👉 RESIN SAFETY ADVICE • Alumilite Explains: Ep...
End music "Charlie's Song" written and produced for me by Sera, of Portiko. All other music is produced via AI on Suno
For anyone wondering, it's also called "UV Sculpting gel" and has been around a while in the nail/manicure industry
Yes, this is a nail art product. Daniel uses a lot of nail art stuff. Fun isn't it. Thanks for reminding me of the other name for it
Ok makes sense now it is made for brushes than I think
Right..I was like don’t tell them about all the other #62728 million resins we use for nails lol. There’s a harder sculptable one.. a squeezeable one that’s like icing… maybe y’all should check out other artists who create using resin differently
This solid gel was used in the nail art industry, and a lot of them are hypoallergenic however, if you’re not using it all the time you’ll be fine. A trick is add some alcohol to your hands and your gel won’t stick to your fingers or slip solution that is used with poly gel you can use that as well it’s just a, very viscous gel that only cures when exposed to UV light so you have plenty of time to work with it. That’s the best part about this cool new gel! I love what you did with the flower it came out beautifully!😊
Ah ok thanks for the tip. Yes I have the tube versions for nail art.
That's beautiful. Love it.😊❤
Thank you! 😊
Delightful❣️
Thanks @illuminatedlady, I am so glad you liked it. It was a fun one to make
It's gorgeous 😍
Thank you! 😊
Thank you Tracey, this is lovely isn't it. I love the colour, it's very pretty. I'll have a look at the UV clay, maybe cheaper than UV resin? Thanks for sharing. Take care, xx❤❤😊😊
The link for it is in the video description. Prices vary. I don't use cheap UV because of the lack of compliant chemical safety data and a load of bad experiences with curing. but the cheap version of this stuff seems OK and I did get the info on it too
Real sorcery 😅,who would say that nail art supplies could create wonderful resin creations too😍😍💜💜.
Love this handmade mold and that flower, the ethereal pigments add extra beauty to it.And love your giggles and surprised reactions after touching this gel,Ms Tracey😁😍😍😍💜💜
😊 thank you, glad you found it fun. Yes a lot of nail art stuff is great with Resin. Daniel Cooper uses lots of nail art stuff and I know he's not alone. I should do more. I have a cupboard full as yes, my nails are real lol
❤❤❤
Thanks @UnityByNature, I am so glad you liked it. It was a fun one to make
OH WOW this turn out beautiful !!
Thank you so much!
Love how your flower tuned out Tracey 🥰 I brought some of this a few weeks ago after watching Tea & Art but have not had chance to used it yet as hubby has been up and down the hospital for the last two weeks.
Tea and Art does some wonderful things with it
Lovely little flower. I did exactly the same with that gel from Temu when I saw Daniel Cooper use it! It's literally just arrived & haven't used yet but looks really cool. Thank you for sharing 🙂
It's so good! Great fun stuff :)
Really beautiful ❤️
Thanks :)
Love the flower, it's so pretty & fragile
Thank you @kymmcmaster6715! I'm so glad you like this one
I received some of that glue/clay when I ordered my press on nails. It was supposed to keep the nails on because of using the UV light but didn't work well at all, so now I will have another use for the glue/clay. Thank you for sharing with us.
Isn't it great when you find other uses for stuff :) Clad this video was of interest, thanks for commenting
Oh my God 😲
This is absolutely beautiful 😊
Excellent creativity ❤
Thank you so much 😀
Tea and Art does alot with this clay.
Daniel found this on Tea and Art 💖
Yes, hence I link her in the video description, I found it from Daniel as I said but have since seen Tea and Art's work. It's been around for years as a nail art product :)
Yes which is why I linked her in the video description
Tea & Art uses a barrier cream for stuff like this. I got some resin in my hair recently. Hairdresser was very freaked out & now I have a weird clump.
The flower is stunning. I gotta get me some of that clay. Thanks Tracey.❤
Thanks for the tip! Yes a few people have mentioned Vaseline too. ohhh yes, hair, done that too. Ended up cutting it out :(
Wow that turned out way better than I first thought, there are so many possibilities for using and sculpting with this stuff, thanks for sharing xx
Glad you liked it!! There's more ideas on Daniel Cooper and Tea and Art's channels - the links for both are in the video description
@@miniscenesgb I also follow Daniel x
I've had a tub of that sitting in my craft room for a month or more thanks to Daniel! Not attempted it yet though...
Have fun when you do :)
Editing software was excellent at removing noise lol. The results are EXCELLENT, I love it xxx
Yes I was surprised how well it got rid of the noise. I could hardly hear myself think lol
❤🎉 it's beautiful
Thank you @melissaphillis7247! I'm so glad you like this one
😊
Glad you like it :)
Thats very pretty
Glad you like it
The flower is so dainty and beautiful. That gel looks brilliant. Thanks ❤
It really is! Glad you like it
Glad you like it
Pretty! 💜
Another crafter I follow have used uv clay for quite awhile and she coats her fingers with petronleum jelly to prevent sticking. She's a master sculpter and does freehand flowers, animals and figures with it!? She never wears gloves though (unless she does epoxy resin) but maybe it works with the jelly and gloves, just to be on the safe side?
That's a great tip, thanks Mizz
That is beautiful, you could do so many projects with it. Absolutely stunning 🥰
Yes, loads of possibilities I think
What an interesting idea. Very pretty. Love the iridescent powder you used. It brought it to life
Thanks. Yes I love that powder. it's from Toonpish Crafts
That is very interesting. Glad you showed us.
Thanks @joanstone4162, I am so glad you liked it. It was a fun one to make
Very interesting stuff. I must go investigate. Excellent results!
Go for it! It's fun to work with. As some have pointed out, as it's intended for nail art, it should be safe. Sounds like some use vaseline on their hands or gloves to stop it sticking
the gold pen really makes it very elegant, lovely!
Thanks. I do love the Resin Edges pens
Beautiful! Great mold! Thannk you. ❤
Glad you like it!
I love it! I love your ideas, Julie. This turned out very interesting and funny at the same time ❤
Thanks so much! 😊 I'm Tracey by the way :)
Hi Tracey such a pretty flower 😍, cool stufff, teaandart uses this stuff alot, thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ xxx
She does :) It's sure fun to use
Daniel is inspiring many of us to try new things, and that is a beautiful flower! And I have some ordered from when he made pearls! And hey I didn't notice the background noise as the lawn was beening tended here and they use a large standing riding mower! I thought it was just them so had a laugh!
Lol noisy times all round then :)
That came out absolutely gorgeous! ❤❤❤
Thank you! 😊
@@miniscenesgb you are very welcome.
Gorgeous !!! 🩵🩵🩵
Thank you!!
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Hi as a nail tech....if u put some clean up solution on your gloves ....it will evaporate so just dab when it's sticky again....I always opt for bare hands....but yeah maybe try glovea and cleanup/dipping/alcohol 1st lol ....ps new here and ur videos are great ❤
Sorry just saw other similar comments🙈
Thanks for the tip!
Very Gorgeous Tracey 😍
Thanks so much 😊
I got some of that and yet to use it 😅 that is BEAUTIFUL ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you @tammytoth5874! I'm so glad you like this one
That turned out so nice Tracey. I had a woman come across my timeline who did sculptures with this.
I bet it's be great for that sort of thing. So many possibilities
Shalina from Tea and Art uses this...and to keep it from sticking, she just puts a bit of Vaseline on her gloves first!! 😊
Yes, she's referenced in the video description. I love her work. A few people have mentioned vaseline, it's a great idea
I have this same product, and I put mica powder on my gloves to eliminate the stickiness. Hope this helps!
Good idea Deb thanks.
That would be a gorgeous brooch!
Good idea :)
Software worked great never heard background noises
Yay for Capcut. It was proper loud. I thought I'd have to re-record the whole thing
Mold is “silicone hibiscus flower mold” on Temu.
The link for where I bought it from is in the video description
Still haven't bought me a pot 😂Daniel actually found this on Tea and Art, this lady is a Sculptress, makes amazing floral work if you want to peek 💖
Yes I know of Tea and Art, she's wonderful. I saw it on Daniel's channel, then found it on hers too :)
That is really pretty Tracey ❤
Thank you @WendyBurtenshaw-yl2hs! I'm so glad you like this one
It's original purpose is for sculpting nail decoration for nail gel. So you probably are okay.
When I do my nails I just use alcohol as a slip and cleaner.
Don't hear any of the yard work until you showed them working. 😊
Glad my video editing worked on the noise. It was a right racket lol. Yes that's a good point, as it's intended for nails, it should be safe. I have no idea why I hadn't thought of that :)
Beautiful
❤
It's beautiful.. and I couldn't hear any noise from outside.. I have some of that but didn't know what to do with it till now.. thanks for the inspiration
I'm glad my editing lost the noise. it was a terrible racket :) I;m glad this has given you some ideas
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Superb 😍😍💜💜,is this called nail builder gel too I have got something like this, tried to recreate broken end of my phone case, but it didn't cure properly with my mini uv lamp,so I used uv resin instead 😀.
Your flower mold is gorgeous,ms Tracey and such lovely uv clay flower made from it.The ethereal gives it another beauty 😍😍💜, totally mesmerized by that flower and its colors 😍
Glad you like it Sudha. Yes, that's what I knew it as for nail art, just not seen it in tubs before, only tubes :)
This stuff is used for nails, so it shouldn’t be too bad to use with hands. I wonder if you only partially cure and then add the powder, so you wouldn’t need to back it.
Certainly worth a try and good point :)
Use Vaseline on your hands or gloves etc. that will cut the stickiness.
Great tip, thanks
Oh also this gel is in the resin family so that’s why a lot of products that nail industry uses work beautifully for resin art.
Yes absolutely
I was so happy learning this too because I had SO MUCH NAIL DECO, being a Nail Tech, I hated to give it all away, but it has come in so handy doing resin pieces! 👍 I love your channel and have learned so much from you! Thank you and continued success as an artist and as an influencer!🥰👏
@@Roulettegrl67 I'm so glad :) Thanks for your kind comments
A little mineral oil or petrolium jelly on your gloves, will keep it from sticking.
Thanks for the tip :)
I bought the clay too 😂 still don't know what I'm gonna do with it because I had the same stick to your gloves issues and I don't like the thought of handling it but from what I've read it's supposed to be skin safe. Maybe someone can come up with a solution for it sticking to your gloves like baby oil or something that won't prevent it from curing as well.. just a thought.. beautiful results girl! Much love 💕🥰♥️
Yes Tea and Art uses things like that to stop the sticking :)
@@miniscenesgb oh I hadn't seen her use it yet I'll have to go through her videos and see!
Very pretty, now wondering what else I could do with it 🦆💕
Yes i think there's so many possibilities
Ive got a pot of this sitting on my table starting at me 😂 I’m too scared to try it
Lol go for it. It's hellishly good fun
that looks so cool
It's fun stuff. I felt like a big kid lol
Have you tried adding the color pigmented powders?
Not yet but I see mo reason why it wouldn't work
Have you tried the dipping resin yet I would love to see it if you have
Still on my to do list . Plan to soon though :)
I know you know this, but you can develop a massive allergic reaction to UV/epoxy at ANY time! It's terrifying and painful (trust me). I would rub my gloves with alcohol or slip solution (used when using uv resin nails) on your gloves before touching it, and it won't stick to you. The alcohol will, however, penetrate and degrade your gloves quicker so you need to make sure what the breakthrough time is against alcohol.
Just trust me, you dont want to EVER become allergic to the craft you love ❤❤❤❤
Yes, hence my comments on the video and the mass of safety advice on my channel. I've made whole videos on it
Wow, that turned out gorgeous!! It does look like a pain to deal with though… I am sensitive to resin, so I’d have to use gloves… 😒
\a few people hve shared tips about how to stop it sticking to gloves, Vaseline seems to be the top tip. That could make it less of a pain :) Iit sure is fun
I believe she uses a little bit of silicone oil on her gloves or Vaseline so it is not so sticky.
Specially if sculpting things.
Yes :)
I use this kind of stuff to put my nails on!
Yep it is another crossover from nail art. I'd not come across it before but apparently it's been around for years. must be the only nail art product I'd missed lol
It has many different names! You can use water or alcohol on your fingers, the warmer it is the sticker it is.
Interesting, thanks for the info
Does it stay tacky or needing a “seal” of some sort to be pleasant to touch and not collect dust? As most UV resin never loses that sticky unless you coat it with something (I use triple thick)
I no it's fine, it's just UV resin in clay form. UV resin shouldn't be sticky when cured. I never coat it
I bet you could mix resin dye in with this.
I thik so yes, worth a try
These flowers would be pretty in a lit clear water bowl so the light could glow through the clear center. Just let them float or make short stems, that attach at the bottom ,with this to secure them up at the water line. Tea and Art uses this as a sculpture clay as well. She make beautiful things. Check her out.
Great idea! Yes, Tea and Art is already mentioned in the video description, I'm a long time fan of her work too
@@miniscenesgb I like watching her use this clay but have not bought any yet. Is there an odor with it?
@@kimclayton5814 not really no. And as some have pointed out - it should be safe too as it is a nail art product that has been around for years. Lots of possibilities I think
and if you let it sit, some will very slightly self level out finger prints.
Interesting again, thanks :)
Daniel had some trouble, too, I think. I just can't remember what he did.
A couple of people have mentioned vaseline, maybe that was it. I;ll go back and li=ook at his and Tea and Art's videos again
Don’t use bare hands pls ❤ unless you want cancer.theres a reason why nail techs have the highest in the world
they don't have the highest in the world.. and the incidences are to do with the UV, not the safe sculpting gel
You could make your own mold from that now if you want a pouring option xxx
Great idea :)
@@miniscenesgb I’m frantically racking my brain to think of why I need to buy the UV clay. I don’t need it but want it haha! X
@@ShellsSpace_MyEndobattle \oh get some, you know you have to lol
I discovered it after watching #teaandart!! It’s better without gloved hands and dead handy for repairing beaks on bird statues - long story!
Lol, I won't ask :) I imagine it does have a lot of uses for things like that though. Seems like proper handy stuff
Where did u get the clay
The link is in the video description for the clay :)
It seems to be thixotropic! Try banging a lump of it on the table and see if it responds by stiffening for a minute. Like silly putty.
lol I actually did and it just stuck to the table lol. A few people have suggested things like silicone oil or vaseline on my gloves, might try that nest time
@@miniscenesgb 🫢😳😬Sorry!
I should have filmed it - it was very funny lol
use a bit of vaseline on your gloves :)
Thanks for the tip
Are there fumes?
This is one I don't use a respirator for - as nail artists don.t and this stuff is usually for tir use - so I can answer this question - no, at least, nothing that I can really smell
@@miniscenesgb thank you! Awesome work!
Absolutely gorgeous!
Glad you like it :)
