As a teenage trombonist in the early sixties I wore out all the Urbie LPs (vinyl, I still have them). It's nice to know others appreciate how well he played, especially ballads. He's still incomparable to my ear.
I've been listening to trombones since I discovered Stan Kenton's in 1953. When I hear music and a lead trombone like this I find the hair on the back of my neck still stands up.
I have loved this rich, luxurious sound since I first heard Urbie and his amazing crew create it for Enoch Light over 40 years ago. It's wonderful to find that after all that time, someone else has the same appreciation for the singular character of massed trombones and a deft soloist in the lead. THANK YOU, GUYS!!!
As an arranger I had a HS music teacher that that told me that the trombone and strings were the most purist instruments and so they were the easiest instruments to write for. I have always found that to be true.
God Bless the Netherlands !!! Awesome performance of the trombone master Bart Van Lier, with a graceful intonation and warm sound. Congratulations from Brazil and thank you so much !!!

Its amazing that after 25 years in this business I can still be awestruck by the "magic" that can happen when you get the right cats together !

THANK YOU, GUYS!!!
He’s smooth and always knows where he’s heading, much like Paul Desmond’s smooth sax playing style
A whole new appreciation for the instrument.
Keeo Going !
Beautiful
I miss Bill and love Bart,, that high f right so nice indeed thanks

Thank for posting this and all of the other great clips! The sound of a 20-man trombone ensemble is soooo sweet!
God Bless the Netherlands !!!

I really enjoyed a very authentic interpretation of the works of Urbie Green. Jerê Moreira
SUPER CHORDS WITH TROMBONES!
Beautiful! Sounds like a dream!!!!
applause
Eta coisa mais linda!!!. Trombonada com goiabada. Adorei. Grandes musicos.Parabéns..
Beautiful. I play on Mr. van Lier's .512 and love it. Very nice line of horns.
Urbie!
nice and pleasant
nice improvisation
That would be Mr. Urbie Green, who originally performed this along with many other pieces on the album, 21 Trombones.

If most of the population would be exposed to this kind of music. The world would be in better shape and people not so destructive.
Bruh 3:00 is TOO damn fire🤣🔥
How does he do it?

I'd like to see the vib varied - sometimes lots sometimes little otherwise VERY nice :)
Who arranged this version of Watch What Happens?
Just found the original Urbie Green cover on here. Bart comes real close but the other 21 cats are letting him down in my opinion.
You have to love 3:11, such a glissando :D
This is the only time in history 20 trombone players had gigs.
This is fantastic. No saxes, please and check your trumpets at the door.
Ministro Paulo Guedes virou músicos kkkkk
ich finde es langweilig. sound hin oder her. live macht das aber bestimmt mehr her.
Sorry
i can play the trombone. but not as good as him. i cant get that high. lol.
ist mir zu sehr posaunenchor und zu wenig jazz.
