This was a great tribute to Thin Lizzy,a band Gary was a part of,and to have fellow another ex Lizzy guitarist on stage,Brian Robertson here,it was perfect. Gary was the greatest guitarist there was (well,for decades for me, it was always Duane Allman or Derek Trucks from The Allman Brothers Band for me),but had a major Gary Moore binge earlier this year and realised just how good he was (been a fan of his since the early 70s),but the songs you folks really should check out are "The Messiah Will Come Again","Red House","Parisienne Walkways","Still Got The Blues For You","Empty Rooms","The Loner" the list is too long,this man was one of a kind,whereas many so-called guitar gods could play Gary could do that,and sing.

Gary Moore was in my humble opinion the best guitarist ever to walk this earth. He wad an absolute master. Just watch The Messiah Will Come Again Live on UA-cam to see why.
Gary was a kind of fringe member of Thin Lizzy, although he appeared on several of their recordings, he only made one complete album, Black Rose, Thin Lizzy's best album by far.
Phil Lynott always turned to his old friend when he was stuck for a guitarist. Indeed, the first time that Gary left Thin Lizzy, Phil was quoted as saying that he had to get 2 guitarists to replace him because he was so good! I think that that says it all. R.I. P Gary, you are very sadly missed.

I was at that gig. A Tribute to Phil Lynott. Gary Moore was one of the best guitarists around for both rock and blues. Unfortunately he only agreed to play that concert if he could record it and sell it under his own name.

I was a big fan of Phil Lynott & Thin Lizzy when he was still with the band. Gary (R.I.P) in turn is still one of all time greatest guitarists in my books. Because of all that & this song also being really enjoyable blues, I'll go with a 9.0.
Thin Lizzy has been a major influence for bands like Metallica, Alice in Chains, Mastodon & Testament. Also, when This Lizzy started using two lead guitarist in 1974, bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden & Def Leppard copied & refined that style later on. The latest line-up of Thin Lizzy started a new band "Black Star Riders" & their vocalist sound a lot like Phil Lynott. The definitive version of this song is to be found on the Live And Dangerous album. Way better than this one. Brian Robertson and Scott Gotham trading solos and Phils heartworn vocals just elevate well above this version. Check it out.
