Thanks for tipp. I use 11L now and a guy tried to convince me to buy 3* 18L instead. I use minerals and water every 2nd morning. Perfect for me. I will keep 11L so I dont waste soil
I used 15 gallon pots over 10 gallon and I had no deficiencies and my largest harvest ever. With mistakes made. Makes a huge difference growing organically. Feeding once is all that is needed.
I missed it due to being out of town with the fam. For vacation. But none the less. GT you fing rock. You're the man. Thanks for everything as always. I feel like a 5 gallon plastic bucket is the ultimate final container for a container plant indoors. Anymore is a waste. It needs less watering, and the roots have a deep space to go. Also, with fabric pots, look up the umbrella effect, the water just goes right around the actual dirt.
Fabric is great. There's infinite proof on the web how great it works. It's just personal preference. I switched back to plastic to reduce frequency in watering related to las vegas dry climate. Never had problems either way.
@Shrewparadox yeah I grew fabric outdoors and indoors for many years...but I recently switched to buckets after being tired of watering daily on hot summer days like these. The buckets give me extra days of water.
9:00 I do that too! Ill use plastic pots for vegging but I always finish in a fabric pot. I can break the ball out of the big fabric pots because plants are done chopped by then, and yes, vegging with plastic pots makes it SO much easier to transplant from.
I like the analogy Jeremy at BuildASoil uses, think of the amount of soil as a battery. The larger the amount the more it has to give and the longer you can go between recharging it (food/water).
I grew a White Widow auto from ILGM in a 9 fl oz solo cup. I think I got a little over an oz. I also topped the plant. She only had 6 tops. I had to water twice a day but probably should have watered 3 times a day. It was always super dry by the next watering.
I used to flower in a 5gal and 4 plants in my 4x4. I started using 7gal pots and 3 plants, but give them more time in the 3gals to veg.. I start with solos for 4wks. Then, 1gal for 3.5-4wks. Then 3gals for 2-4wks. Then, ive been going to 7gals to go into flower with. I am also reducing plant count the whole time too. I usually start 6-10 seeds. By the time they're ready for flower, I'm down to 3 plants but those 3plants PACK my 2x4, so, yeah, time for flowering in my 4x4. Lol
Put two plants outdoors in different size pots and see which one grows bigger…root space does indeed make a diffidence as I can train my outdoor plants in ground to have wide roots which produces a much bigger plant, this year my plants were all between 10-14 feet tall and wider than they are high.
I like big pots I don't have to water every day and I save on fertiliser bye having good compost I have seen a plant grow out of a crack in the concrete path no soil under the concrete just rock hard clay we feed it got half pound plant I know clay has nutrients but it was hard under 8 inches of path 20 years the path had been there.a buckof water once a week I was surprised hello from Australia
I like to finish in 7gals because my health isn't great and don't have as much energy as I used to have. Plus, the less "load" I put onto my heart, the better. I was flowering in 5gals, but went to 7gals recently just to reduce workload a little bit, due to health reasons....
I have been growing autos. My pot size matters. I grow in both 5 &7 gallon pots.. if I grow an auto in a 3 gallon the pot will make it start flowering earlier won't it? I would think it would but not sure. What's your opinion on autoflower pot size? Love what you do thanks.
Great content on your channel! Any thoughts why my leaves always turning yellow during week 2-3 of flower? Im using only organics and only tapwater in the reservoir. (Autopots) i previously used the whole biobizz line (with airpots) but at this grow i only use the soil from biobizz (biobizz light mix) and then im trying out the biotabs program (biotabs classic strategy) with some 3.9 gallons Autopots. I did follow the biotabs schedule using mycotrex, bactrex, orgatrex at the beginning of the grow, then i only did tap water since. I vegged for 4 weeks and all plants looked super healthy, but in week two of flower i started to see yellowing on some of the leaves. I made a solution with 10 gallons of water and 3 teaspoons epsom salt each gallon. (Total around 170 grams) dunno if thats too much or too little? But now im in week 3 and the yellowing is getting worse slowly. Its also this week im gonna topfeed bactrex / orgatrex mix again and for the last time according to biotabs schedule. Im hoping this will make things a little better? I have an airpump to blow air in the reservoir for not letting the water stagnant but people say i dont need to, when i only have tapwater in the reservoir and not nutrients, and the air will also raise the pH. My pH in the reservoir is around 8-8.5 and temp is 26-28 celcius. But from what i understand and according to Autopots / Biotabs / Biobizz i dont need to adjust pH / EC / PPM when using organics? Is that correct? Many people say that the pH is way too high causing the problem, but i have been growing autoflowers too with same nutrients, water etc. and under same environment and they dont show any signs of yellowing leaves? That only leaves me confused. What's your experience?

That may be the case for sythetics. For organics, the amount of nutrients available are very much dependent on the volume of soil
@@cpereirahome correct, this is for a supplemented soil or coco based grow

slow water from the stalk to the bag i nvr had a issue with the water just going passed the soil
@hunter1776 either one works...I just think the buckets are less messy and you can just dump and go lol

This is for an indoor growtent. Not out doors
So this applies to all growing mediums? Like living soil? I think tbis may only apply to bottle fed salts.
