Based on my cooking experience, plant milk does not thicken like regular milk does. She also used double cream aka heavy whipping cream to reach the consistency of a spread. So plant milk will remain runny, but I think you can try adding a thickener like cornstarch or flour to make it more like a spread

@@NielleMKKwon The process you used, cooking the milk and cream and sugar until they are reduced and thickened, is how "sweetened condensed milk" is made. A good quality canned/bottled version should be just as smooth and velvety, if not more consistent. The thickness can be adjusted by adding fresh milk. The benefit of making it from scratch, however, is you can control the amount of fat and sugar in the end result. You could even make a vegan version, using coconut milk and cream instead.
Of all the matcha spread recipes, yours has the consistency that I WANT (from the fridge)! THANKS!!
thanks for your lovely comment, have a sweet day :)
Thank you for the recipe. Taste delicious! I need not buy from store from now on.
Made it today following your recipe! And it turned out great~
Great :) enjoy sweet days~
Green Tea Milk Jam Spread is very delightful 💚🥛🍵.
10g match
50g milk warmed
Pot
150ml milk
100ml heavy cream
75g sugar
Looks yum!
Hello, would this work if I used almond milk or soy milk instead of whole milk?
i followed the recipe exactly but i did not get enough jam to fill a 185g jar. i got half of that. due to evaporation etc.
Can I freeze this?
Hi, wanna ask if I can sub the whole milk with plant-based milk? or soybean milk? thanks!!

@@kspade1788 or you can add a little bit of Xanthan Gum i think...
@@kspade1788 I think you can add nutritional yeast
This jam can last for how long?
My guess, a week as it's quite runny.
How to store and shelf life please?
keep it in a fridge and I would say within 4 weeks
It’s says in the video within 10 days.
Thank you for your video!! But Can I ask? If I can't get Double cream, can I use Whipping cream?
I think you can I searched on Google and asked my mom and both of them say yes
Isn't milk sugar mixture basically condensed milk?
Yes, but with extra fat from double cream.
U could just get condense milk right , the process will be just faster
Yea I thought the same!
not really. if u use condensed milk only u will get matcha flavoured condensed milk and NOT matcha milk spread. there is a difference.
Yup condensed milks usually don't even contain that milk nutrition
Does it freeze and thaw well?
Condensed milk basically just a sugar with milk flavour

En México venden ya esa crema, se llama lechera
Venden Lechera con matcha? Que rico
The milk and cream cooking can be substitute entirely with condense milk?
I have not tried only condense milk but my guess is the texture will be much thicker and less velvety
