As soon as I saw the Victoria Halfcrown, I thought "It's an 1887!" - they always are. I have THREE 1887 Shillings, in slightly better condition, but they are so common! I do have an 1888 the same though. I have another 1887 Shilling, not in as good condition, but it's the different Young Head! My BEST Shilling is a superb George IV 1824 - Uncirculated with the most beautiful blue toning - an absolute stunner! It cost me £30 in 1989 - yes, I've owned it for 35 years. I also have 2 nice William IV Shillings, 1834, and 1836, plus an excellent Young Head Victoria from 1865, with die number 11. I don't collect much now though.
Really nice 1887 Half Crown and a real bargain - well done ! I have a similar grade 1887 (having only very very recently started collecting silver) but it more than £12 . You did well with the low tide , I had no idea of the price of them, I think I have 5 or 6 found this year randomly in coin hunts, the best was last week - for a circulated coin it was super condition and upgrade and has gone directly into the tray. Thanks again !
The 1887 half crown was a cracking buy and a beautiful coin. However I think my favourite was the low tide variety penny, just a terrific discovery from a basket of coins.
A nice hunt ethan, well done. The 1887 H/C, an absolute bargain. You're correct about the broaching, I have one in EF grade and on the reverse is 2 little blobs of solder or something like it, obviously was once used as a broach. Possibly a soldering iron could remove it, but I don't want to damage the coin.
I would be like a kid in a set shop! 😂 Last year I visited an antique coin shop in Matlock, and there were a few bags of old pre-decimal pennies for about £5-£6 each. I noticed that one bag had a particular interesting dated coin in it. It was a low minted 1951..result 👍. I have just recent obtained on eBay 2 x 1919KNs, and a 1950 penny plus bought 39 silver shillings from 1900-1936 for just under £2 per coin 😊
Who puts price stickers directly on the coins? C'mon that either makes the coins all sticky or makes people clean the coins. Both are not something that helps a coins value. But those are some smoking good purchases. Silver below melt is always welcome in my collection.
Anywhere you can buy silver for under spot price is great, but you managed to get a bit of numismatic interest too. Looks like certain British antique shops are a decent source for random old silver coins….
Wow..that half crown…beautiful…well bought!
Thanks 🙏👍

1951 is definitely a great find
Your 1944 6d - the seller wrote Geo V - it's Geo VI.
Very well noticed
Some great pick ups there👍 can I ask where you got your jubilee display case from? I would like to to get one for my coins
Thanks
Just search "coin case" on eBay
Agree the 1887 got one in good condition also 🏴👍
Thanks 🙏👍

Definitely a bad move with the stickers

Definitely thanks 🙏
Nice half crown
Thanks for watching
I think you are a bit optimistic with the melt values of the threepences, you can almost see through them.
Some were pretty worn
You should have spent 100 on the 50p silver scrap then buy th other coins from profit
I bought all the cheap silver I could
But yes I would like to have bought all the silver I could
90%of the coins for sale in that shop are worthless tat.
You got some amazing coins on this pick up 😊👍⚓️🧲
Thanks 👍
