- Bass Cover of "Welcome To Paradise" by Green Day, from the 1994 album "Dookie".
I made the tabs from the original Mike Dirnt's bassline, you can listen to the official bass master track here: • Video

I play in an Alternative / Electronic Rock band called ZEPTEPI.
Watch our Official Video here 🔵 • ZEPTEPI • Cattedrale (...
Mike Dirnt is seriously so underrated. Watch him live and he plays every bass riff with ease, making no mistakes ever, haha
***** Try some rancid. Matt Freeman is hands down the best punk bass player, in my opinion.
Lukey Pooky you should see Mike play for his Fender Precision Bass and Bassman 800 series videos.
Bro you are a TF2tuber.
Lukey Pooky bassists in general don't get the attention they deserve
Yeah true, I've never looked up to a person so much as I look up to Mike, he's my biggest inspiration and idol, I think he deserves so much more respect
I’m a little new to bass, only songs I can really play are Feel Good Inc by Gorillaz and Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes, but I wanted to find some Green Day songs to play. So, naturally, I typed in “Green Day bass covers with tabs” and watched a few. Then I saw this one. Watched it, and I realize- maybe I’ll wait to play this one... it’s terrifying (yet amazing) to a new bassist such as myself. Mad props TO ANYONE who can play this, I admire you.
Four years later, are you still playing bass?
@@puernatura8998 Nah, he realized 7 nation army isn't actually played on a bass.
Just start playing it, doesn’t matter if you think you can do it or not, just do it.
Uhh maybe a bit late but 21 guns is the first song I ever played on bass
Such an unreal bass riff in this song.
Jett Lennox especially at the bridge where there is a bass solo thing 😂
@@gabeaddisonmusic Actually its not a really hard part, but it sounds cool for sure! It takes a lot of stamina thou, and the massive amount of repeating in that high tempo makes it easy to get lost!
@@TT.Hell. yeah lol I mean I wasn’t saying it was hard or anything but yeah very easy to lose the pattern
I tried to figure it out and I terribly failed, especially when I exercised the syncopation. Ok, pratice makes perfect. One thing is pretty clear. Green Day are heroes and I adore every person who can play it like this.
3:40 nice brah
Possibly the most difficult bass line Mike Dirnt has ever made, Longview looks like a rookie song compared to this
Aidan LaRose stuck with me is the hardest
Suck Dauce Panic Song is hard if you aren't a very fast player.
Oktoman Empire stuck with me is very fucking hard. I agree ha
Longview already is a rookie song
Sassafras roots
Man, i am a bassist too and i must to say, you have playied this Song amazingly! This is The Best cover on youtube, no contest! Keep up The good work!
That time is like mike dirnt playing well frickin done
Track is 25 years old, wow. Just discovered some GreenDay tracks like this, I hadn't realised they were so accomplished. Sounds simple like punk until...
That bass sounds sooo good. The cover itself is outstanding
WOW! I could watch/listen to this all night! This is my new number one MUST LEARN bass line and solo!
Linda_Guitar same!
Just do it :) After learning one Green Day song the rest is easy because you have learned his way of playing. Its pretty much same playing in most songs, just different chord progressions :)
Awesome cover i really liked it !!
3:39 best one man😱
Superbly accurate . Dialed in some excellent tone with that Fender Precision Bass.
Im getting into Bass... Super excited! This video is a major inspiration to me. Thank you for uploading, you sound amazing
Thank you!
This tone is a killer, nice job man...
I’m so glad I found a video with tabs that are actually accurate to the isolated bass track. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!
Beautiful
Great job!
Perfect video!👍👍
Superb
Thanks a lot! This video is good for practicing.
Great!
sick tone!
Amazing.
Nicely played, Sir.
Really just did the whole damn thing no sweat like wow
Nice cover
love it
Really good cover, you have the exact same bass im going to get, sunburst with maple fretboard
Sei un grande!!!
Sergio Santucci grazie! :)
非常喜欢你的演奏❤
3:36 awesome 😍 mikes such and underrated bassist
Incrível!!!
Thanks man! Dead on lesson :)
this makes me want to learn bass. (I already play guitar and drums AND can play this on drums.)
Is this hard to play on drums? Im an experienced bass player who is starting drums and guitar and im looking for something that would be challemging but still able for a begginner to learn.
Good job
1:59 - 2:52 My favorite thing to play on Bass
Solid
the bass in this song is insane it breaks my brain
This is so much harder than I was anticipating
Thanks loads
Show de habilidade, muito obrigado pela tablatura.
Vamo😜
Please make more! Maybe make a cover with a guitarist!
100% accurate!
thanks for exist
That riff was epecially difficult for me to learn, but eventually I got it
This cover is great! What are you using to get the tone? It sounds just like the original
Fender precision + new strings (most important) + hard picking + a little overdrive + boost the mids on your amp!
❤
Thanks for this! I believe you should be doing a pull off on the fill during the verse though
Vamo
Can you please cover "Dirty Rotten Bastards" on bass???
Do you know what your setup was for this video? That tone is to die for
I used a ZOOM B3 multieffect with a little overdrive + compressor, then plugged in Guitar Rig 5 amp simulator... but i think the most important thing is having new strings and picking hard!
Those tabs are so helpful! I almost have the bridge down it's really fast smh I'm not used to playing that fast
same lol did you manage to do it
I’m at a 1:53 with song leaning on bass it’s going pretty good and I’m doing this all on my own
Hello again! Gonna perform this song in a few months on a eb-3 with my band. Any advice?
If you want a similar tone, turn up the mids on your amp... then, enjoy it! :)
how to you get this metallic-juicy sound?
Is your action incredibly low or are you picking aggressively?..or sth completely different?
On the contrary, my action is pretty high :) You can get this sound with new strings and, of course, by picking hard... then try adding a bit of overdrive!
A precision bass may help too
My godddddddd. Amazing
Thank you!!!
Emanuele Coppo hey, is it possible to get the tabs for this song???? (Sorry if it is a repeated question)
Yes! Here is the link drive.google.com/open?id=0B46PWLyXxAb6OFJjUnlWYlBqZVU
Emanuele Coppo thanks!!!
where did you find that tab? Do you have any more?!
Is there any way I can print the tabs out? I need to teach this bass part to a student next week, at a music camp.
Linda_Guitar yes, this is the pdf file drive.google.com/open?id=0B46PWLyXxAb6OFJjUnlWYlBqZVU
THE SOLO HSSHHJSHHSHSSH
I'm trying to do this solo in bass two months ago
Took me a few tries to master the bridge bass part. Curious what the tempo is🤔🎸
i started learning bass a few months ago (in feb, so around 5 months ago) and i was assigned this song to learn. am i cooked gang?
more green day
the only way to make this video better is to add links to a full tab in the description
Here you are! drive.google.com/file/d/0B46PWLyXxAb6OFJjUnlWYlBqZVU/view

How many takes did this video have?
Anyone know what the BPM of the song is? I tried to figure it out on my DAW, and when I searched it, I found multiple BPM's like 89, 91, 186 and 192.
Unfortunately it wasn't recorded on click, so the bpm is not constant...
One month playing bass!- I’m gonna attempt this. Doesn’t look too bad, but there are a couple giant jumps that freak me out, especially in the chorus at 0:50 from “nice” to “wasteland”
so how it went¿
@@schemaboy4848 I’ve actually got it down, I nailed that jump and am pretty proud of my ability to play the song. Still gotta work on the solo part tho, I’m a little slow lol
Hello again, I was wondering if you knew the type of pedal mike dirnt (or you) use for songs
Hi! Mike Dirnt plugs his bass directly into a Fender Super Bassman amp, which has an overdrive channel... you can use a simple overdrive pedal (i use compressor + overdrive from my ZoomB3 multieffect). Far better with new strings! :)
Emanuele Coppo thanks for the reply!!! Very helpful!
How do u get this tone
1:48
How’d you nail Mike’s tone?
A Fender Precision, new strings and a little overdrive... and play hard with the pick!
What does it mean if a note is enclosed in brackets?
Hi! It continues from the last note of the previous bar
3:40
3:41
tuning?
How are you tuned? Down a half step?
Yes he is
I'm literally holding the exact same bass as this right now.
i love your videos :3
Which means he wants to fuck, don't let him down.
wtf i like bass :v just look at my name
Nah man you horny af, just like all of the males in this earth, embrace it man.. this is the human nature.
wtf
This song from "Kreplunk" not from "dookie", but I love this cover.
Actually this is the re-recorded version from Dookie, anyway thank you!
Emanuele Coppo do they different???
Yes
my new favorite sentence right there
Even at x0.75 shit is tough 😫
0:38
0:32
fucking god
does mike use a plectrum?
Yes
I’m not a pro musician or anything, but I just want to know if 1:59 would be a “bass solo”
Not really, just a bass riff at the bridge of the song. A really cool one though :)
Standard tunning?
Eb tuning (half step down) i'm late
Could I get the tabs in some way that I could look at the whole tab at once because it can be quite annoying to pause and play over and over xD
+SandwichTrash Yes, this is the PDF file drive.google.com/open?id=0B46PWLyXxAb6OFJjUnlWYlBqZVU
@@emanuelecoppo Thank YOU so much!
Awesome as fuck bro !
Tuning?
All strings a half step down
How does one not get tired or lose rhythm while playing the solo ? my hand gives up near the end were Billie Joe starts playing a E G F# F chord progression...
You might be picking to hard. Do it softly just turn up the amp
My biggest weakness is learning strumming patterns
i can read your mind you want to get here
1:59
Whats the tuning?
+lorenzo amaral It's a half step down
thanks
for some reason i find the verse bassline to be more difficult then the bridge/bass solo
Omg I'm so stupid! XD I clicked on this video ready to play along and then I start playing Longview! XD
Coppoh è sexy porco il papa!!!!
YALL gotta help me. im trying to pick a song to play for bass in front of the entire school and im fucking dying ??? any green day or blink-182 songs that are intermediate skill but sound good would be appreciated
those are song *E L O N G A T E D* FINGERS
it's so fucking hard to coordinate... :( but i'm close
I thought bass line was going to be easy until I tried it. Wtf
