  • Hi everyone,
    Welcome or welcome back to my channel. My name is Jess and I love doing DIY, making clothes in a "simply but pretty" way.
    In today's video, I'm so happy to introduce you all my new series "Dating wardrobe" where I will share with you my picks for the dating outfits I would love to wear on the different types of dating. And in this video, we will start with the first date outfit idea. It's the Vintage midi slip dress. It's in sleeveless style with v-neck, gathered fabric and no zipper. It's quite elegant but not too sexy or casual and also very comfortable. Therefore it's such a perfect outfit for the first date. I hope you like it and try it out.
    To make this DIY, please check out my basic information below:
    Sewing machine: Brother Auto Tension
    Material: 3m of thick chiffon fabric
    My body measurements: 80-66-92cm. I'm 165cm tall and usually wear Small size.
    I learn sewing by myself. So I would love to know more sharing from you guys to improve my skill. Please join me in this sewing journey by being a part of it here www.jessdangdi...
    And stay connected around social media together:

    Absolutely love this dress! I would however like to warn anyone with a curvier body: the measurements don’t work if you have a larger bust. For me I ended up with way too much fabric around my waist and armpits! I’ll alter the pattern I already have, but I’d recommend checking out a different video if you haven’t started yet and are curvy. 😊

      Hi! Sorry im new to sewing but id like to know what changes to make because normally im a size S but I have a bigger bust and don’t want to face this issue when beginning the sewing process

      @@zoeriveroszamora2946 I tried altering it, but it still turned out a little wonky. I’d honestly recommend just using a pattern like Coraline Street’s pattern, or look up a different slip dress video like The Essential Club’s one!

      It's thick chiffon fabric. And it's not stretching

      @@JessDangDIY Let's do it Jess! I would be happy to collab with you... I've made over 300 patterns for Mood, a dozen or so for Gunnar Deatherage, and regularly draft for RTW designers and home-sewing pattern designers. You do the designs, I can draft & grade.

    Is it okay to use linen fabric for this?

    • @JessDangDIY
      @JessDangDIY  8 місяців тому

      Yes, it's okay. But I would go with soft linen instead of the hard one. Because this dress need to have the fall down feeling of the fabric to create the feminie look
