This song has Dio and Meatloaf, two rock legends who've since passed.
RIP
R.I.P. my Rolemodels! And my Heroes!
See you later!
\m/
Oh sh!t Dio died?! Where in seven hells have I been?!
Um yeah. 2010. I feel very dumb. Keep rockin y'all 🤘🖤🤘
yeah, that's Ronnie James Dio, a rock legend. He was 60-something when this was filmed, i think, and his voice was STILL amazing.
Yes. Ronnie James DIO
I know this is a necro, but he brought his own mic to the recording session for this. The studio insisted that he use their mic and actually blew it out with his vocals and told the crew "this is why I bring my own mic." absolute legend.
@@Tomo-1.0and the fact he did his verses in one take is incredible just goes to show how incredibly talented he was
Not only is it Ronnie James Dio, but the dad is Meatloaf, such an epic song
Thanks for doing Kickapoo, Dave! I can tell you for sure that it was Meatloaf singing as JB's father, and it was actually this movie where I learned that Meatloaf started his career in musical theatre! In fact, that's not just him singing, that's Meatloaf himself!
Additionally, that is actually Dio in the poster! One of my favorite stories of Dio is just how strong his voice is! Dio brought a personal mic to the recording booth, but was told he wouldn't need it as he would be provided a mic. After peaking the mic to the point of nearly *shredding* it, he stated "that's why I bring my own."
I had to check, there's a kickapoo township in Kansas city just over the border of Missouri 😂😂😂😂
If you grew up on metal, you’d know who Dio is, but it’s not surprising that you don’t.
Dio was a legendary metal singer. He got started in music on the late 50s, and was part of the hard rock and metal scene from the 60s until his death in 2010. He’s probably best known for his years as the singer for Black Sabbath (he replaced Ozzy) and his solo work.
You should definitely check him out.
He was well known in Rainbow because of Ritchie Blackmore's fame. I personally think he was at his best when he sang with Rainbow.
@@jalkabre5904 He was amazing! I just think he’s currently better known for his output with Sabbath and his solo stuff.
I often go back to watching the original vid these days and still love it though it's gotten a slight bittersweet with having two greats of the industry that have passed on.
I remember going to the cinema high as a kite with 3 friends to see this movie :D we had no idea what we went into!! Best cinematic experience ever!!!
Good for him for changing his mindset about metal and rock. A lot of the hard stuff scares people away but a lot of it has incredible lyricism and complexity in its music. And some of the nices people you will ever meet.
Duda... Gotta watch that movie.. ASAP! You won't regret it...
Dude.... Reaction to the movie..! Come on!
Yo! Great reaction as always!
Dio is revered by many, myself included and for good reason, as an absolute legend of metal and among the greatest vocalists in this genre ever. He might have been a small man, but had the voice of an absolute beast! As mentioned below, or above, however these comments work, he was part of Black Sabbath, Rainbow and had his own band - Dio. I suggest having a look at live performances of his songs;
Dio -Rainbow In The Dark Live In London 2005 - Something to note for this one is that he at this show is 63 years old and still putting on a show like this. The guitarist had said that he was also not doing very well at this gig, due to the cancer that later ended his life.
and
Dio - The Last in Line [Live at The Spectrum 1984]
Another timeless classic is Holy Diver.
Keep up the good work!
Seconding the Last in Line [Live at The Spectrum 1984] suggestion, that's probably one of, if not the best, versions of that song. Not only is Dio's awesome voice on full display, but so is his amazing showmanship.
Ronny James Dio is also famous for this hand sign: 🤘 - it goes back to Dio
One of my favorite movie music sequences ever, alongside the beezlebub battle.
TENACIOUS D - Master Exploder!
Hey you did it!!! Excited for this one.
Always love your reactions and your perspective on music Dave!! :D hope you will soon react to Sabaton Counterstrike the intro is gonna amaze you! ;)
Thanks for doing more tenacious d bro
Ronnie James Dio ... "last in line" "children of the sea" "heaven and hell" "holy diver" musts
RIP meatloaf…. (The father in this scene. legend)
Looks like you need to add some Dio and Meatloaf to your channel. 😉
Dio is credited for starting the trend of 🤘 at rock concerts. His mother (or grandmother) used the gesture to resemble devil horns an attempt to scare him as a child. So any time you rock out with a couple of 🤘🤘, you’ve got Dio to thank!
As for the Loaf, I’d go with “Paradise by the Dashboard Light” or anything from the “Bat out of Hell” album 😁
Jack Black is so awesome that he got Meatloaf and Ronnie James Dio to guest star In a low budget comedy mockumentary about how his band was formed, and then on top of that added Ben Stiller as a cameo and Dave Grohl as the villain... Jack Black is legendary!
Awesome video bro
I will admit to having a little pain in my chest when you didn't recognize Dio lol. You reacted to KSE's cover of his song Holy Diver last year. But hey, on the bright side you've now got new material for the channel! Last in Line, and Rainbow in the Dark are 2 great songs by Dio.
Dude, first reaction should be to Holy Diver for Dio.
@@JPZaGod I would've said so too but the song won't be a 100% surprise to him. At some point definitely the original should be shown some love though.
@@avatar_of_battle4735 Oh don't get me wrong, I love both of the songs you suggested. Big Dio fan, may he rest in peace and rock on in the after-life forever. And you're right, he did react to a cover of Holy Diver so it wouldn't be a total surprise but I definitely love the medieval feel it has with the video!
Continuation for this music video should be the Classico where he met his counterpart that completed their band, Tenacious D.
i live Missouri hell yea
The kid playing Young JB plays the older brother in the show The Goldbergs
Meatloaf has that preacher voice in this. Good stuff.
You have actually reacted to a song sung by dio in the past. The song was stargazer by rainbow
The dad is Meat Loaf. He is singing the part of dad.
“Go forth, my son, and RRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK!!!!!!”
~_~
the dad is Meatloaf... RIP.
Mind blow Rock!
My friends and I actually sing this randomly
You should do a reaction to the whole movie
hahah nice
dont watch the movie eventually...watch it!!! it is worth...its telling about friendship and the magical rock experiance! btw i love your videos :-)
I love that you 'get' it! Yeah, he uses massive profanity, but it's for comic effect; quite a few reactors don't get that. Definitely watch the movie when you get a chance, it's over the top, but funny! Thanks! You're great.
Check out Imperium by Machinehead.
The video of Dio doing his vocals in one take is decent
Just to show how many levels of irony they put together here: religious father wants the child to pray to God and he ends up actually praying to Dio which is God in Spanish and also musically seen as rock/metal god.
Dave, check out grandmas boy, hilarious
That IS meatloaf lol
Hey Dave Let Me Ask You a Question Do You Like WWE Themes Or You Don’t Care Though
I get you saying you had to listen to a lot of rock to get what it was about and find out that it wasn't just "evil music".
While I grew up on rock music, I had opinions on bands I never really listened to. Take Black Sabbath for example; I "knew" it was a band opposed to anything Christian, singing about Satan with Ozzy biting the heads off bats on stage and all, not that I really minded because I liked the music.
But then I started to listen to the lyrics too, discovering that they mostly used that symbolism of evil from Christian belief to describe the terrible fates that you would have if you turned from God, warning about what happens when you fall for the lures of the devil or just encounter evil people. So now I call Sabbath's music "Christian rock", and it sometimes annoys fans unless they have a sense of humour. But who wants to be around people without humour anyway?
where is master exploder reaction
Dave can you do a reaction to adiktheone 38 please
Sure. It will drop tomorrow. Hope it’s good!
Edit. Nevermind it’s age restricted. I already have a warning on my channel so I won’t do that one, you never know.
@@whatitdodave Thats true you do never know youtube be crazy
edit: other youtubers have done reactions but i tottally 100% understand why you dont want to risk it, your awesome!
Yeah the ruling system on UA-cam does not play fair. Do you know the UA-cam “Nemraps”? All of his Try Not to laugh videos got taken down and he even got 2 strikes from it. So he had to private them.
Whilst other UA-camrs (like me) received no such penalty for those same videos. Makes no sense right? I’m ou think your fine cause other UA-camrs did it, next thing you know, your channel is almost gone lol. UA-cam just be wildin sometimes.
@@whatitdodave Exactly and i dont not know Nemraps but what happened to him is not fair
Dio = God, btw.
Dio is the jesus of rock no cap XD
Best bow down and recognize XD
