cassie schulte ok, but my head is already hurting from thinking about the possible “none of this happened cuz technically Travis didn’t enter as well” theory. I do not need more pain!
I thought when they said that dead things don't move, they meant that while the rock can manipulate the layout of the grass, since the dead bodies can't move then it's always easy to locate the dead no matter which layout is applied. I didn't think they meant that the layout around the dead can't be manipulated. Isn't the entire underground covered in dead bodies?

I'm confused at how the loop started. Becky and Cal entered because they heard Tobin, but Tobin was only in there because of Travis. However Travis wouldn't have been there if Becky and Cal didn't go missing.
basically it started when tobin called cal & becky into the field. then travis comes & the timeloop starts over w/ tobin & his family outside being called into the field by pass travis causing tobin & his family go in & pass tobin calling cal & becky in the field. it’s basically cause & effect if cal & becky never go to give the child away. travis never goes looking for them which travis never calls tobin.
The (1 day) loop is always happening, but because time and space works differently in the grass, the 3 parties all made each other come into the field.
@@wtfheim yeah but the thing is, how did tobins family get tied up with the time loop in the first place if Travis wasn’t always there until he noticed that his ex girlfriend Becky went missing?
@@boxerchester0933 really? I didnt hear anything like that, the shots where you could see the wind moving through the grass i was thinking like "oh what if thats the people stuck in it moving through the grass" i honestly dont remember them saying anything like that lmao
Mave Gamer yeah, all of the cars parked in the church lot are from people trapped in the grass. The cars span many different time frames, if you’re basing it off of the look of the cars.
The church is also in a time loop... there is also another building in the in the left behind the church with a bunch of cars in one scene too. Actually they showed this building twice. Once in the beginning when becky first throws up, and when Carl and travis was looking across the field that popped up out of no where from the top of the bowling alley, and they thought it was the church, before freddy popped up and they saw the actual church. I dont think anyone left and they all died.
Here's my theory: The whole movie is themed around decision making. Ross tells Cal that it's because of Cal's indecisiveness Cal always ends up dead. "Here in the garden of forking paths, you didn't make any one choice. You made every choice." Travis is always direct with his decision making and we see that throughout the entire film (leaving Becky, choosing an abortion, looking for Becky, entering the grass, tying the grass, standing up to Ross etc.) As opposed to everyone else unable to make up their minds and proceeding indecisively. I think that in every timeline the person who touches the rock, kills Becky (the mom, Cal, Tobin, and of course Ross) and this has been happening for perpetuity as the rock sketches show. The rock uses people to kill Becky because people don't stand up to the rock. The rock makes the decisions for them. And the stone feeds off of her baby in every timeline. Travis is "Dead" set in his ways and can't be moved by the rock. His decision making, which is what demonizes him in the beginning of the movie, is what redeems him in the end.
Kinda weird that you didn't point out that the only reason Travis lived was because he landed on his previous bodies that cushioned his fall. I also thought all those bodies underneath the rock was past Becky's.
I thought they were the past versions of Becky's babies as the deeper the camera shot goes down the hole, the younger they get. This can also make sense as the reason for why it doesn't happen again this time is because Travis lived and that changed the course of many events before Becky was placed before the rock.
If the grass lets them, that is. They just need to invest in massive lawn mowers...or scorched earth tactics. The only 'green' I wouldn't mind burning tbh.

Sid Cole they all have versions of themselves that died then right? I think, if anything, breaking the loop will undo everything that happened. I don’t know though 😂
Does that mean that Tobin's parents are also alive because if Becky never entered and Travis never entered then Tobin never entered either? It's really confusing.
13:27 Actually I believe his eyes were green, with what looks like strips of grass making up his eye. Great video man, very good explanation and breakdown.
Well, you have to remember this ISN'T a Stephen King adaptation, its an adaptation of Joe Hill's novella, which is just a copy of Stephen King's Children of the Corn. All of Joe's works are just bad copies of his Father's books, which is why they keep saying "co-written by" when what they mean is that he is just copying his dads' works. They did the same with Sleeping Beauties(Storm of the Century) and Nosferatu(Needfull Things). Joe's books don't sell when he doesn't put his dad's name on them.
I don't think so. I think once the rock has you, you are apart of the grass thus you aren't subject to the time and space manipulation it imposes upon the other lost souls.
What the movie fails to explain is, does that mean there's another version of Travis that will stay alive because he won't go looking for Cal and Becky since they won't have gone missing? Does that then also mean that there is another version of Tobin that will arrive again with his parents but won't go into the grass because Travis also didn't go in there? I had so many questions after the movie :')
The brother and sister relationship was so creepy that when Becky told Travis that she gotta tell him something, I thought she was gonna tell him that the baby isn't his but her brother's
@@Earltucker910 That fact always makes me concerned.. Considering he wrote in the child orgy scene in the book, I have seen people can use cocaine as an excuse for it but if anything you would think that would reveal your true nature
Everybody that touches the rock is given a chance to redeem their past sins. Ross appears to be an absent father because of work and his redemption is keeping his family forever with him, Travis abandoned his baby and Becky and is redeemed by saving them, Tobin is the reason Becky,Cal and the baby were in there in the first place and his redemption is stopping them from going in the grass, which stops Travis from going in which stops himself outside the time loop from going in. All hail the black rock of the redeemer.
its the layout of the grass that changes and since dead bodies can't move, they stay in the same spot. but if someone is carrying them then they are technically moving so they'll still move with the grass
No it has to be on the ground like the way travis was able to find toben when he was beside freddies dead body. The dead body won’t move so neither would toben so travis could find him easy
Though I’d love the idea of just a moss covered rock being the symbolism for the religion. I’d get a Bob Ross Chia Pet and wear it as a necklace to proclaim my faith
I think that, when only the rock’s host is left, time restarts and fresh iterations of the characters come to the field. The grass must be trying to assemble a congregation of people whom all touched the rock. Right now, it needs to find an host that is good intentioned and charismatic enough to convince others.
See, it’s funny you should mention that, because Stephen King actually said in an interview that he makes sure that the first person who reads his stories is his wife.
The loop started when Becky and Cal went into the grass. After some time, Travis came looking for both of them so he went in as well. When Travis were stuck, Tobin and his family went in. The future Tobin stopped Becky and Cal so Travis will never come looking for them. Travis will get back together with Becky back home so it only means that Tobin and his family will continue their trip. The only thing is that the future Tobin who stopped the future Becky and Cal will end up with them since his family will go totally insane if they realize their is two Tobin. Becky and Travis will adopt Tobin or Tobin will decide to get into the tall grass again so hell be erase- since he is the mistake during this present.
Basically the plot of the movie: Travis: "That's just a stupid boulder." Ross: "It's not just a boulder.. it's a rock. *cries and hugs rock* -Travis is Squidward and Ross is Spongebob.
Did Travis technically live since the kid stopped the others from going in? He only went in because they were missing for months. Since he stopped them, he might not have gone into the grass.
A good and logical solution to a horrible movie. Well done. You have taken stephen king's stupid concept and thrown it back in his dumb face. I salute you!
Well the Rock is like a small god according to the movie, and it seems better than the god of the bible who send billions of people to hell for eternity.
Amazing Grace they probably looked up ending explained after this movie, not the actual channel, to understand the ending of the movie. She probably didn’t know what the channel was and I think she makes some valid points, even if I do like the channel
Tobin luring Cal and Becky into the Grass was pure; he hadn’t touched the rock yet. That was when he was separated from his parents. When he did touch the rock however, he didn’t become necessarily evil. Although Tobin tried to get Cal to touch the rock, he also gave out several hints that helped Cal later; how the grass doesn’t move dead things, how Becky was in danger being with Ross, etc. Honestly, it’s confusing, and that logic within the film suffered from bad writing, so I see what you mean.
Wait so she’s alive and her creeper brother who’s in love with her is still around?...that doesn’t sound like a happy ending sounds like he will kill whoever gets in his way like he did with her bf at the bowling alley
I believe they all died. The scene on top of the bowling alley and the fact that tobin pops up inside the church tells me, the church is part of the time loop. They was stuck the second they heard that boy scream for help.
Leah Rojo Kaige not to sure about that. I’m pretty sure that version at the end broke the time loop but the one before them was stuck. Which is why the kid was calling for help. They were already stuck, but since end Becky and cal didn’t go they broke themselves out thanks to the previous version of Tobin before the new one got stuck.
Alternate timelines basically. Tobin didn't warn them in the first timeline. When he does, he creates an alternate timeline. Travis is unfortunately stuck between all of them
The grass exists outside of linear time. Rather than moving through time in a single direction, it moves freely through them. Like how we can freely move in the dimensions of space. So the field exists in every moment, changing to fit past and future simultaneously
@@moses9647 but if Becky never went in the grass, then Travis wouldn't have come looking for her so there should be another Travis alive back home right??

I thought when they said that dead things don't move, they meant that while the rock can manipulate the layout of the grass, since the dead bodies can't move then it's always easy to locate the dead no matter which layout is applied. I didn't think they meant that the layout around the dead can't be manipulated. Isn't the entire underground covered in dead bodies?
i mean,, i dont know how well that would help. i dont think the grass would let you leave that easy just bc you're rocking with rigor mortis

Yeah I think it was either the baby 😭 or her dead corpse , but Tobin says that his dad killed the baby.
I'm confused at how the loop started. Becky and Cal entered because they heard Tobin, but Tobin was only in there because of Travis. However Travis wouldn't have been there if Becky and Cal didn't go missing.
I think that's the point its a time loop nothing makes sense with it its an altered part of time leaking through from the rock
basically it started when tobin called cal & becky into the field. then travis comes & the timeloop starts over w/ tobin & his family outside being called into the field by pass travis causing tobin & his family go in & pass tobin calling cal & becky in the field. it’s basically cause & effect if cal & becky never go to give the child away. travis never goes looking for them which travis never calls tobin.

Mave Gamer yeah, all of the cars parked in the church lot are from people trapped in the grass. The cars span many different time frames, if you’re basing it off of the look of the cars.
The church is also in a time loop... there is also another building in the in the left behind the church with a bunch of cars in one scene too. Actually they showed this building twice. Once in the beginning when becky first throws up, and when Carl and travis was looking across the field that popped up out of no where from the top of the bowling alley, and they thought it was the church, before freddy popped up and they saw the actual church. I dont think anyone left and they all died.

Yooooo Fucking Mint Berry Crunch, Haven't seen you since the Battle with Cthuluu, How the hell are you.
Here's my theory: The whole movie is themed around decision making. Ross tells Cal that it's because of Cal's indecisiveness Cal always ends up dead.
"Here in the garden of forking paths, you didn't make any one choice. You made every choice."
Travis is always direct with his decision making and we see that throughout the entire film (leaving Becky, choosing an abortion, looking for Becky, entering the grass, tying the grass, standing up to Ross etc.) As opposed to everyone else unable to make up their minds and proceeding indecisively.

I'm still confused why Travis didn't turn murderous like Ross did, and while Tobin didn't turn evil he still lured Cal and Becky into the grass
Maybe he was still in his right mind?? Who knows?
Tobin luring Cal and Becky into the Grass was pure; he hadn’t touched the rock yet. That was when he was separated from his parents. When he did touch the rock however, he didn’t become necessarily evil. Although Tobin tried to get Cal to touch the rock, he also gave out several hints that helped Cal later; how the grass doesn’t move dead things, how Becky was in danger being with Ross, etc. Honestly, it’s confusing, and that logic within the film suffered from bad writing, so I see what you mean.
Tobin didnt lure them into the grass. The grass used his voice. It was explained
Assuming there is a consistent thread of logic is giving this story too much credit.
Becuase Travis' main object was to keep Becky safe. I'm assuming based on your will and intent the rock can only influence you so much.

Becky: “You said you were gonna help us get out, but you just took us to this giant Boulder!”
Ross:”that’s not a Boulder…it’s a rock!🥺”
Bit if the siblings survive then he would never come to grass to look for her-this is why time travel stories get weird.
Branching realities. Time here is fluid and dynamic so there are instances where they got killed or other times prevent it from happening.
