I got a £200k Porsche stuck in mud!

- This is the most incredible Porsche 911 the world has ever seen… The Porsche 911 Dakar!
It’s based on the Carrera 4 GTS, but it’s been modded up to the eyeballs to make it suitable for taking off-road! But what exactly has changed over the standard car?
Well for starters, let’s take a look on the outside. Up front, you’ll find a redesigned bumper, a tow hitch and retro-styled alloys at both the front and back. The car has also been raised 60mm higher than standard and has the option to raise an additional 30mm if needed. There’s a carbon fibre spoiler around the back, extra cladding around the wheel arches and the same bonnet as taken from the GT3!
Despite being built for burly off-road work, the 911 Dakar is still unmistakably a Porsche on the inside, with the infotainment screen, centre console and dials mirroring the GTS. However, there are a couple of changes to distinguish it from the normal car, such as bespoke driving modes, super-durable floor mats, and bucket seats lifted from the GT3. Oh, and of course, you won’t miss the roll cage at the back!
The 911 Dakar is powered by the same engine as the Carrera 4 GTS, which means it’s equipped with a 3-litre twin-turbo flat-six which is good for 480hp and 570Nm of torque. The engine sends power to all four wheels, which is just as well given some of the surfaces the 911 Dakar is likely to encounter!
Interested? Of course, you are! There’s one thing to consider though… The price starts from £173,000!! So is it worth it? It’s time for Mat to put it through its paces and find out!

Yes. I thought the engineer's face says: Mein Gott Mus Das Sein?!
Lol

a 911 with an off road drive mode
what a time to be alive
Wish the 2000 Falcon XR8 also tackles the mud.
Nothing new, the 959 was literally an off-roader from the ground up
@@wailfaridi2070 And the 911 SC was already rallying in group 4 in the 70s
@@wailfaridi2070 Yeah well its literally based of it so yeah

yea not the cars fault
Yeah...
Very deep. You could see rhe Cayane struggling

If I had the money to buy a Porsche, I would absolutely buy the Porsche Dakar precisely because it does what it does and doesn't look like something that's supposed to be posed in and have the life detailed out of it! 😁
The Porsche 911 Dakar has $890000.
yeah exactly, it'd be such a good daily that you can thrash around with and not care about it getting scratched
😮
if i had one i would definitely do a rally with it. it would be incredible to see a new 911 doing such races and i also think it would be very quick. a lot of torque, 4x4 and amazing diffs is all you need honestly.

I think Matt has finally done it 😂 all future car reviews should be done on mud.
Try the Pajero Sport Dakar in the mud also.
HI IM ALSO A ISAAC
Gotta love Porsche for building cars that are actually fun and no bs 😍😍😍👍🏻
Porsche always brought up amazing cars.
The only thing standing in the way is the price...if this were say $100k, I could actually buy one...
@@SomeGuysGarage a standard 911 cost that much, why should a modified Porsche cost the same?
@@AnteFuerst the point was a base Carrera used to cost like $60-70k. 911 prices have gone through the roof where they're all $200k+ cars these days.
Except you can’t buy one
Mat Watsons always up to something bonkers 🤣
I know
Yeah

TRUE
how do you think he can afford 2 911's!!
An offroad challenge with this and cayenne would be brilliant.
They would both get nowhere and then break down. Porsche and offroad is a myth
@@bigduphusaj162 That's not true. Porsche won Dakar with a 911-based car in 84 and 86.
Yes 🔥🔥🔥

Mat never disappoints 👍🏻
Mat always brought up something fantastic.
Love it! It is a true homage to the Porsche legacy. The 959 which has it’s DNA in all modern Porsche’s… started it’s life as an off-roader!
So cool watching Matt enjoying himself while reviewing the porsche on the mud and It's alright to stuck in mud with porsche dakar cause it's not a fully offroad car like SUV's but it did great . 💯❤ Love this review!
Imagine being able to let loose with a 91 Dakar on that dirt environment. The stuff of dreams.. Mat livin everyones dream in this.
Mat is always up to something amazing
He is a good guy
Is amazing as even The Stig.
He's a gem
What a phenomenal livery, I love it
Omg matt watson, you really are the fourth brother of Clarkson, Hammond and May 😂😂😂😂❤
Labe To78, this Dakar Porsche is amazing to ride but not when facing the mud.
I would love to see Matt make car content with them
Let's appreciate the camera men and the entire team 👏👏👏👏👏 They are really doing well ❤❤❤
the way you're just uploading such amazing videos on different topics with just an amazing quality. you also talk about different things that we, car people are interested in. I would be so proud. amazing job carwow and matt ❤
This has to be the most fun car Porsche has produced in the last ten years
Good to see Mat doin well
Matt once again doesn't disappoint

I love the fact that you're clearly a little unhinged but still manage to put a great video review together, Mat! Probably the best review I've seen of this beast!
This has got to be peak performance for living in a major metropolitan. Porsche performance, eats potholes, no problem in snow.
Having some fun with these cars you are test driving is like just telling us that they are actually fun to drive 💯😁
Been waitin for this one!❤❤❤
Great review Mat!
I think the Senegalese people🇸🇳 feel very proud💪🏻😌 when they see a video about this car😅 Greetings to y'all from Algeria🇩🇿❤️
Love this. If I’d the money, I’d have one. Rothmans colour scheme so cool
Yeah coz your daft and you think an unreliable junk heap that's roof blows off because they couldn't even be bothered buying proper epoxy resin is a cool car. This thing is a tragedy I know exactly who porsche are trying to con with this but if I said it the comment would be removed under racist algorithms or the channel itself. Carwow have an abysmal reputation in the UK car community for deleting comments and shadow banning.
Love the mud watson format
I love that you did this with the car stuck win the mud. Totally brilliant.
Best episode in a Long long time! More please!
I dont think there's mud in Dakar 🥴
If you follow the latest 2023 edition of Dakar then you will be surprised by the amount of mud caused by rain in the middle of the desert.

@@sharpiefatah3657 Because the terrain itself is arguably far harsher than what you can do back in the 70s/80s, hence why the cars evolved to what we know today.
There's a place where something similar to this car can go to and it's called Dakar Classic which participants go through an relatively easier terrain compared to the actual route.
Porsche Rep. : That's ok, we'll just up the ADM fees on all our other cars suckers
Congratulations on 8 million subscribers 🎉❤
Way cool. I could see myself in a Safari Dakar in the Australian Outback. Unlike most people, I would use this AWD vehicle off-road.
Thank you for entertaining and sharing.
Matt really took that dakaar to the cleaners😂😂
The fact that Mat can talk while doing drifts like that is insane
Why🤔
Very beautiful paint work.
Whatever comes out of Porsche factory is genius work, period. 911 Dakar rules 🔥
Hi Matt👋 For the next drag race I think you should do some built vs bought stuff this time.😎🤔 And your Videos are awesome and very entertaining for me as a car enthusiast!
Fun cars. Need more of those in the world
you giggling while driving it told me everything I needed to know 😍
love the paintjob on this
This is the perfect sports car for British roads. You cannot enjoy a traditional sports car on our potholed roads

All a gworl's jeep can do is drive to the starbucks drive through and to the mall
would be nice to see a Race between that Porsche Dakar and Yianni in the Lamborghini Sterrato 😍
Best car review ever!
I hope we’ll see on your Channel in future direct comparison of Lambo Sterrato and this Porsche Dakar. That could be quite cool, would be ?
I would love to have seen the cleaning of it :p

It may take forever to take that out of the mud.
Cool Porsche looks fun .
I love what Porsche and Lamborghini are doing with these more rugged supercars
I love how excited he is for his new car XD like a kid with a new toy haha
Porsche really shows they are all about fun with their cars, and that’s quite honorable!
Great toy for the oil barrons.

Mat is living the dream for us gentlemen.
Mat is a proper car reviewer comparable to JC, he would rock Top gear if he was on it as well. Mat thank you for bringing great content.
Nice video 📸
Matt, it’s called 911 Dakar (sand/gravel) and not 911 Russia (mud) for a reason 🤣😂 That route is for Rubicons and Broncos on 30+ M/T. The video is quite short, seems Porsche wasn’t really impressed. 😅
The 911 Dakar has equally impressive 0 to 60 time like the 959.
Porsche ain't impressed? 😂😂 have they spoke to their customers recently? They are changing hands at months old as owners are scared of the abysmal reliability they have now. They couldn't even be bothered using decent epoxy resin to glue their roofs down. While all you are still making out this brand is a good brand of car they were busy getting themselves to the BOTTOM of the reliability charts. Yes Porsche are officially more unreliable than Land Rovers. Get your heads around that one kids.
@@bigduphusaj162 Porsche Vehicles are efficient, you just don’t know how to take care of one. You’re clearly the kid here.🤣
I took my 2023 Macan GTS from NYC to Moab, UT and off-road on Shafer Canyon Road, and had the time of my life! (And a flat tire on my way out.) If I had the Dakar, I would absolutely do the same--less the flat!
It's like Porsche saw all the crappy pothole riddled roads down here in South Africa and thought calling it a Porsche Mzansi might be a little on the nose😅. Love it😍😍
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!!
Manchester, Jamaica PRESENT 💪🏿

Man did mat get into the car with those shoes
i think that this is one of the models that customers will actualy use
The pitch looks lovely, lads))
Just appreciate the Matt's level, so that Porsche agreed o give him this rare care even knowing how this will end
Can they make a cheap version with a cayman for like $100k?!? 😂😂😂 I can’t afford this thing but Its what I always wanted. (I’ll end up safari ing a 996 c4) 😞
Get a trashed 996 Turbo and have the fun of a manual

Love this version of the 911
loved the car !!!!! will own it one day crazyyyyyy funn
This is the most offroading this car will ever do 😆
Maybe I missed it, but wouldn't this car require off road tyres too?
They are offroad tyres and this car should not be offroad its an insult to my intelligence. This is nothing more than an exercise to get a certain part of the world to buy up a parts bin car. Nothing more nothing less. Its not even legal for Dakar so that alone will ensure this thing is forgotten about in rapid fashion and another VAG parts bin disaster
Smart idea to do the exterior while beached in mud. love it
i live near the Dirtfish rally school in Washington State US. the Global Rally Cross has had a few races at the school. The first one they hosted, a Sweetish driver was racing a 911. was so fun to see a Porsche being driving in those conditions. if i had the funds, i would get this one in a heart beat
Fantastic fun there!!
Glad you enjoyed it and I did watching - plenty of years in 4x4 on muddy roads in Africa so I know how you felt - except I had1/3 the power!!
Al.
This livery is epic!
Cheers Matt. Bonkers car and a bonkers review to match!
We definitely need to see an offroad battle between this and the Lamborghini Sterrato
