I'm not saying 8.2 is a bad score, but knocking down a score almost 2 whole points just because you can't complete the later tracks that Trials is known for is ridiculous.
You're assuming games start with 10 points and get knocked down from there. Just because a game has no faults doesn't mean its a 10. 10s, in my opinion, are for masterpieces, and games that blow our minds, not simply games that do their thing well, like Trials does. I would say a 9 is a great score for a game that has no problems, but doesn't particularly blow away any boundaries. Trials generally does this. I'm not going to buy a console for this game.
Garrett R I'm not saying that the game is worth a 10/10, but if you knock the game down almost 2 points, there should be good reason other than something that the franchise is known for. I would give this game a 9 too.
He didn't knock the game down almost 2 points because they were hard. He said that the later levels weren't as over-the-top fun as the earlier levels. And that's true.
***** I still don't think that is reason enough to knock it down. The Trials series is known for these extreme difficulty levels, knocking it down points for a signature part of the series doesn't make since, especially almost 2 points. I'm not saying Trials Fusion is 10/10, I'd give it a 9, but if he is going to give it an 8.2, he should have more than just 'Later Tracks' under the cons side of his review. I'm just saying he needs to justify his score more. And again, I do not think 8.2 is a bad score at all.
maikai196 Fair point, 8.2 is a bit much for one con, but these reviews don't always list all of the cons. Most of the time the reviewer will mention a few things he won't like but only one con will appear, it's just how it works. I'm sure there was some other stuff he didn't like that he just did not mention. Check out the full review, it might have some other cons that he mentioned.
The only problem I have is the huge difficulty spike from the medium to the hard levels. You will go from getting gold on every level to struggling to complete one jump. The hard levels are absolutely insane compared to the other ones and I think it could have used a more gradual increase in difficulty.
I have trials fusion and I have to agree with the reviewer on this. It’s not necessarily that the tracks are too hard but it’s that they never correctly teach you how to overcome the obstacles. It feels artificially hard due to the fact that you were never fully introduced to the techniques needed to beat the level. If it had a better training system that ACTUALLY taught you how to use the harder techniques, the difficulty wouldn’t be a problem. In essence, it’s not to hard if you know what your doing but the game doesn’t tell you what to do which makes it artificially difficult.
I've been playing this game since Wednesday, some words of advice: once you get to the Hard courses, put your TV on mute, if u don't, you'll suffer a mean ass headache.
The knock for hard later levels is ridiculous. That's why I come to Trials. If we're condemning games because of difficulty, then I'd hate to see the review score for Dark Souls. Trials Fusion is a 9.3 for me.
I absolutely love this game. There is nothing that seperates a player bar their skill. i've just got into the top 400 in the players overall. Have platinum on nearly all the tracks, and hit many top 10 runs on track central. it was extremely challenging but so fun. The saves I can pull off now on this game are mad. The amazing editor allows for endless re-playability with over 35000 user made tracks. The formal for this game is spot on in my opinion.
This was my first trails game. I loved the later levels. If you continuously smash your head against the wall(figuratively and also, coincidentally, literally) the game will punish you. However, if you think about what your trying to achieve and how you are going to make it happen you'll get there in no time.
Decent review but Fusion is a 7/10 at best. Lack of content, very limited customisation options and no multiplayer wich is inexcusable. You pay double the money for half the content in this game and the load times on Xbox One are almost double of the previous game on the 360. Still a fun game, but Ubisoft ruined the greatness of this series. - Rob
i agree 100% a good game that becomes too hard at the end, so most players gives up and dont want to play it again. Those tracks should have been something you unlock after the ¨story¨ I also wonder why there isint anything that is medium difficult (i know there is some in the game, but they felt like the belonged on easy), but after what i just wrote should i maybe not critize it being too easy xD
I don't see why the latest levels are a con because the hard and extreme levels have always been a lot harder than the beginner to medium tracks even since trials hd. and it is this aspect that makes the game significantly more interesting and fun for me
My favourite difficulty is Hard because its a mix of fun and its has a challenge to it, they are not so easy to get gold on the first go but they are still easy to pass without having loads of faults
When you complete the game the platinum trophy unlocks and you have to go back in the gets them all! Amazing because now I have an excuse to reply the whole thing 9/10 because the lack of track design tut.
Man, I love the later levels although that could be because I 100% the game a while ago so it doesn't really bother me if I don't get a gold/platinum medal all of the time, also, that track creator is so frustrating but I can still build tracks! :P Nice review by the way...
Seriously? minus 1.8 because "latter tracks don't have enough thrills"? The latter tracks are all about being the best in the game and mastering it, and without them this wouldn't be a trials game. I know reviews are opinions, but reducing so much points for something you probably didn't like because you didn't have enough patience for them and maybe even didn't complete one of them is ridiculous.
Guys, please help me out here. I once played trials evolution about one year ago. I really liked it, and I especially liked the part where you could ride around in skees and in a massive iron ball. I was just wondering if trials fusion also has parts like those. My main question though, which should I get? Trials Fusion or Evolution ?
Difficult levels should be a pro not a con. I was bored until I got to the later levels. The whole purpose of this game is to challenge you and the later levels do a great job at that. Well worth 40$ in my opinion. 6 DLC and endless content with map editor.
Justin Knapp Or just cheating glitching and hacking their way through em.... I honestly don't get why these little kiddies even bother playing games at all..
There is something really annoying in Trials Fusion: In multiplayer sometime there are respawn checkpoints that are next to a big jump and you spawn but you haven´t got enough momentum to acomplish the jump.
I love the user-generated content like endless new tracks but i cant find the option to generate supercross tracks ? This was something i loved about Trials Evolution, just download a few new supercross tracks and have fun with up to 3 friends at home. I just can't understand why they cut it out of the game?
I hope when they get online going, the supercross tracks are more fluid, seemed like a lot of them had a trials flavor to it and ruined the rhythm of the races.
What's up with the later levels? I came into trials evolution with already failed trials HD. Now I 0 faulted all trials evolution extream tracks and 0 faulted the first 3 extream of fusion? They're great levels. Yes frustrating but such a reward when you master each track
fyi..there's no platinum in for the ps4 version 1000 points for x1 but not a 1000 on 360..there's no online multiplayer, only local..hope they add it with dlc..i have it on all 3 console..the only game where it's so fun to compare scores and times
So does this game have online multiplayer? I saw a trailer for it & they was saying something about MP but I didn't know if it was local or online & they didn't mention it in the review.
Cannot wait to get my hands on the level editor, any of you play a track called marble run, 2 or 3 on xbox 360 trials evo, I made them and they had over 20,000 downloads.
Is anybody having trouble with the season pass like I am. I bought the hard copy for ps4 redeemed the code for the season pass, it says it's installed but the game does not recognize it? Anyone?
Trials Evo was $15 in the US, and Fusion is $20. I think it's fair seeing as the game has more content and new additions. It's definitely worth it though.
The whole Fmx thing is completely broken, the controls are too similar to warrant any technique so I always just feel like I'm rotating my right analog stick randomly
The later levels are the essence of trials. You obviously aren't skilled enough to appreciate them. Speed running the earlier tracks is still fun though, however, you can also speed run the extreme tracks once you have mastered them. Please don't subtract almost two points just because you're terrible at the game.
IMO Trials HD and Evo are WORLDS better than Fusion, Fusion doesn't have the same bike customization that the other 2 did for example when you go to change the colour you can only change the colour of the main bike and the 2 wheels where in the other 2 you could change the colour of the pipes/wheels separately so like 1 red wheel 1 gold for example and the main bike colour ofc. aside from customization this is just a personal thing but i dont like the rider outfits in fusion but moving on! I dislike how skill games are part of the "Main story" they are skill games and should have there own separate menu. and the FX stunts? i mean come on what is this super street fighter IV? i dont want to mess around flicking RS like some crazy asian SSFIV nerd lol and to my knowledge (only about half way through the game) so far you cannot use the later bikes on the earlier maps kinda sucky if this is the case because going and getting the phoenix and then going back to rhe beginner/easy/intermediate tracks was a fun thing to do and shaving much more than "Seconds" off but one last thing i hate the voice overs so so so much...

it lost 1.8 for being too hard at the end?!
+Nathanael Weiland IKR
Imagine if Ryan Mcaffery reviewed this:
"Too difficult" - 5/10
Translatio "Con: Reviewer couldn't complete later levels"
So the con was the later levels... because they where more difficult than the earlier ones? That's kinda the point
I think it because they were "less fun", not just trickier.
+Andrew Wales ok I guess, to a new player they would be
@@andrewwales9239 nah extreme and ninja tracks are the most fun
Ps plus June anybody??
Misty YT
Yuppp
Yep
August

The hard levels are absolutely insane compared to the other ones and I think it could have used a more gradual increase in difficulty.
Yep especially between the last medium level and the first hard level of the game
Ben Leesley That's exactly what happened to me, it's like going from CoD to Dark Souls. It could have used a more gradual increase.
I have trials fusion and I have to agree with the reviewer on this. It’s not necessarily that the tracks are too hard but it’s that they never correctly teach you how to overcome the obstacles. that’s the whole point, no handholding, improvise and overcome

I absolutely love this game. There is nothing that seperates a player bar their skill. i've just got into the top 400 in the players overall. However, if you think about what your trying to achieve and how you are going to make it happen you'll get there in no time.
I'm gonna get this..... the stuff people made in the last game with the creator was mind blowing.
Decent review but Fusion is a 7/10 at best.

I got Trials HD and evolution on day one and I have never stopped playing them! Best purchases I have ever made!
Looks like the power of the cloud couldn't do shit about resolution eh?
Fuk u mister gribbel
Funny you say that because thus is all ps4 gameplay
I don't see why the latest levels are a con because the hard and extreme levels have always been a lot harder than the beginner to medium tracks even since trials hd. and it is this aspect that makes the game significantly more interesting and fun for me
And another gem from Finland! HYVÄ SUOMI!!!
Can't wait to play on ps4
can't wait to play it on my toaster
Justin S Can't wait to play it on my potato
They never mentioned it doesn't have online multiplayer...
Multiplayer is added later in a patch
Dictate how do u know they are gonna add online multi in a patch? did ubisoft announce that?
Bolt21LA24 They had it in Trials Evolution so I doubt they won't have it in their new addition.
Bolt21LA24 yes Ubisoft did announce multi in a patch. It is official I'm just too lazy to look for the source.
Chris Williams alright thanks man no worries
My favourite difficulty is Hard because its a mix of fun and its has a challenge to it, they are not so easy to get gold on the first go but they are still easy to pass without having loads of faults
When you complete the game the platinum trophy unlocks and you have to go back in the gets them all! Amazing because now I have an excuse to reply the whole thing 9/10 because the lack of track design tut.

So the later levels cost the game 1.8 points?
Bought this on the One! Looks very interesting!
The later levels are not to be fun they are meant to be extremely hard that's why they are under hard and insane
You have to pay $20 but there is a demo
I'm glad the Sony people have access to this. The Trials series is fucking awesome.
Seriously? minus 1.8 because "latter tracks don't have enough thrills"? The latter tracks are all about being the best in the game and mastering it, and without them this wouldn't be a trials game. Evolution is better
The only reason someone would say that the later levels lose their fun is if they suck
For more Trails Fusion keep it locked to RoosterTeeth
cant wait for the multiplayer update
Difficult levels should be a pro not a con. I was bored until I got to the later levels. The whole purpose of this game is to challenge you and the later levels do a great job at that.
Well worth 40$ in my opinion. 6 DLC and endless content with map editor.
The later levels are harder. Boo hoo hoo
Ik people these days are use to games guiding them where to go without and difficulty
Justin Knapp Or just cheating glitching and hacking their way through em.... I honestly don't get why these little kiddies even bother playing games at all..
What is your game name
what is your game name
This is probably going to be one of my first games once I get a ps4
I don't know why people don't comment on the customisation system, which in my eyes is quite lack luster.
There is something really annoying in Trials Fusion: In multiplayer sometime there are respawn checkpoints that are next to a big jump and you spawn but you haven´t got enough momentum to acomplish the jump.
This game was awesome. 9/10 for me
8.2 with only a single minor negative point?
Good review but I don't like how they removed points for difficulty. That's always been the point of the later levels
I love the user-generated content like endless new tracks but i cant find the option to generate supercross tracks ? This was something i loved about Trials Evolution, just download a few new supercross tracks and have fun with up to 3 friends at home. I just can't understand why they cut it out of the game?
I rate this game 9.8 out of 10, just sayin'.
Might pick it up on PSN (it's on sale for only $10 now)
I'm getting it for Christmas!
I hope when they get online going, the supercross tracks are more fluid, seemed like a lot of them had a trials flavor to it and ruined the rhythm of the races.
Very surprised they didn't mention anything about there being no multiplayer. I'm not gunna bother getting this till the multiplayer update is out
Lol
as someone who always played on ps3 and ps4 but always watched roosterteeth I cant wait to get this for ps4
CAN SOMEONE PLZ HELP: i have the disc with the season pass and the hazmat crater suit on ps4, but i don't see that suit anywhere
HELP IS APPRICIATED
do you need ps plus to buy mini games like this in the store? i havent turned on my ps4 in like 2 months and im lazy
What's up with the later levels? I came into trials evolution with already failed trials HD. Now I 0 faulted all trials evolution extream tracks and 0 faulted the first 3 extream of fusion? They're great levels. Yes frustrating but such a reward when you master each track
are the later levels that bad that you had to shave off 1.8 of the score to a near perfect score, the way you described it i was expecting at least 9
Can't wait to hit up them extreme tracks.
Should I get this or evolution ?
Anyone knows what is the name of the song in the background?
It looks like Skate 3 but with bikes. Even the font and menus look identical.
Does anyone know the song at the beginning?
what's the name of the song at the start of the video?
fyi..there's no platinum in for the ps4 version 1000 points for x1 but not a 1000 on 360..there's no online multiplayer, only local..hope they add it with dlc..i have it on all 3 console..the only game where it's so fun to compare scores and times
I'd love to know what the beginning music is!
Did he just refer to endurocross as "motocross" ?
anyone know the song?
So does this game have online multiplayer?
I saw a trailer for it & they was saying something about MP but I didn't know if it was local or online & they didn't mention it in the review.
the previous game had online so id assume that this one does
Yes, the online mp is a big part of this game.
Cannot wait to get my hands on the level editor, any of you play a track called marble run, 2 or 3 on xbox 360 trials evo, I made them and they had over 20,000 downloads.
Of course you did
Yes, I did, don't be jelious.
Is anybody having trouble with the season pass like I am. I bought the hard copy for ps4 redeemed the code for the season pass, it says it's installed but the game does not recognize it? Anyone?
Is this download only? And how much?
Free on ps plus this month
A Con for the game getting harder?? Im speechless, These critics are getting more idiotic by the day lol
this was one of my most anticipated games this year
was or IS
is
i agree with this review.. the later levels become not fun- but just frustrating to even try to complete.
The later levels have always been near impossible, doesn't seem like a negative point about the game to me
So it got an 8.2 because if "later levels"
my only problem with this game is the price.
trials hd games were £10 on xbox live when they released 1200msp
i have seen this for over £30 in the uk.
Trials Evo was $15 in the US, and Fusion is $20. I think it's fair seeing as the game has more content and new additions. It's definitely worth it though.
Do you need xbox live gold to play this with access to leaderboards?
didnt get it what was wrong with the later levels?
Reading the comments, it feels like I'm the only one who has this for PC.
I rated this game 9.9/10
Evolution is 10/10
oh wow how suprising the later levels are harder.
Have you guys never heard about Gravity Defied?
looks amazing on pc ps4 and xbox one so far so good
It doesn't have Multiplayer yet.
So he listed the later levels as a con because they're hard?
He's a puss :p
Ironic because that is why everyone loved trials HD, because thee cels were more difficult. Apparently evo was too easy...
Here after Ubisoft's E3
Nice review Vince :)
in the mid way through the video I thought 9.0 was obvious
Suomi, Finland, Perkele !
Im not sure If i wanna get this game... as Trials HD was one of the hardest games I had ever played..
Do you ever have to turn in this game?
The whole Fmx thing is completely broken, the controls are too similar to warrant any technique so I always just feel like I'm rotating my right analog stick randomly
The later levels are the essence of trials. You obviously aren't skilled enough to appreciate them. Speed running the earlier tracks is still fun though, however, you can also speed run the extreme tracks once you have mastered them. Please don't subtract almost two points just because you're terrible at the game.
People always complaining about xbone this ps4 that go buy both then complain
how much is it on 360
is it coming to ps3? pls answer me i do not own a ps4 or xbone
Downloaded the demo, love it. Might by the full game.
Cons: Later Levels? hahaha that's what I get the game for!
Someone gifted me this, should I return and spend another 10 extra on infamous second son or keep it?
