Something that you can't forget is creativity. It's a small thing but it can be game changing. A majority of the time you can do 1-2 things and win but if a guy shuts those down you need to come up with a new way to score. Don't keep trying the same thing in the third if it hasn't worked all game
Do you ever mess around with slap passes? In theory they are amazing but in the speed of the game, I end up just sending a slapshot to the net instead of purposely looking for a redirect by slap passing to the forward near the net.
I cant score at all im on the brink of returning it. Is there any drills u make that i can do to help me get the mechanics and timing down to help score?
haha bro thats a constant struggle always. if its really crushing you try fucking with the online pass assist, its defaul set to 100/100 iv seen it actually improve passing when lowered to 70 or 80! its in the settings menu.

I hate the ones that just switch to D and don't do anything then when you come out of your zone they just bump you steal the puck and score so dam annoying they don't even play
it means that the opponent has his d set to collapsing or 1-4 to counter this, when you get the puck let his players go back to their position at thier blue line and wait for one guy to attack you then skate up the ice, its actually easier going through people who have 5 guys at the blue line then it is when its you vs two defenders on the rush! if you havnt checked out my how to score vid watch that itll show you how to do the wrister just inside the blue line, its a good way to counter collapsing defense!
At 3:40 how did you get the AI you were passing to with Vlasic to pull his stick back like that for a slap shot one timer? When I try to do something similar I pass then I receive pass then pull back slapper then shoot, yours looks way more smooth.
Nate Mckee goto practice mode and do a 2 on 0 setup so you can fuck around with it. But basically skate while holding the backhand deke, the left thumb stick can still control where you skate then basically just pass across the ice. It's kinda of hard to explain in text, once you do it once you'll know. Then do it in the game and it's immensely over powered because the pass is somehow at full power

But if you hold a deke or the x button to hold the puck away from you while gliding along the baords you will more often then not squeak by, its kinda of a lame animation thing but it works more often than not. But flat out blocking a hit by p[ressing a button isnt a thing

In my latest video i talk about how I beleive there is a Rubber Band effect in nhl where EA turns up a slider or messes with the Ai to make it easier to score in certain situations to make the games closer. Probably whats going on buddy!
Thats fair. I mean this video is really for the players that struggle a ton and just want to try and win more consistently. Taking advantage of what the game gives you I feel is a big part in getting better. I will have a video coming out soon that details how to play defense while being the defender soon tho. oh so when you pass, before the guy youre passing to gets the puck hit up on the right thumbstick to shoot it. this will queue up a one timer.

switch them to collapsing and protect net. Id recommend not using those though as people can roast you with point shots.
