I remember this show as a kid. And also the American Sportsman with Curt Gowdy. And I was blessed to have a love of nature and fishing etc. Reminded because of a Mutual of Omaha commercial :-)

I was in St. Augustine in September and my wife and I stayed in a Victorian bed and breakfast called Cedar House Inn. We had meant to spend a night there but we loved the town so much we ended up spending 3 days there.

He said that many animals have gone extinct here because of humans; I only know of the passenger pigeon; possibly some other small birds and fish. Humans, when they realized the danger, helped to save the condor, the eagle, the bison, the wolf, the cougar, the beaver, and many other species that had been in trouble. I don't think our record as a species is so reprehensible.
