I remember when Michael started his UA-cam channel. And you didn't even want to be on it and now you've got Almost 350000 followers. You have come so far. So proud of you and your channel. Happy New Year to all of you. Give your mom and dad an extra hug. Cause they did a really good job on you guys.
Billy you are an amazing young man and the team you have chosen to work for you and with you are the best. You have truly given us all joy in your endeavours and we all look forward to following you on this journey for time to come.
The big washbasin is called a Lavet. Its a zink or bathtub. Bit in between. They were populair in the 50's and 60's. It's a dutch design. I'm from 1979 but in many homes they were still there when i was little.
Just one correction, the nun's didn't sell everything....the Catholic Church sold everything. Edited: as a Catholic myself, here across the pond, I have many things that are hundreds of years old from our churches in New England. I just wish I could figure out how to send them to you Billy. Unfortunately, the cost of shipping, would make it something I couldn't afford at this time in my life, being more older than your Dad.
Maybe start a ‘go fund me’ page showing what you would like to donate to Billy and the convent, link it to Billy’s channel and maybe get Billy to promote it on here and you will find that people will donate money to package the items up and have them shipped and transported to the convent. He has nearly 350,000 subscribers of which I would imagine would include many Americans that would like to contribute to the convent items from the New England churches particularly as the convent was being built at the same time the French were assisting in the American Revolution. In some respect it would be a nice personal thank you for the help during the revolutionary war. Just a thought. I have no idea how to set it up, maybe one of your family could help with the photographing, cataloguing and setting up the go fund me page.
It might be worth researching where the catholic church might have relocated items they did not sell to get an idea of what was originally there. I am sure they would have looked to this before selling
I'm sure Billy and Gwen can afford to have it shipped. They are rolling in it! Thanks to us, and of course her inheritance that got them to this place in the first place.
You are living my dream! when I was young, I don’t know 20s, I worked at a convent. The nuns there had begun to get old and they added an infirmary to it. This was an updated infirmary. That came about because the nuns did not like the idea of having to leave their home and go into a nursing home. You have to remember a lot of them had spent their whole life there. the place was amazing and I fell in love. I love seeing this old girl come back from the dead. I cannot wait to see the finished product.
I had the pleasure this year of driving to the village of Ernee and sneaking a peak at the convent in real life… (and retrieving a baguette from the vending machine next door 😂). It’s wonderful to watch the progress every day from my home on the other side of the world, and wish the Pethericks a happy and successful 2024.
Anyone else desperate to hear the stories of the place after 4pm?? Billy pls pls do a sit down video in the style of the 70s , where u sit in a dim lit library (when finished) and regale us with tales of the things u can't quite explain about the place after 4pm. Pls pls 😊
1776 is the beginning of my country, the United States of America. When I think of how much history there is in Europe and the fact that so much of it is preserved and or restored, like your chateau, and this beautiful old convent. It blows me away. So much of the American way seemed to be, when things got old, people demolished and rebuilt new. Sadly that means much of the history is gone. I respect the way you are saving this convent and making it into something that can be repurposed for the future. Happy New Year to you and your family and the team that helps you.
Billy and Guen and everyone who has worked in the convent project : Congratulations !!! Great job done so far!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏 Billy you are the best!!! Thank you for sharing with us your love for history and historic buildings . Your passion for them is totally transmitted through your videos . Have the best 2024, and thanks for a great 2023 🎉🎉🎉🎉 happy new year🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Every time you talk about the double height library i keep imagining it having a gallery, (keeping part of the old first floor around the edge of the room) with a beautiful spiral staircase leading up to it.
Thank you, Billy! I have been following you these 18 months. This was fun to see the amazing progress that has been made. An insert of Michael’s organ recital on Christmas would have been an awesome addition. Thank you for taking the time to do this. Hope you and your family are feeling better! Happy New Year!
Thank you Billy, for the entire tour. The convent and your aspirations for its renovation is an amazing thing! I wouldn’t miss your videos for all the tea in China! So well done.
I’ve been with you since the beginning of the convent project. So nice to get a whole tour. I think that larger room with the fire place on the ground floor, was their Chapter room. Where the Community would have their meetings. And spend their community ‘recreation’ time…sewing together etc. Thanks for the tour Billy! God bless you all in the New Year!
This convent is amazing and all the history it has seen leaves you in complete "AWE". It is too bad that so much was changed and lost throughout history. You know Billy after you get it restored the church might change their mind and want it back lol. Thank you for the tour, would love to see the grand stair case restored that is beautiful. Have a great day
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to your entire family and crew! Can't believe it's been 18 mths already. Unreal! You've done an amazing job so far. Looking forward to 2024. Best wishes from Indianapolis, Indiana USA
This is how you recap a year (and plug Osmo). Thanks Billie. Happy New Year Pethericks and friends--and all those who deliver services behind the scenes of this worthy project.
Billy, thanks for the tour. I’m amazed at the all the oak you’re finding inside the walls. The kitchen is just beautiful..love the gorgeous chandelier. I’m excited to see what’s next!
I am again amazed at how much you have done in 18 months. I love seeing your work on the Convent and cannot wait to see the library completed. I love how the door opened up when you were in the chapel and on the first floor so spooky.
Ive been watching since the beginning and even I found that helpful! Im a map kind of person and Im constantly trying to put rooms in their correct place in my mental map of the building. Thanks!
Loved the tour. Incredible amount of work done in the last 18 months. Looking forward to 2024. Listened to Felix Hell playing the biggest organ in the world. Mind blowing.
Thank you Billy for the tour. Been with you guys from the very early days of the Chateau but I don’t comment often - just likes! Your team is a handpicked collection of wonderful people (including Alex). Wishing family and team every good wish for coming year 2024. Onward and upwards. Very best wishes from Sherryle, New Zealand 🇳🇿 👍🏻🇳🇿🌹❤️
Well Billy and all the team well done. Merry Christmas and Happy new year. That was great, i started watching when you actually bought the place, found ya quite by accident. Can’t wait for the kitchen to be completely finished looks exceptional by the way can’t imagine what the library is going to look like ? Or the chapel the pipe organ was a journey and half my other favourite place . Say Gday to everyone. You guys work well together especially Yannis he is an asset and a good man
Omg today is Saturday and I was waiting most of the day for Billy and his team! lol lost track of time being off of work for the week! See you next week !
So affable...warm...interesting with a beautifully artistic and creative vision...yes you, young fella."im so so into being a returning viewer for your beautiful videos
Brilliant tour, and a great insight into the Convent. You say that you will 'restore' the office eventually. Personally I would keep it as it is now as it's the 'administration hub' of the building so whatever it is used for, it will have a modern area for the admin team to work from :)
That door opening when you started talking about the order of Sisters who ran the convent was interesting.Someone is apparently interested in what you are talking about from the other side.I do believe in spirits.I think they appreciate all the work you have done to the place.
Thank you, Billy, for this very interesting tour. There were rooms I had not seen before, and some shots of what the place looked like when you first purchased it. I am looking forward to watching the library areas transformed, as I did the kitchen. Happy New Year to you and yours!

Please give my best wishes to all of the men who have helped with the work, they each contribute so much to the enjoyment of the video. This was an absolutely wonderful tour and overview. You are doing a perfect job restoring and beautifying this lovely convent. Happy New Year, Billy, and to all the Family, Friends, and amazing Workers. Hope everyone is enjoying a well-earned Holiday.🎉🎺🎊🎈
Happy new year to all of the hardworking Pethericks and Janis. Looking forward to seeing more videos in the new year. God bless you all as you continue the restoration of the wonderful place.
What an enjoyable tour. When watching memories of all the people involved when going room to room cleaning or working on one item or the other. Thank you, Billy, for the walk about. Now when watching we can put the location with the work. By the way, is there a draft in the Chapple, or do the doors just open on their own? No big deal really, just curious. I'm looking forward to your work coverage in 2024. May you and the family have a Happy NEW YEAR! CHEERS

Regarding your bar near the old chapel, there is a restaurant and brewery in Pittsburgh, PA called Church Brew Works. It is in an old deconsecrated church. A very cool place. Maybe you can get some ideas from them.
I’ve missed a couple videos here and there so I’m curious is that beautiful kitchen for a huge apartment? Will there be other kitchens? Is this being made to be one large chateau or multiple apartments? I remember at one point it was mentioned that there would be apartments. In any case my goodness that kitchen is one of dreams. Great job with the renovations!

Michael started him on this good path and now we are all enjoying these videos. I am really glad.

Happy New Year to the Petherick clan and to all of the extended family 🎉❤ I'm really looking forward to the 2024 projects!

You should organize a Faith themed festival that would be so cool. 💃🏼
A friend shared with me the followng lessons: OPT and OPM. "Other peoples' TIme and Other people's money."
who open that door
The wind.
When you’re finished you should offer it to people for filming! I’m sure you could earn a bit of £ from that seeing as you’ve done such a beautiful job!
For movies an TV I mean
Amazing place! ❤
Just a suggestion - you might want to get the duct tape off the bar units before it ruins the finish.
Would you consider taking down all the paneling from the attic to reuse in the top floor library and the reception ?
"Doesn't add any spookiness to the building at all" 🤣
27:27 reminds me of the movie Carrie. That room could be used by a hermit.
Thanks for mentioning the order of the nuns. If you are ever going to name the place, you might consider Le Chateu St Augustine.
I think you should open it up as a place to have family reunions

maybe a painting in the attic will be worth a fortune. it could help with the cost of the renovation
at 2:22 the door in the background opens on its own... umm.

Question: Why are the doorways so short to all the bedrooms?
The nuns back them were very small, probably genetics and nutrition.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one to see the door opening by itself. LOL. Alex didn't say anything when it opened. 1776... hmmm. Do you know what month in 1776? I wish I could do something like this.
