In this video titled EU4 A to Z - This Nation MADE ME Want TO QUIT EU4 I do a playthrough as Eora in Europa Universalis 4 1.33 France. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Eora , and I attempt to conquer the entire continent of Australia and also claim The Mandate of Heaven and become Emperor of China. So let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. If you enjoyed this video consider leaving a like and subscribing for more content in the future.

Epirus into ottomans
Do what Pyrrhus couldn't, conquer Rome/Italy
Do what Pyrrhus couldn't, but you took the wrong directions, conquering Prome instead of Rome.
I would concur with what others have said: Do what Pyrrhus couldn't and conquer Rome
Conquering both Rome and Constantinople sounds fun!
Imagine being Chinese in this timeline, your nation is being ravaged by dynastic collapse and civil war, and then suddenly thousands of Australian Aboriginals appear out of no where, turn up and start claiming the throne of China, and then win.
you probably don't know but you shouldn't use the word aboriginies. it kinda represents a lot of racism
@@duskpede5146 nah..
@@duskpede5146 sorry, I'll edit it.
No, they don't just "and then win". Instead, you beat them - so they come back, do basically the exact same thing, _and then_ win.
@@duskpede5146 Aborigines is almost the exact same word as aboriginals... i guarentee no aborigines actually give a shit, like how actual chinese dont care if you call them a "chinaman"
The Australian minors all have absolutely bonkers national ideas, but the obvious downside is that in order to play with those ideas, you have to start off as an Australian minor. x_x
Doesn't one of them have a 30% tax modifier as well as 20%ccr
"You see, kids are cruel. AND I LOVE MINORS"
@@andrewgreenwood9068 And -10% dev cost, and -15% construction cost. And that one (Kaurna) isn't even the "best" NI set on the continent! Palawa has the game's best mil ideas, full stop: +20% shock and +10% land fire damage plus +10% morale of armies, to go with -15% AE, -10% tech cost, and +25% manpower recovery, with +1 monarch military skill as the capper. Larrakia has the game's best trade ideas: a free merchant, +10% trade efficiency, +10% global trade power, +10% trade power abroad, and 20% ship trade power, along with +10% shock, -15% CCR, and +2 diplomatic relations just for fun. Eora has great, well-rounded ideas. Kamilaroi has great, well-rounded ideas. It's an embarrassment of riches.
@@TheSaoMagnifico I brought it up because no other nation has a tax modifier over 20%.
f to all of my lads born in Australia, having great ideas but having to be Australian minors
Ah yes, everyone knows about the Chinese Aboriginal Imperial Dynasty of the 16th century. Truely a most unique era of Chinese history.
Decisive -tang- eoran victory
Indeed, it was the Golden Age of China...
Qing moment
Honestly Hawk, these nations make for good videos because no one else makes videos for these nations. That's why your awesome. You do the work no one else is willing to do.
You read my thoughts exactly
I feel for you, just did an Australia custom nations mp game yesterday, and even when I could colonize and talk to people it was boring.
I did Native->Horde->Republic as Palawa. Indigenous+exp+expan are awesome. Then you just develop to get all necessary institutions. Worst part was for doing Australia-Hungary.
Forming Australia Hungary would be 😂
I just completed that same run like a week ago. I was pretty weak I only controlled Australia, Malaysia, and easter third of India because buff Ayutthaya repelled me forever. I got Hungary by declaring imperialism war on the Ottomans after allying their rivals. After a 20 year war with total casualties approaching 10 million between everyone that participated, I got 10 war score letting me get 3 provinces to release Hungary in 1819.
You should send this game to Zlewikk, see if he can recover it in one of his ruined campaign videos
Oh yeah, I remember reading about the Australian Eora dynasty of China.
I can appreciate that they added all these Polynesian tribal nations for representation but god damn are they not fun at all with the mechanics of EU4.
Yup, the game mechanics are designed around/based on a very extremely Eurocentric history, understanding, worldview and ideas. Playing any nation outside of that is gonna be boring and fundamentally lacking.
very accurate to real life tbh
They were better immediately after Leviathan. Unfortunately those mechanics also completely destroyed the game balance.
@@bigfatchubbybritboy9445 Most of mainland Asia is pretty fun, aswell as North Africa.
@@bigfatchubbybritboy9445 I thought forming Malaysia was fun
Epirus is named after Pyrrhus who tried and failed to conquer Italy, so obviously you should form Italy
They are of Tuscan culture so he could form Italy
Pyrrhus was the King of ancient Epirus but it is significantly older than the man.
@@rossmabon4472 I took sleep meds and the laid down and watched this in bed, I don't know why I said "named after" and I think I meant best known for but who knows lol
@@koffyninja7 LOL. We are never at our best knackered.
Lol named after. You made me smile :D
You’re spoiling us Hawk. 1 eu4 video every 24-48 hours, all with a concrete idea and foundation for entertainment - do you ever sleep or do you just play EU4 and edit videos?! Keep up the great work man, cheers!
I sleep well lol, glad you have fun watching
@@TheRedHawk Did you study or work out of youtube?
Eora Here, I’m actually dharug-Eora, Ty for playing, we were already a monarchy (we were actually a tribe of the Dhaurg in 1788) I’m a Like Great great great great great grandson Of Yarramundi the chief Of the richmond tribe (Dhaurg-Eora tribe)through his daughter Maria Locke (first aboriginal woman to Marry a white man legally)
Thats cool, thanks for sharing. I'd be happy to have a native wife, but most likely American, bc thats where I am, haha
Not 100% sure but think the reason some provinces couldn't be taken was that the tribes being attacked were already boxed in and they had no where else to jump to
The reason Palawa couldn't be taken is that the province was already taken as when we see the tribal land, it included the provence that Palawa was in
I tried playing in austrialia once. Luckily it's not my job so I was allowed to quit XD
Lol
I might be wrong but wouldn't letting the month tick after becoming a horde but before becoming a monarchy reveal the entirety of Asia and parts of Eastern Europe?
It also allows you to raze high dev provinces, get the monarch power, and dev institutions real fast. Highly recommend!
I used to believe this, but its actually the tech group that reveals the region so when Ethiopia goes Western tech, they discover Europe, but unfortunately this is not a possibility for Australians.
@@bigbean2587 when you become a horde you get the nomadic tech group
@@nathanrog06 huh, you got a point, but are you sure thats how that works? I mean when the Teutons form holy horde does that also apply.
@@bigbean2587 it's when you take the government reform become a horde (the last tier of reform) you will get the nomadic tech group and the horde government reform (1st reform)
The pure spiciness of your videos, from the cursed goals to the border gore to the ever-relatable "I forgor 💀"
Like Pyrrhys and Alexander of Epirus of old tried to do, head west and conquer Italy/Rome and all the land to the Pillars of Hercules (Gibraltar strait)
As an Australian, I have been dying for you to do one of our Aboriginal nations. Can't wait to see what insanity you're gonna get up to in this one Hawk.
Love from Australia!
I don’t know why but I love seeing you do the native tribal land stuff even though it would be really hard. As epirus, you should defeat Byzantium and conquer Sicily (shoutout to king and general Pyrrhus of Epirus)
Tip for Red Hawk, you can go into the EU4 folders and find the sound file for the monthly gold, then delete it. It gets rid of the sound without any negative effects
I am a weird freak who enjoys playing isolated nations, devving up and spending centuries doing nothing but be peaceful but even I hate that noise so I removed it, I keep the one for when you're losing money though because its actually helpful
did you got bored?
Of course lmao
@@TheRedHawk how did you manage to respond to this comment 3 minutes before the OP 🤣
@@Mr_Mcgee_ magic.
I'm so glad you didn't just give up after losing that first war with ming! in the past you had done that and it kinda sucked, glad you pulled through and did it!
Hawk, I have a thought about how to make future Australian native campaigns less tedious. You could play from a different start date than the 1444 one. As long as you’re still playing a nation that exists in 1444 it would still count for the challenge and this way you don’t have to wait as long for colonizers to show up.
Your edit has been improving a lot
Thanks!
Insane idea for next time you have to play in Australia. Start in a year other than 1444, when the colonizers will actually be closer.
What do you mean, Hawk? What could be more exciting than 150 years of doing nothing at speed 5?
200 years of speed 5?
@@TheRedHawk there is an eu4 challenge to play at 5 speed without pausing...
2:54 I don't know why but that little gag of the dude on the flag doin a little dance just kills me, and I think it's even funnier you did the dude on the tinyass unit flag instead of the one in the corner
You only get to keep the tribal land if the nation has a place to migrate to next; if it stops existing afterward the war (no place), then you only take their capital.
You can tell this way: if you can demand war reps, they will be alive after the war, so you get to keep their tribal lands.
I live in the area where the Eora traditionally live so this was crazy for me to watch
That pain is worth a place at the big boy's table. Get this man 100k subs asap.
As for Epirus, form Italy?
For one of the other Australia nations you should play without DLC for the true Australia experience.
this reminds me of when I tried to play as Wichita the first time I played this game.... "coin noise"
"coin noise"
"coin noise"

Great episode!
Such a great video!!
although i don't think you HAVE TO, i appreciate that you've been including some funny effects to your videos. Keep up the good work, Hawk, you're my favorite euiv youtuber.
I did the Surfin' in the USA achievement this weekend. I feel your pain.
The province called “Tharawal” contains no Tharawal land, that’s all Yuin land. Tharawal land is all inside the supposed “Eora” tribes land. Wiradhuri tribe is also too small.
Palawa couldn't be taken because it couldn't go anywhere that wasn't your tribal land. (Can't migrate to tribal land of a nation you have a truce with)
As Epirus try to form Greece or do it like Alexander conquer all of Persia and form it xD. Nice video btw i love your videos. Everytime i see a new RedHawk video on my Page i even turn off my AdBlock. Have a nice upcoming week.
send the campaign to zlewikk and see if he can save this one. I really wanna see that
💯
yea he can, he did saves worse than this
This is actually very (alt)historical. There's this (in)famous alt-history novel in China called 临高启明, where a hundred 21st century people went back to Ming and conquered it. In the beginning, they pretended to be merchants from Australia (澳洲). They say they were the descendants of the Song Government-in-Exile in Australia, i.e. 澳宋. So, Australia conquered Ming LOL.
Have to admit I ripped a fat cloud and one moment he was an OPM in Australia, and the next moment he owned Beijing
A comment to bump the algorithm for ya. I like these. You have a great sense of humor..
I would love to see some of these saves played longer. Like the Hawk Nation.
It would be cool if Zlwik or another eu4 creator took some saves and played them.
You're doing some funky things with that flag
As Epirus you should form Italy (iirc they started Neapolitan culture or something, and also a nice reference to the Pyrrhic Wars against Rome), and ideally attack nations that are bigger than you as much as possible, once again a pyrrhus reference
thank you for this video. i been trynna play the navajo tribe in na. but couldnt understand if it was supposed to be so boring to play as a migratory tribe. they should add something to spice up the experience playing from reform 1
Also, you should send this save to a certain UA-camr save my broken campaign. I feel it would be a nasty one for him.
Congratz on being the first person to play more than 10 years of Eora
Thanks for the 24 minute campaign Hawk!
This is my favourite nation, hope you had fun 😊
Yes… lots of fun
@@TheRedHawk yeah but you should have taken diplo ideas to become hre emperor
15:15 I don't know if this is a bug or whatever, but the reason you don't get their tribal land is because, since there was nowhere to go you demanded "Full annexation" instead of individual provinces, which does not give tribal land
Hey Red Hawk awesome video as always, but the next time you play in Australia, try to get indigenous ideas as first set, since they're very strong
That flag edit is amazing
Wow what a coincidence! I was just playing Eora but I got bored
Maybe after you finish the unique national ideas you will do the group national ideas? If there are two or more nations using the same ideas, pick only one of them.
the reason you couldn't take certain provinces is because there was no unowned province the enemy could migrate to, you cant cause another native to cease existence like that.
Definitely think for the nations you have to wait on, you should console out fog of war so so you can sit with popcorn and watch the rest of the world implode without a player to dogpile on.
next challenge, play in Australia on speed 1
If it means anything, I felt as much pain watching this as I'm sure you did playing it.
Okay, well, I laughed at your pain- but still, the thought counts!
Nice the first month tick soundtrack
As for you not getting all the land when you annex a tribal nation. This happens when you don't leave them a province to migrate to. So when you tried to annex Larrakia (15:10) for example, you only got the province they were currently migrated to, because they wouldn't have had anwhere else to migrate to had you gotten everything you demanded. If you had left them with one province of tribal land in the peace deal, which is what I usually do, you would have had to crush them again later, but you wouldn't have had to colonize anything, keeping the colonists free for other stuff.
For Epirus you should complete Pyrrhus's war and conquer Rome.
Damn, I always use settle down and then get stuck not knowing what to do with Australia. This is a gamechanger for me.
Quarbit just dropped Hawaii ep, Red Hawk with Australia waiting for Laith New Zealand episode and we can archive eternal sleep playlist.
Laith Tonga episode dropped, your wishes have been answered
For Epirus, do what Pyrrhus couldn't and conquer Rome.
And i thought my Hawai'i game to be boring at the beginning. But at least i have boats and can dev up and explore.
But although it may have been boring to play for you, it was enjoyable to watch.
You can actually form a federation and within 25 years own almost all of the Australian continent, you just need to add members in the right order, and also have a 10% manpower increase advisor. I have tried three times with the same success!
Is this still possible in 1.35? I tried it and I had to go trought one more tier of reform before becoming a monarchy, and I also couldnt spawn Feudalism after. I dont know if I goofed up or if they changed it...
Australia the fun never ends! It just never ends since it takes to much time for the fun to begin.
My face when red doesn't take indigenous which pairs well with horde
"which cult shall I take"
let I absolutely NOT take Movement Speed.
When playing in Australia.
give this guy a sub for such masochism for our pleasure.
Skipping in Austria sounds fine to me, the 2nd part of the vid was way more interesting to watch.
He has done it, he has played an Australian nation!
Maybe you could not take the land of the tribes because they had nowhere else to migrate to?
Okay you finally broke me, here take my sub.
I've been following you for about four months now. I'm going to level with you. I've played Civilization games for years and regularly play RTS games when I'm not playing 4X. As a result, I'm intimidated by Paradox games to the point where your videos are about the only ones I watch on the subject. But I gotta say, I started this one, was paused by my roommate to get to go out drinking, had a hard night of drinking, and was able to come back and not miss a beat, means only one thing. Australian nations are boring. Don't shoot for objectives. Just have fun with these.
i'll mention there is a glitch enabling you to explore outside of australia as a tribe.
Historically King Pyrrhus of Epirus tried to conquer Rome, so a potential goal is to form Italy (or even the Roman Empire) as Epirus.
Nice, send the game to Zlewikk as a disaster game, it would be super cool!
How did you spread over the wasteland of Australia? Wouldn’t it be a circle around the wasteland that isn’t coloured with the tribes colour and name?
You could also play them from a later start date, when the European nations are closer.
5:47 hm yes, the most famous chief of the Eora tribe
Warrain#0
How about you start in a later start date for the next australia nations? You get free government reform points when you start in later dates, no? Could be the one time when starting in a later date is actually fun
I believe the reason you couldn't take Palawa is because you already own it. It shows up in light green like the others when you look at your future lands.
"il try not to make it boring for you guys" proceeds to play every single nation the same way
I'm sure you'll have fun playing the other 11 Australian nations!
Colonial form nation is unlock, if you is a Chinese Horde, is that only way to form.
Sing it in the Wellerman tune
There once was the chief of Australia
Who wanted to conquer China
So he sailed and got stackwiped one time
But he never backed down.
Soon may the boredom go
And help us defeat the foe
Mandate - we want it though
So we'll try once more
Congratulations on surviving the boredom. Maybe consider giving Zlewwik the save file to see if he can survive.
Oh cool, you can play the Kulin nation in EU4? Didn't know that.
Still not gunna play EU4 tho lmao
you should send this save to Zlewikk and see if he can save it 👏🏻
Why didn’t you claim more tribal lands while you were waiting to reform? Was there a limit or something?
The reason you sometimes get tribal land and sometimes do not is because when you defeat a tribe, in order to take tribal land, the tribe you take from must have at least one province next to the claims to respawn into after the war. If you take all the possible provinces for them to move to then the tribe is considered destroyed and you only get their main province(wherever their city is when you defeat them). So, if you want to fully annex tribal lands, ensure the tribe has at least one province adjacent to their tribal holdings to respawn into. This is very important knowledge in the Americas once tribal federations start to get big. I hope this helps for the rest of A-Z!
Definitely one of the nations to ever exist
This is why I play while listening to UA-cam
You forgot to unite the rest of Australia. You know, the Australian lands in Europe.
maybe when doing the other australian nations you could do some minor god mode to shift the world many years into the future right before colonisers coem
As someone with cousins from Wurunjderi, my heart was filled with catastrophic GLEE when you so casually said you were gonna invade them. Fuck I love this game.
EDIT: 4:30: "Playing in Australia be like..." Yep. That's why I moved to The Americas 😅
An idea for the next Aussie tribe could be to conquer all the lands where an Austronesian language is spoken. It’d be hard, but maybe fun?
