Glad to see you covering this game, its great! 2 things the tutorial doesn't tell you though. Edit: Gonna move these down in case of "want go figure things out for myself" applies to the reader. 1) All warehouses are quantum-linked. This means that any item placed in Warehouse 1 is instantly accessible from Warehouses 2, 3, and 4. 2) Not all buildings can be moved for free. Houses, camps, makeshift buildings, and decorations are free to move. Farms cost 1 wooden plank to move. Other buildings cannot be moved. However, all buildings can be deconstructed for a 100% refund. Hope this will help you!
This game looks great! The problem with city builders for me is usually the lack of a clear objective in the game, but here you have small goals, then a bigger goal (finishing the settlement) and then (I assume) an ultimate goal to rebuild the city or something. That’s great for completionists, but also being a roguelike means you can play a run or two at a time. Seriously considering buying this one. Great content, keep it up!
The fact that that first tutorial sets the shrine up to kill 3 villagers before it's possible to actually deal with the threat is important for learning the mechanics, but it also made me really scared of them at first. I thought it was normal to lose people when you opened one of them. It's not. If you have a good setup you can open most without losing anyone. Mostly it takes some free people and some resources, so it does pay to be prepared.
Wishing you the best of luck on this new series. I am right there with you in just wanting the biggest numbers a system will let me display, without having to fight anyone over it. Good luck Rhaps! Have fun!
Now that I have space in my schedule to watch, nice to see this game reappearing. I do like the genre mashups we have been getting lately, and this game looks very well polished for an early access title. Definitely happy to have more on the channel.
Your take a peek video pushed me over the line to buy this and I have been playing it for a few hours already. Excited to see this on the channel, although I want to see more than just the tutorial of course. GIVE ME MORE!
I'm pretty much exactly in the same boat as you. I picked this up the minute I had finished watching you and Teaky take a peak at it, and I've been no-lifing it like there's no tomorrow. I'm over 60 hours in and I still suck, but having a good time none the less.
Very cool to see you cover ths game. I have seen a few others cover it, and I haven't really gelled with their style. I have always enjoyed your coverage of games, and your geneal enthusiams and joy of learning how a game works - it caused me to get into Slay the Spire, Monster Train, and Spellcaster University. Is this going to be another?
That openning about turtleling without a shell in rts games Reminded me of the time me and two mates played age of empires 1 or 2 again for the first time in years Turns out two of us are garbage at multiplayer So we allied up halfway through the game and were still loosing (took the 3rd friend about 10 minutes to notice) So we tried for a wonder victory by building it in a corner and then building walls... About 30 tiles of nothing but walls were placed in that corner initially they were stone but our stockpiles of that died so we swapped to wood bought from the market We still lost but man was it funny when the third friend finally found what we had been doing for the last 20 minutes or so
Your farms were producing both grain and vegetables. you could have boosted grain by telling farmers to ONLY produce grain. (when you click on the farm, there are checkboxes for all of the crops). You only need to worry about blightrot if you play at veteran level of difficulty or higher.
2 video in 1 day? Hell yeah! Also i am the opposite i am decent at RTS but suck at City Building despite loving both, often times everything going well and then "Here is new elements for you" And everything start falling apart XD
I saw this game recommended to me a few times but I never knew it doesnt have combat...... I hate combat in city builders so this game is perfect for me!
I love your variety in games. Initially at least this game really gives off the old Warcraft games 🥰 been here since Inscryption, speaking of variety! And listen with my coworkers to Turn To Page, I appreciate your content, thank you for sharing your content and time! It really helps the day move forward faster some days and makes us laugh ❤

Sometimes one doesn’t desire combat they just wanna make a big prosperous town.
AoE2 player who totally gets the feeling in the intro bit
oh i can relate so hard to your intro ^^
Rhaps, your description of playing an RTS is PAINFULLY familiar.
Just came fresh off the Take a Peak episode. Overjoyed to see you covering this game!
Wooo! I look forward to this series continuing.

Oh HELL YEA. I missed watching Rhapsody vids (especiall StS), and AtS is the perfect reason to do so again. I'm absolutely loving this game as well.

my guy! I'm so happy to see a series on this game!! I cannot overstate the importance of setting production limits on your goods! trust, friend
Love the intro to this. I always preferred the macro part of an RTS, and then when fight time comes I just attack move across the map and hope.
Commenting to show my love for your work, and to bump the algorithm a bit in your way ;)

every time I start watching one of your videos I think of wildermyth you burned this game into my mind
'We no longer need to jerk our meat, we need to pack our meat' caught me off guard

So reconizable! This is why AOE2 was always fun for me the firt 15min...then the armies came and I just wanted to build on and not fight.

This is dope, not sure how else I would have heard about this game. So you got a purchase for them from me.

This game reminds me of Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne, campaign mode when you just explore the map and make settlement
Hey wanted to let you know that the link you have for take a peak is not for this game but your video of take a peak of chess with a shotgun
hey rhaps been a long time, ready to watch some of this
I saw this game recommended to me a few times but I never knew it doesnt have combat...... I hate combat in city builders so this game is perfect for me!
That one of the shelters were not aligned was ticking me somewhat off. It could have looked so perfect. Anyways, i still loved the video and the game.
