I'm trying to switch into motion design, not UX, but there's not a community for it on UA-cam so I like watching UX videos. It's encouraging to see another black woman paving her way. Hope your new career is going well :)
Hi, I'm Brazilian and I'm entering this UX/UI world now, I'm close to graduating in Graphic Design, but I got to know the UX/UI area and I fell in love, I wanted to thank you for this wonderful content that you make, it has helped me a lot, please continue!
You are an absolute joy to watch! You've got such a believable and natural way of speaking. I appreciate how authentic you are. Very well-presented information. Easy to listen and follow. I am just now beginning my journey into tech and I'm really intrigued by UX. Your videos are certainly helping to make my decision easier and more informed. Thank you!
Thanks for the great info you provided in your video! I am switching careers after being a Pharmacy Tech the last 6 years. I originally started out studying for Software Development in Oct but watching your video has encouraged me to switch. Hopefully this would be a better fit for me!
@@maureenvega how long have you been a tech for?? Glad to know I am not the only one :) I don’t come from a design background so I was intimidated about making this switch!
How integral did you find your interior design background in finding a job or succeeding in the UX field? I'm considering a career change but don't have any design experience. Thanks!
Hi! I would say it helped and gave me a head start but wasn’t integral. You can succeed in this career and not have any design experience. What’s most important is empathy for the user!
Your videos are inspiring, i'm just starting my career path in UX design....... it's a little tough as i'm trying to joggle school with it.I don't know if i'm doing it right though
nice video, thx. I'm considering a career change and getting into UX as well. I'm quite shocked it was so hard to find a job, I figured there were a ton of jobs out there. Hmm. I'm an American living in Europe and hoping to find remote UX design work if I decide to go thru with this. Any thoughts on finding remote work?
Thanks for watching! There are more new designers than there are entry-level roles which made the job hunt so competitive! For you would I would filter you search to apply for remote only roles, specifically companies that hire outside the US. There will be less options but I think less competition, making you a strong candidate. Good luck!
Hello! Having the design background helped for sure; you’re already thinking as a designer. In terms of pay it’s WAY more than what I was making in interior design
@@hellostephaniem ohh wow, I can imagine. Their was a drive from within that keeps the consistency on. Wow. That's cool though. I actually plan on suspending Surveying for UIUX, but really, it's seems so difficult. Working 10hrs a day won't let me give the required attention to UIUX, still trying to strategize though. Thank you Stephanie.

Thank you KayGee! I’m happy to create a space for us ❤ Good luck in all that you’ll do!
I did motion graphics for a few years and there are groups like The school of motion and Evan Abrams that will help you get started.
The decision to switch has been so intimidating and I'm not even close to applying yet, but this video was extremely helpful and motivating!

Curious what made you switch careers?
A loaded question! I'll have to do a video about it
how was the transition from interior design to UX? I'm currently switching from architecture to UX. also how's the pay difference?
Hello! Having the design background helped for sure; you’re already thinking as a designer. In terms of pay it’s WAY more than what I was making in interior design
If i may ask???? how did you manage going to work as a interior design and coming home for a UX design tutorials??
like thats huge.
It wasn't easy for sure, but my interior design job was so bad, it was motivation to come home and work my butt off to get out that bad situation.

Did you get your money back with the job guarantee with Springboard? Isn’t it a 6 month guarantee?
I did!
thank you 🥰

Your videos are super helpful and informative! I think you’ve converted all of us in the comments. Ever think about recruiting?! Jk.
Hello Stephanie, what’s your name on LinkedIn? I want to connect on there being I’m new to UX
