    I hate that demos are not consistent and you may not get a demo if you are super sonic going into the back of someone who is subsonic, and not only that, but sometimes if they are sub sonic and you are super sonic, they might be able to demo you randomly

    • @Rocket_Sledge
      @Rocket_Sledge  Рік тому

      None of it is really random. It can seem like it, but it comes down to an understanding of the rules of demos and the realities on online interactions between multiple users. It's never going to look perfect but if you get demo'd it's because according to the server the demo rules were satisfied, if you dont get the demo then the reverse is true. "Be supersonic" is just one of the rules, but it's a simple one that can't really break. But it could look like they werent supersonic to you and that can be confusing.

    • @GrepidYT
      @GrepidYT Рік тому +1

      @@Rocket_Sledge I don't doubt any of what you're saying, but I've played this game for a good few thousand hours now, and Demos are one of the things that are the least consistent out of everything I've ever seen in the game.
      9/10 times if I raise an eyebrow to something that felt weird or looked weird, it was a demo interaction.
      I just wish that seeing the opponents cars would be more reliable, however as someone who does not develop multiplayer games, I don't know how difficult it would be, or what is the theoretical maximum on accuracy they could even achieve over the internet.
      Eitherway, thank you for your response, even to a 2 year old video. Cheers

    I understand your point but I will NEVER agree with people who demo constantly. I agree and understand that it's part of the game but after I finally got to diamond rank I was so discouraged. What I thought was going to be good mechanics and technical efforts that separate the good from the bad became demos Constantly. I was so discouraged I almost quit the game entirely. To focus solely on demo's instead of all the effort it takes to have good teamwork and mechanics is so sad to me. I was very let down when playing with higher ranked people. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting. Maybe I should adjust my thoughts but at the moment I even now still feel discouraged. I thought playing with higher ranks I'd experience good mechanics and skill and teamwork instead all I've experienced is demo demo demo and no true pure mechanical skill.

    • @Rocket_Sledge
      @Rocket_Sledge  2 роки тому +1

      Demos amounts increasing with rank has been a reality for years. I think you can take solace that despite what people say (or even what you experience) the amount of demos is still so low that it hardly should be a concern. The average diamond 2v2 game has 2 demos, in Champ it's 2.5, and GC barely over 3. True you might meet the odd person that chases them, but you should beat players like that easily. If you are getting demo'd more than 0.5 per game on avg that might be a you problem. Because that is the current player avg.

      If that was true, I think you'd expect a guy like me to know and explain that to you, right? As I talked about a little in that same section, online interaction means cars might not be exactly where they appear on screen. So the server implements the demo rules, but it doesn't look "right" to you in game (or even the replay). These visual errors will always be a part of Rocket League, and is actually due to something that makes the game better in most cases. I explain further in this video that I've time stamped for you: ua-cam.com/video/y8X8b03tXJQ/v-deo.html

    This comment is extremely late but eh whatever. I've found that avoiding a demo chaser and avoiding someone who is using it as a mechanic are two completely different scenarios. A demo chaser makes their attacks obvious and makes it super avoidable. People who use it as a mechanic are much more unpredictable and less annoying to play against because you don't even expect the demo. It gets annoying when you're being focused by a toxic player, but I've found myself laughing at either my poor positioning or the fact that I got jump scared by a demo when facing against someone using demos tactically

    WTF!? I understand you want/need ad revenue, but THREE VIDEO COMMERCIALS INTERRUPTIONS IN UNDER 7 MINUTES?! And they were ALL THE SAME 15s COMMERCIAL AND UNSKIPPABLE! I wish people would follow the rule of TV ads. Get your ad before and after, and I will let them play. But when during, they should be no more than 10-15 minutes apart. It REALLY upsets the flow of the video. So, unless your video is 20-30 minutes long, NO INTERRUPTIONS! If I get one more like this from you, I'm unsubscribing, and I have done this to quite a few UA-camrs, and I'm sorry to see them go, but my time is important, and waiting 45s+ per 7 minutes is outrageous! I just spent 10% of that time watching ads. Imagine if you were watching an old Looney Toons cartoon, but every two minutes, an ad popped up. Would you still watch it? NO! The flow of what you are watching is lost, so you are not interested anymore.

      I think you got a super-unlucky trifecta here. My ad-rates are not any more than any other RL youtuber (some are actually worse) and I make sure to put them in natural breaks in the video. Unfortunately I dont have control over *what* type of ad you see. UA-cam is suppose to do it smartly. Typically you would see 2 banners (that don't stop the video) and maybe one skippable/unskippable.
      I get the frustrations, I do. But I guess the other way to look at it the question: is a content creator's time important and should it be compensated? How much should they get after spending 30 to 40 hours making a video? 3-ad spots is pretty standard, but yes I agree 3 video-stopping un-skippable ads is dirty. That's not a common occurrence.
