I've been using Gaia green and I know it takes about a week or so to get into the medium broken down so instead of every 3 weeks on the 3rd week feeding I've been feeding every 2 weeks so that it has enough time to break down and get into the medium and be available for the plant it seemed to do pretty good because I feel like it's only taken up what it wants and if there's a little extra food it doesn't have to take it up call broscience but that's what I feel
As an old soil grower i always start to panic right before the calyx swell and start to have nightmares about whispy buds but if you did everything right, they'll be straining under their own weight in a couple weeks.
Keep a standard operating procedure for your grow even if it's just a 4x4 tent grow. Keep a log, and follow a daily schedule. Everyone is different, and we live in different environments. Less is more in most cases, but timing is definitely the key to success.
There is some skill involved here! You gotta write everything down! Note things you see that are odd. When your staring at your garden and thinking what do I do today they I didn’t do yesterday. LOL, zip up the tent and go sit down. Burn one and chill. Do nothing!
Yup. I left for the holidays and my outdoor patio grow I'm experimenting with took some damage. My indoor grow, dialed in and all, did fantastic while i was gone. Sometimes I over defoliate because I want to tinker with something. Grow more plants and let them be. Between my veggie garden and cannabis, I was busy..now that I've had a couple of surgeries and cannot keep up, im finding that less is way better. I was definitely over doing it.
I switched from soil to hydro recently because of not just the shorter veg times but the size…. And the size comparisons can’t be put into words lol. I love LST, and in HYDRO it’s way more fun because the plant reacts a lot sooner. I have a 5x5 tent with 3 5 gal DWC buckets. Space Berries, Pineapple Haze and Blue Dream. My Blue Dream filled half of the 5x5 in a month. So I had to stunt the other two because the blue dream took to the LST like a champ. Huuuuuge dense buds. Fed nothing but Flora Macro 3 part system, aggressive veg all through till flower, and calmag each feed / tipoff PH’d to 5.9. Keep it simple and show love and care.
I want to jump into Hydro so bad, but scared of those water temps. Lung room is difficult to maintain a consistent even day and night temperature! Maybe one day, wife gave me permission to turn an entire room into grow space. But same thing, I need a new HVAC on the house and additional insulation for that room specifically to pull it off. Maybe in the future I can pull it off!
@@Superlow2015 ohhh dude don’t be. I feared hydro for years, and just like everything else the internet can send you down rabbit holes. My brother does hydro and inspired me to do it. It’s so easy. I got blue lows buckets and in the first week there some small algae buildup, but…. I got some black duct tape, covered the buckets real quick and changed the water. Never an issue again. I’ll top off or change the buckets with 69 degree water, but once it’s going, it is at the nature of the room. Just keep it in an average temperature room. I have my tent in my HVaC room. Have your air pump outside the tent, and make sure your vent tubing for the fan leaves the room so you’re not pumping hot air from the tent back into the room that’s cycling fresh air. In my opinion HYDRO is way easier than soil. I feel like I can control the nutrients better. If I see a deficiency happening I dump the water fix what I need and the plant responds much faster. Of course only my opinion.
@@redghostoutdoors2359 that quick change back to baseline with a simple water change is hands down the best part of hydro aside from the sheer size and shorter veg times. But I had a plant go herm in soil because something was off and I couldn’t get back to baseline quick enough. And those bananas are such a sad thing to see. Never again 😂
@@Superlow2015 the cheapest way to regulate your water temperature using 5 gallon buckets is to create a removable insulation sleeve for the bucket using bubble insulation and duct tape. using this keeps my water temp at a steady 21c and the tent is at a constant 27c. the only way i have avoided the slime is by controlling both the water temp and light leaks. good luck.
I love all the videos, but the old videos are awesome! You have always taught let the plant grow. The video where you completely cut the whole top of the tent with a hedge trimmer is my all time favorite. The best channel out there and I like a few, but GT is the man!
Regarding feed schedules as a new grower it's difficult not to follow what the manufacturer suggests. I'm running Athena Blended line and I feed based off what the chart says. I'm running full nutes everytime also using AC Infinity auto water pots and so far my plants look very healthy. All green, no burnt tips. 2.1 ec in veg and capping out at 2.6 ec in flower. Currently just started week 4 of flower and colas are looking nice. Fingers crossed everything keeps running smooth till harvest.
I'm also running an FC-8000 in a 5x5. Currently at 80% in week 4 at 24 inches above canopy. Average ppfd is 700. So far they're loving it. Will try it out at 100% once they hit week 6 and see how they like it.
Nothing like being rewarded by your plants you care for throughout there life cycle. I LOVE BIG YEILDS, I like to veg for 6-8 months in 20 gallon fabric pots. Thanks GT that helped narrow things down . To me it seems like there’s such a fine line between too much and too little . Now the trick is knowing when the plant wants and needs these things. The signs to look for ,,,, can you make a video on that? Keep up the good work !
Yea its very simple, dont over water, over feed and over light. Just top it once and train the branches, scrog or use plant wires. And people easily build up PPM in their soil or coco because they feed everytime the bucket gets lite.
Genetics and experience is the key. You cant grow every strain with the same plan/timing. BUT once you have grown a few different strains you will learn what timing is best suited to what you have. If growing the same plant over n over take notes dont CHANGE everything or you cant tell what u changed that worked. Just enough of everything is the right amout. Let the roots dry out a lil bit on the surface b4 watering again. Follow nutrient instructions, start at the week end n finish where they say. Use the light the same way. Use it at lower intensity on veg. Stretch that veg to fill your room. Just b4 its full turn your light schedule to 12hrs there will be 1 more week of stretching. At this point your nutrition needs to be light can start lifting together.👍
The first 2 weeks of flower are where you can make or break your grow...first is light potency...I have seen many take the ligjt up to 100% as soon as they go into flower...wrong! I personally veg at 50% and run my first week of flower at 50%...the 2nd week of flower I hit it at 75% light. I will run it like that for 3 weeks then I will go to 100 the last 4/5 weeks. High light demand to early in flower will cause your plant to try and do stuff it's not capable of doing yet as your root zone is not there yet....ease into light intensity
i'm curious if you think that this would apply to hydro? at week 1 of flower my rootball is the the entire 5 gallon bucket and fully formed so in theory blast the light at 100% no?

You always have the right information. This is technically my second grow. Even though my first is about to be harvested. I got a question. With my first grow i found a bad seed throw it in some soil. It took off and grow fantastic in my window. Didnt know much or really anything about growing. But its about time to harvest and i have literally done nothing to the plant and its growing just fine. Doesnt look like any or yours or anyone else's.
