  • Today's walk was a short but very special one. Latrigg is one of the smallest and easiest Wainwrights and yet it has some wonderful views. After doing some research we found the Limited Mobility Access Path was suitable for the entire family, so a plan was hatched.
My mum and dad love the hills, they used to take my sister and I hiking when we were kids, in fact we did Snowdon in our wellies when I was just 6 years old! Both my parents now struggle with their health and my mum especially struggles with her mobility. However, after doing some research we decided even my mum could make it up to the top of Latrigg.
So along with my sister and her husband we all headed out for the afternoon. We were currently on a family holiday in the Lake District and we were only staying a few miles down the road. So it was a short drive up to the car park and then a nice simply walk up to the summit.
It was quite breezy on top but it didn't stop us enjoying the views out over Keswick with Derwent Water in the distance. This was a lovely little walk and I think this limited mobility path is suitable for most people, so it's a great option if you want a short walk to a great viewpoint.
