Hi Jewelyn...I enjoyed your video on Fiddle Leaf Figs. I am a new plant mama and I love all of the help and information I can get, especially about the figs because they are finicky. I lost my first one in one week, so now I have a baby one (bambino)...and she seems to be thriving, which I’m so happy she just popped up 2 baby leaves😊 i’m trying to do everything different from what I did with the first one... thank you for the information and I continue to look forward to your new videos...
I purchased one in Bakersfield from my local home Depot for 24.99 and it came in an 11 inch pot . My flf is a work in progress , it came with small spots that turned into holes . I am currently working on combating the spider mites that were on it . Your fiddle leaf fig trees are so beautiful , thanks for sharing .
I just bought my first fiddle leaf fig and it's about 1 foot taller than your tallest one , I played 60 dollars Canadian for it. My local nursery never puts sales on which is a bummer , I'm pretty sure in their 35 years of business they've never put anything on sale so I unfortunately had to pay full price but I was amazed that I was able to find one at all and i thought 60 bucks was reasonable enough . I love it so much , took it home and cleaned it right away. Can't wait to make babies off it soon!
I paid $11 for the first one I bought and then after realizing I bought the dwarf version I bought another one for $15 . Small Fiddle figs are fairly prized here in texas
I was strolling around Home Depot and way in the back, away from the shade cover (but thankfully against a palm that probably helped it some), there was a fiddle getting scorched in the sun. I showed the manager and he gave me 50% off, I paid 10$ for a 5 tree clump. I just snipped off the really bad leaves and just letting it recover in lower light.
I have been wanting to add one of these to my collection. Love the coconut oil and water mixture. I use a little mayo, but I think I may switch up to coconut and water for my leaves.
I love this plant so if you have the opportunity to get one, I say yes. They are expensive. Try the coconut oil method and let me know how you like it :) Aloha!
Hello mine is still small but it is growing i keep it infront of a filter window got it from amazon they had a package deal like 3 plants for like 20 something $30 with sh.yours are beautiful I mine will make it to get that big for reason I'm in too big leaf plants now. have a good one 👌🏾🏵🙌🏾🙋🏽😃 n happy planting.👍🏾
I live in Las Vegas . I bought 2 fiddle figs 5 weeks ago. I’ve been super careful with lighting and watering and they are just staring to grow new leaves. I hope they survive in this harsh environment.
I am pet sitting four 7-year old ficus lyratas and I cannot wait to go home and shine them up/clean their leaves. I think they need it. Thanks for the advice :)
Hey nice video , yes I have one mine is a baby like barley 4leaves on it I have it at my window just moved it their I got it from amazon it wasn't that much because it was group buy. I got around April or May , and it's growing a leaf.
I have a baby fiddle leaf fig that I paid €9, they don't cost as much here in Italy..I keep it near my north facing window (I only have two north facing window, pretty crowded!!) 💙🌿
Great vid and thank you I'm in Pittsburgh and just picked up a Fiddle Leaf. My leaves are falling off but after hearing say don't worry made feel a little better, Thanks. Also what is the song playing the background. Oh coconut oil, I'm on it!!!!!
MsLouisV they will clog the stomata, which is what plants need to photosynthesize. She only does this once a month and uses about a teaspoon so I suppose that’s why she isn’t noticing any problems. Each gardener likes to do their own thing though 🌱☺️
+ilovejewelyn can you ask your friend where she got your bucket you use for your soil? It’s my favorite color too! Also, where did you get your portable potting tray?
memories1002 very hard plant to take care of. There’s a huge fiddle leaf fig tree in the middle of my workplace floor right under a sky light. Very impressive to see a plant that big living indoors.
memories1002 i bought two years ago and they didn’t survive indoors. i bought two about a year and a half ago and I have it outdoors in my patio. They receive filtered light. They look so beautiful. I discovered that my plants do better outdoors. I’m a better gardener if my plants are iutdoors😂 I only have different pothos, ferns and some easy care plants indoors.
Did you say Fiddle leaf figs like shade, I bought my Fiddle Leaf Fig from a nursery and she told me to put it in bright indirect light and I’m losing a leaf it seems every week so is this the wrong place & lighting???
I was afraid to get anothet bc I killed one years ago. I did get one again, and it is still alive. I let it get dry (but dont leave it dry). then water it. It needs plenty of indirect light, but not direct sun. So far that is working.

Mine is 9 ft tall and I paid $9. I am so lucky.
How in the world??
Beautiful. I just found scale on a couple of my plants. I need to inspect them more regularly.
Thankyou so much for sharing your knowledge about fiddle figs.
The coconut oil doesn’t clog the stomata? I would think it would. Just as it’s highly comedogenic to us.
I have been wanting to add one of these to my collection. Love the coconut oil and water mixture. I use a little mayo, but I think I may switch up to coconut and water for my leaves.

Won’t the oil clog the leaf pores?
MsLouisV they will clog the stomata, which is what plants need to photosynthesize. She only does this once a month and uses about a teaspoon so I suppose that’s why she isn’t noticing any problems. Each gardener likes to do their own thing though 🌱☺️
MsLouisV I don’t use a lot of coconut oil just a little and I really dilute it with water
@@ilovejewelyn I think that it might be wrong to wipe the bottom of the leaves, but the top is okay.
Thanks for another relaxing plant video! 😄
matt poulsen glad you enjoy my channel 🌿 aloha
+ilovejewelyn can you ask your friend where she got your bucket you use for your soil? It’s my favorite color too! Also, where did you get your portable potting tray?
Evie Huerta my potting tray is listed in my amazon store
Is it okay to bury that much of the trunk under the soil? It won't cause rot?
Beautiful! I’ve always wanted one but afraid I’m gonna kill it since these are such sensitive plants.

How you grow this beautiful plant from no leaves to plenty of leaves ? Please !
Anjali Joshi I know it’s crazy to think. But it really starts with your zone/weather condition before any thing else.
I have a monstera deliciosa plant that has water roots, when should I put it in soil?
Layne Spicer it’s time to plant! 🌿 water roots are a sign it’s time to plant 🤓
