Omg Steph, for future references, when you wanna place dirt in the pot after you organized the succulents how you want them, use a piece of paper and roll it to a cone-shape so it's a more precise placement. No pain! Haha. Thank you for the beautiful content! I appreciate it girl 💖
My two favorite things!!! Steph and plants!!! And yes cactus soil is a must any other soil will kill your plants since cactus soil is specifally mixed to not retain too much water that will cause your cacti to rot! And planting dry is perfect since the roots will break up a bit anyways when you're planting and it's safer to plant them dry sice the broken roots absorb a lot of water. It looks great!!!
I've been having horrible nightmares/insomnia lately but hopefully watching Stephanie and Segundo before bed will give me ~sweet dreams~. I BELIEEVEEE! Give the people what they want, right? Well... it's the end of the semester and I wanna sleep well, leggo~
You are the one who's videos remind me to get more plants up in my apartment! I guess I tune out a lot of other folks planting this time of year, because I don't have a yard. But you get me motivated.
Pick a permanent spot for your fiddle leaf soon if you haven't yet. They sometimes start to die if you move them once they're settled in a specific spot. They're a little finicky.
Oh yes! I love me a chill Stephanie vlog, with an special appearance of Segundo, of course. Pro tip: if you don't have gloves you could also use kitchen tongs to grab each cactus, and when filling the pot with dirt, specially for any specific placement, you could use a spoon. 😉
A few things about cacti that might help you :) Putting rocks at the bottom only helps a little, people debate all the time wether you should do this or not ,but really make sure you don't over water because if there's water sitting at the bottom it would be too humid for the cacti and they will still die .And using special soil was a good choice ,cacti need good drainage. And a life hack that I use all the is to transport them with chopsticks hahahaha , best Asian life hack ever XD Basically when it comes to cacti and succulents under watering is better than over watering . Hope this was somewhat helpful even though I'm by no mean an expert haha :) love ya Steph
this how how I spend most weekends in the summer so seeing this has made me stoked for warm planting weather! I find that using salad tongs to grab the cacti with is fairly simple and saves your hands from getting poked :)
Steph, can you do a plant video where you talk about what plants you have, where you got them, and general care for them? I'm super into plants right now. Haha.
I make a lot of terrariums just a tip use tongs to hold the cactus while you pack in the soil and use a spoon to pour the rocks on top! :) looking good though
I. FREAKING. LOVE. THIS. VLOG!!!!!!!!!!!! Love plants and they look SUPER aesthetic + I learnt how to pot them. Sending love all the way from Singapore!!!
Broken plates & ceramic pots work great for layering at the bottom of pots with no holes! Keep the larger broken pieces and for a pot like yours I'm pretty sure you'd only need 2/3 pieces depending. Pro tip courtesy of my momma :D
I first thought that this would be a boring video but I kinda liked it! Probably because I just got my own very first plant. Keep up the good work! 👍🏻👍🏻
Your vlogs are one of the few that I can actually sit through and enjoy, Steph! By the way, I love how your apartment is turning out. It looks cozy af. I just want to curl up in a blanket and eat soup in it. Edit: Oh yeah, I was wondering if you have any issues with bugs? I want to get plants for my apartment but I'm a wuss when it comes to insects and I'm afraid having greenery will attract a shit ton. I know proper care will avoid it as much as possible but hearing your own experience will be helpful!
eep if that fiddle leaf fig survives more than a year i'll be surprised. it looks so cute in the set up, but cactus soil isn't meant for them. and to water them well it needs to be in a pot that can drain, they can be finicky and will react to being under or overwatered. they like to be watered thoroughly and then dry out, so good drainage is important. i'd recommend doing some research - they are expensive and it'd be a shame for it to die. here's one link (there is a ton of info out there) - www.hgtv.com/design/outdoor-design/landscaping-and-hardscaping/resorting-to-tropicals-for-houseplants
omfg i felt so bad for laughing at the makeup brush shovel but after you mentioned that it might be the designated one from now on i felt better xDDDDDDD

Tongs are great for working with cacti! Also a spoon is super handy for pouring in soil close to the plant.
hey segundo Thanks for giving the people what they want🙌

Steph is literally so cute. That "no!" when she was putting the river rocks in the white pot. :D
Even though this wasn't a regular style vlog, it was really useful to see how you planted those. Gonna have to try it! Thanks!
just make sure to water (the plants and the soil) before you re-pot, plants don't like to be shocked into a new, unfamiliar environment : )
Loved this vlog! Don't know why but gardening videos are so relaxing.
Honestly I love yours and Segundo's friendship

Pumice would make a better soil topper, as it will let the roots breathe. Helping the plant to clean the air better.
