. You loose dampening, your amp over heats, and you hurt the woofers without the ability to run for longer than 2min max with LONG stretches of cool down, even with box rise. Nothing under 1ohm should be done except for that drag race, don't care what blows or how often competitions. No different than a top fuel drag race that you push the motor and if it blows, well, it blows. And never more than a few seconds of run time
Ive pounded the crap out of my AB Xfl 12s using 2 APCL1500.1ds @.25ohm (amps prob see . 38) on the daily in a '12 Subaru Sti for at least a yr. Amps will get scorching during summer without fans. Drops to 12.3 on a good track. Never been clamped or metered.
@@johnvancamp1576 I wasn't saying it isn't possible. But definitely not recommended. You loose dampening, and you overheat your amps, and with less control over your subs, you risk more with them. Of course it's possible, but the payoff isn't always worth it unless you are doing competitions. But, with the best equipment, right box, right subs, it's possible for daily. But from what I see walking around, most of those running less than 1ohm not competing usually don't have the equipment or setup to properly handle it. And it shows with all the blown amps and subs. Just ask the manufacturers, the distributors or top display guys. Actually, thelifeofprice has a UA-cam video of just this.
John G plus you square wave is increased so at that time the power gain is not worth the sacrifice of sound quality. The guys that ran their amps that low usually are burping around 70HZ or higher, not playing music at 40 HZ. Also the amperage that you pull almost doubles so your not going to play for very long without overheating your amps from lack of amperage.

Sometimes cars will hit about the same number. But in person the softer car is waaaay louder

Josh Hanson it’s good for spl numbers. go to the unofficial sundown audio UA-cam channel and watch the numbers they get out of stock U-series subs.
That's the same s10 they use on unofficial sundown when they show the 4 U12's posting high numbers.

It's how the subs are wired to the amps.
