The prettiest vacuum I have ever seen. I wish everything we used in everyday life was ecstatically pleasing
Right?! I agree!
I might just vacuum more if I had one that cute.😊
I was just about to say something super similar 😅
Yaaasss!!!❤❤❤
I have to admit it is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, but practically speaking those robot vacuums are by far superior. Just turn it on and it does all the work by itself, leaving the person free to do other things, and when finished, it goes back to its rechargeable station. You just can't beat the convenience from a hands free operation.
Johnny Cash is too cute! He wants to help clean. 😊
He is the best helper 😊
I think my favorite thing about your videos is your sign off. Very rarely do people go out of their way to tell someone they hope that they feel safe and loved. It always makes me tear up a little and want to give you a big hug!
Ahh that makes me so happy to hear.
Ah, the memories of dragging a canister vacuum up and down the stairs 😂
Haha they’re pretty heavy!
I’ve never seen a vacuum with its own storage! I love that. There is never enough room in the closet and I don’t have a pantry. What a great idea…and doubles as seating! Fabulous!
Me either! It’s like a cute ottoman!
It used to be common. My mother bought a Kirby in the mid 70s and it came in a box.
She also had a blue box even into the 90s that was an old vacuum box her mother had from the 60s
Core memory flashback! We had that vacuum! I was born in 1968.....
Haha that’s awesome!
I love how they gave you a letter from the manufacturer! They should bring that back.
Yeah I like that touch for sure.
My folks had that vacuum! Connect the hose to the front and blow out anything clogging the hose.😊
Manufactures need to make these again, boxes are absolutely decorative and functional!! And should be made available everywhere!!
As a vacuum collector, this makes me so happy someone is using a vintage machine to clean daily!
ALSO as a tip: this machine has a cloth hose which are notorious for leaking after many years. You can buy “plastic dip” which people will use in cars. You can spray this in the hose while it’s hanging up and it will coat the inside and stop these leaks. 😊
That vacuum definitely gives more 1957 vibes than 67 .
I agree!
Yes I’m thinking she’s right about it being a later production of an early model, including the carton with that style starburst. I have an original baumritter chair that lasted from the early 50’s to late 60’s and mine has the flathead screws that identify with early 50’s but nothing else was ever changed.
Its a 1961 model. I am assuming owners manual is from a later one.
Love your "quality control inspectors " 😉
THAT'S my "Little Green Pig" vacuum! Bought it used and refurbished decades ago and it still works like a charm. You have a little jewel, Laci. ENJOY! 💖👏😊
That’s so funny I didn’t realize it had a nickname!
Hahaha! That's what we called ours! Many years of vacuuming the stairs with that. Great vacuum!
@@minnienoodle8552Just love ours!
Such a lovely vacuum. Nothing is lovelier than the 60's model. Better quality than those manufactured today.
I am a 79 yr old housewife. Bought that vacuum in 1963. It was called "the little green pig". Same color same attachments. Still have it.
That's a nice machine! I have a Kirby from 1959 that I still use almost daily. I have had it since I was 12 and I am 38 now, lol.
We bought this vacuum new in the 1970s. We always called it the green pig. I love the custom box that is 100% not offered with the vacuum. Somebody really loved the vacuum a lot. Unless it was a salesman’s box
I didn’t know that was a common nickname for it! I think you may be right about the salesman box.
Seriously tho. That Vacuum looks so amazing and elite. I’m loving the font used in the sides of it, too!
Tristar still makes that design. You may be able to purchase additional and brand new accessories including a floor polisher and power head. The ‘green pig’ would then become a beast! On a side note…you have a stunning set of teeth!
Oh that’s a good idea! Haha that nickname!
Ahh thank you 😊
We had the exact same vacuum cleaner when I was a kid. My Dad named it the green pig. LOL Funny thing is we lived in Anaheim CA when I was growing up. That vacuum worked great. It seems like we got ours before 1968. I thought it was some time around the early to mid 60s.
That’s awesome!! Haha idk about that nickname 🤣
Beautiful cats ❤ New sub. These older machines that have cloth hoses, the hoses have a tendency to leak, because the rubber inside deteriorates with time. The only cure is to replace the hose with a new vinyl hose, and keep the old one for display
Oh my goodness!! I love it! I have never seen one of those but I would snatch one up in a second!
I've had a late 30's or early 40's electrolux it was the bomb and it had a cloth bag. Also had a few mid to late 60's elctrolux's. I love that you you can reverse the flow. Only real complaint is they tend to hit the corners on your walls if your not vigilante with them.
Hi Laci.
What a fabulous vacuum cleaner in the most adorable colour!!
I hope you get the head piece fixed!
Looking super cute as ever! Xx
I have a 50’s model. I love it. Way better suction than modern vacuums. Built better back then.
Great video.
Omg! If a vacuum could be the cutest ever this one is the cutest vacuum ever!!! 😅
I don’t know if I could store it away! Don’t you dare put baby in a corner 😂😂❤❤
So glad you are back your aesthetic is wholesome in a crazy world! This old Mississippi girl sure does ‘ppreciate ya! 😂❤
😁
So happy you're back, Laci!! 💝
Thanks me too!
So good to have you back 😊
Thank you! Happy to be here!
My parents had one when I was little that was from my grandparents house. I used it and did have quite a bit of suction
In the late 50s and early 60s canister vacuum cleaners where not very efficient. But the fact that you have the economy set with all the attachments is so cool and in the original box. It's a keeper. I have a central vacuum system in my house and a Bissell upright. My wife and i find that the the central is great for the wood floors but garbage on the carpeted areas, the upright is great on the carpeted floors and firniture such as the couches and beds but is crap on the wood floors. Vacuum cleaners have there special areas of cleaning things. In my garage i have my industrial vacuum for wood shavings, metal shavings and water suction. I like your video and really enjoyed seeing that new/old vacuum cleaner. 👍🍻
I love that see-through apron. It's soooooo cute! The vacuum is darling.
You find the coolest stuff! The beauty of everyday items back in those days was so amazing. I love your content and it brightens my day to watch you. ❤
Super cute! We have a Vintage Filter Queen that we use for all hard surfaces and Hardwood floors. We use a newer vacuum with a beater bar for all of our rugs. They make an attachment you can buy that has a small beater bar in it that works wonders for Animal hair on furniture! I was able to retrofit it for my filter queen. Ask your vacuum shop if they have something like that they could sell you.
That has to be the cutest vacuum I've ever seen 😍
Great little vacuum. I love all the vintage stuff as well. One thing for certain these vintage vacuums are much better quality and if cared for can go for a long time. Maybe you could pick yourself up a vintage Hoover upright from a thrift store and use that on your carpets. I know it would mean having two vacuums in the house. Just a thought. I love that you have your home done up with that vintage look. If you lived in my neighborhood I would give you a wringer washer for your Monday wash days. Keep up your great videos.
f
Super cute! I'm thinking if you put some small casters on the bottom of the storage box it would be easy to move it whenever you need to.
Lacey I love your adorable outfit and shoes. Sooooo cute and your hair color is beautiful. I always look forward to your videos 🥰🥰🥰 hahahahha I love how you talk to the cats and it looks like they know what you are saying hahhahahaah
Amazing video! As always ❤
And wow, it was so amazing! I love the starburst so much and of course Mr Johnny Cash.
And by the way, I absolutely adored your hair!!!! ❤
Oh we love JC soo much!! ❤❤❤❤ 🐈⬛
Never miss one of your uploads Laci!! Love seeing you and Mr. Cash 🫶 Could you possibly do a tutorial for your hairstyle in this video please? 🙏 it is absolutely stunning. Love from California 😘❤️🫶
Thanks so much for being here! Oh yeah I’m sure I could. It’s so quick and easy!
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor So happy to be here! Oh that would be a dream. It is just the cutest hairstyle and I would love to try it :)
We had a turquoise canister vacuum when i was a kid. I loved it. My dad bought an upright Kenmore in the early 70s and it wasn't in any way as good as the canister.
Oh wow my mom had one just like it in the 60s! I used to ride on the canister while she vacuumed when I was little. Thanks for a wonderful memory 😊
We had one of these, no box or extra parts though. Worked very well! Great suction. ❤
I never thought a vacuum would have its own fashion statement! Loved everything about your vacuum and so happy it pleases you so!
Haha yes!! Thank you!
hello Laci love your videos, wow what a nice looking vacuum, I wish I could find something that pretty. My mom would love it too! Looking forward to your next video. Be safe
I was born in 65 and I remember my parents having that vacuum cleaner, same color too. Though ours did not have the large cleaning heads with colored covers. Also think they did not use the paper filter. Could have been designed in the 50s.and still been selling in the 60s.
I collect vintage vacuums, most of them being Electrolux and Kirby, most likely the rubber liner of the woven hose is breaking down and causing leaks. If you block the end of the hose and the motor doesn't strain or change tones then it most likely needs a new hose. If you want to keep it "period correct" you can get a new hose which most likley won't match for when you want to vacuum and keep the current hose for show. I do that with my Electroluxes. Great find.
I really enjoy these videos! Also I love your look in this video! Your hair look so soft and relaxed! I always look forward to see what the next episode will cover!
I found a 1953 model of the same vacuum. It looks the same. You are correct it came from an earlier model. I also found one from 1964. So your vintage vacuum is just a newer sister to a long family line. Enjoyed your video immensely. I grew up in the 1950's and 60's. Always fun to call up fond memories. Thanks for your continued dedication to the vintage community. You are loved. 💙
I would love to have a vintage vacuum, I would probably vacuum twice a day if I did! I love this one, the color is perfect and the design too. And oh my gosh the kitties are so adorable!😍💕
Haha yes!! It definitely makes it more fun to use. Haha thanks friend!!
Hi ! Your vac is adorable ! I have a vintage one as well, mine is the aqua blue electrolux. I love it ! I love vintage vac .. I have used a modern dyson at a friend's house and it worked nice, but typically I've found that vintage just works better .. they don't make em like they used to !
when I worked at the vacuum store and those woven cloth hoses on Electrolux and these old models like TriStar, they always leak when they're older, you can tell you have a really bad leak if you put your hand over the end of the hose and the motor doesn't go any faster than you have a major leak, It's an easy fix you just have to buy another hose
Hi lacy the hose to your vacuum is a cloth hose which becomes porous a replacement hose is easy to replace on that vacuum that unit has a ton of suction but old hose is leaking air the new hose would give you the full suction n the rug nozzle will work better too the new hose will be more flexible hope this helps you enjoy! 😊
Hi Lacy!!!! The cutest vacuum this side of the 1960s😀
Love the cats. I have the same vacuum cleaner, its old but works great. I added a power electric head to mine. If you look at were the hose is there should be a place to plug a power electric head to it.
Oh interesting! I’ll have to check!
"Johnny Cash"
That's a cute name for your cat
And that's sweet of your cousin to give you that
I love your sense of style, it's inspired me to be myself
He is the cat in black 😁
I’m so glad! That’s the best person you can ever be- yourself!
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor good one
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor of course ❤️❤️
Johnny Cash testing the box. Such a cat thing to do 😂
My Mom had an Electrolux canister vacuum in beige! I love your turquoise model! She bought hers in the 60’s! I hope you can have the vacuum repaired! Mom’s worked like a charm.
Donald purchased those vacuum bags exactly two days before I was born!
Cats that don’t run from the vacuum? So brave!!!
He is a brave boi for sure. Haha. Or maybe just lazy……
I love it, how cute!
OHMYSTARS!! I grew up with that vac!! My Gramma had that vac and used it every Saturday! 💖❤️
We had a 1970's vacuum, it was the Avacodo green it was an upright one mom had it until Sears stopped selling the bags right around the early 90's she bought the last three packages which were 9 bags it was a great vacuum😊
Love your hair color. Adorable vacuum !
There is a vacuum museum in Missouri. It was amazing.
Oh that would be interesting!
Oh wow! Cool!
i remember the vacuums my grandparents had they were the canster ones they were always so heavy my mom woule use them when she cleaned their house i will always remember those vacuums
A very 50’s looking vacuum. I love the storage box, it something you could leave out in the room. Love your videos!
I think so too! Thank you!
Straight out of the Jetsons! :)
So nice to see you! Love the turquoise vacuum! Suction is the biggest issue we all have with these machines, I wish you success!❤🇨🇦
Thanks for being here! Ahh so true!
Hi lacy! Have you heard of the Lustron Home? The were pre manufactured homes starting in 1948, maybe 1950. Watch “House Made Like A Car”. I thought of you right away! Love your channel 💖
I used one of these in the early 80's when my husband and I had a cleaning business. One of the BEST vacuums that we ever used!!
Pretty cute vacuum Lacy! I love how Johnny Cash talks to you! So gorgeous 🥰
Haha yes! He’s the best guy.
WOW That would make you want to do spring cleaning, it's storage cabinet is pretty!!!!❤
Right?! I guess it is about that time!
Back in time everything was all about the details!
I am looking into sourcing these wonderful old units and putting modern motors and HEPA filter systems in them so we can have a very cool vintage aesthetic with modern power and convenience.
That would be awesome!
That would be the way to go if it can be done.😊
Hi Laci, love the vacuum cleaner. I would love to find a Hoover Constellation. They were around in the 50s and early 60s. My mother had one in the mustard colour.
Nice Vaccum! Hope you got more plans for future vids! I'm in to see 'em all!
love this, Laci! ❤
I just L-O-V-E Laci Fay !!
If only I were sixty years younger!
Well, at least I got to L-I-V-E The Fifties in real-time
so I can verify that it was exactly as Laci presents
it here.
Nothing beats an old vacuum like that. I love my Hoover convertible 33
Hi, your home looks gorgeous! I love mid century modern houses! Do you have a video of a walk through of your house? Would love to see the outside of the house also.
The vacuum looks cute
Wow! That vacuum is so pretty!
That vacuum is soooo cute! I absolutely love the trunk it came in. Thank you for this video!
I absolutely love that vacuum! It is so asteticaly pleasing! The color is gorgeous!
Great video!💖
That vacuum is so stylish and great-color, shape and the storage box!!! Well worth taking to a vacuum repair shop for an overhaul. It would be a pleasure to clean once it's functioning properly. What a nice cousin you have!
This would make vacuuming FUN instead of a chore!
I love IT and YOU!!! ❤
What an incredible find, I absolutely love it and it's in amazing condition too.
I have been binge watching your content, since I discovered your channel.
Sending you love from New Zealand. 💗
Hello! Welcome!
@@LaciFayTheVintageGirlNextDoor Thank you so much 💗
LOOKING FORWARD TO MOE CLOTHES SHOPPING, THE BOX IS SO MUCH LIKE MY AUNT MARTHA'S
This definitely looks prettier in its carrier case compared to a regular upright vacuum. I’d like to see this sitting out more, for people who don’t have a specific place to store their vacuum out of sight like me.
Oh yes I agree!
That is a gorgeous vacuum cleaner! It looks early sixties for sure! The case is fabulous!
To make sure your vacuum is the best, be sure to do the vacuum test. Take it to a shop they’ll know just what you’ll need to make it go!
What an amazing find Laci, love the way it all fits into that case and it's a lovely colour too 👏
Thanks me too!!
Word of advice, those braided hoses are notorious for breaking down and leaking suction. If you want to use it to its full capacity as your daily driver, I would search for a replacement rubber hose
Very cute vacuum. I have never seen one like it :)))
I love the box. My mom who's turning 79 said her mom always had an upright... a Hoover. My only question is will you be able to find replacement bags for this? Also as a custodian, if you're not getting the suction you may want to check the motor, it may just need to be cleaned out.
I once "inherited" an old vintage vacuum from my parents, and I wondered if it's any good... Well... the first test run, and it (unintentionally) gobbled up a pair of pantyhose off the floor within an blink of an eye and not showing any signs of choking 🤭 So yeah, I was pretty much convinced it still could handle its job 😅😂
We had that vacuum in our attic as a kid in the 70s.🙂 Tuned in from Ontario. 🇨🇦
I've just discovered you and have really enjoyed your past videos. So happy to see new ones!
Welcome! So glad you’re here!
Oh Laci, your killin me! Love it and that box is fabo.
Thanks so much!
