Chris, your soundtracks really class up the joint. They add that special polish that makes Matteo's vids extra snazzy. The only thing that bothers me is when Matteo makes 2 servings of pasta when there are clearly 3 of you. I like that Matteo lets you eat in this one.
I think Matteo, like a good Italian, asks Chris if he's eating with him before they start filming. He'll even sometimes say "Are you having some?" when he starts getting the pasta out.
This is an amazing concept and so well done! Comedy, travel, and food! It would be amazing to see more of these! Love seeing people talk about someplace other than NYC or LA!
For all the Italians watching, I never said that this was pizza true (real/authentic). Come on it is pizza Chicago. It goes well. (It is fine/All right) @@ratleader90
OMG!! Finally a Matteo video in Chicago! I'm in NYC but I wish I could move to Chicago. But sometimes they say don't marry the mistress. I like Lou's but I do like Giordano's more. When it comes to pizza, I am not a fan of the ketchup on cardboard we get served in the city. I would love a nice long video of Matteo, his husband and Nick in Chicago. That would be totally fun!.
@@merlinsclaw Absolutely. The “grain” Matteo mentioned not liking is “polenta” (ground corn meal.) Italian shops put it between freshly-made ravioli to prevent it from sticking together. A new pizzeria near me tried putting it under their crust… it’s almost like eating sand & they closed shop in under 2 months. 😂
LOVE how geeked Matteo was that he made his own Lou Malnatis and how ready Sam was with the jokes! I have a Barnaby's near me too, nice to know it has the Lane seal of approval!
OMG! I didn't grow up in Chicago but I grew wise in Chicago. Got transfered for a job and stayed 22 years. Loved every minute. Returned to Detroit for family issues but my heart is still in Chicago. This was great. Thanks Mateo!
Ohhh! How fun to make your own pizza! They looked delicious! I would like to try one as well the next time I’m in Chicago - thanks for the recommendation!
"É la pizza di Chicago, vabbè?" was kinda hilarious at the end! Anyway for what it's worth, as an italian, I don't think Chicago pizza it's that much of a sin. I mean, in Italy we do have really similar things with a pizza pie-ish vibe (don't know if you ever heard of "rustici" in general), so what's the big deal! Nice experience making it on your own :)
I was in Chicago back in the summer of ‘99. Got to go to Lou’s and it STILL makes my stomach happy to recall! Just the words ‘butter crust’ makes me smile! Hmm…must plan a trip to Chicago…it’s been TOO LONG!
Hey, I was at the Chicago Theater both nights and you both and all your friends killed it up there!! It was such a treat to see two of my favorite comics live. Glad you got to enjoy the city a bit, too. All the best
Finally a fellow Chicago said it. We love our deep dish pizza we just don't eat it all the time. Also, yes there are people who need magnums at the same time though, they're not that good as condoms they break pretty easy 😅. Also as a Chicagoan living in Indiana... I also believe they don't deserve Chicago pizza.
I love that these guys are friends and I love that they’re doing a lot of collaboration lately. There is a funny SNL skit about a gay man with a straight friend… they remind me of that skit
I grew up in Jersey so I am also picky about NY pizza. I recently had a couple days off so I took a trip to Chicago just to try some of what they had to offer. Compared to Lou's, Geno's, and Giordano's, Pequod was absolutely the best in my opinion. The long walk to get there from the train station was pleasant too.
My late husband and I LOVED Nancy's Pizza. Yummmmm. He was a South Sider and initiated me early to all of the food. I miss it and now you've made me have to ship a pizza to the south. LOL Happy eating!
Matteo, my home town is Chicago, too. I try recreating it here in NYC when I get homesick, in a cast iron skillet. But, the crust is so tricky! I think they use lard (???) and then add some butter if people order it. Lou's is the best. Uno's and Due's def. are good seconds. Loved your Carnegie Hall show on Saturday!!!! The opera singing finale was amazing!!!!!!! Che maraviglia, caro!!!
You may be thinking of “Paul Rosolie” another NYC Italian with similar looks/demeanor. Rosolie (also on YT) is attempting to save the Amazon rainforest. A noble agenda by great guy, Paul was born literally around the block from me.
I had amazing tix to your show in Denver and couldn't get up there because of weather, but the couple who used my tickets thoroughly enjoyed themselves, "rolling in the aisles" :D
I actually have eaten there while visiting friends in West Haven. It was quite good but you really need the NYC water for that “secret ingredient”in our pizza.
I want you and Nick to pack a picnic, rent an electric boat and take us around on the Chicago River. They rent those boats by the hour. The skyline is unreal. I would love to see you both! And all the old river bridges! The Wrigley Buildings! I swam in Lake Michigan the one time I was in Chicago. We stayed downtown and walked to the beach. It was surprisingly clean. I LOVE that toddlin’ town. Great episode!
I had pizza in Venice in 1988 on a band trip…🤯🤯🤯 I remember thinking, man Pizza Hut doesn’t taste like this 😂😂😂 For people needing their pizza fix but not in Chicago: Lou Malnati’s mail orders their pizzas (expensive but it is LOU MALNATI’S’) and Gino’s East frozen pizza is sold at Safeway 😮😊 (in Colorado at least). I am high and now hungry 🙄🙋🏻♀️😁

Makes sense when Matteo mentions that Sam grew up in Manhatten taking the subway as a kid. He's New Yorker through and through.
I love Matteo’s disclaimer at the end to the Italian fans….basically, chill, it’s CHICAGO STYLE PIZZA
Essentially a deep-dish pizza “pie.”

This note is for Chris Caso, your video style, technique and photographic quality is a solid 10 ❤
There’s a nice vibe going on between them. A good episode. The lady in the kitchen is terrific. Chris’s production values are excellent.
Lmao!!!! “ this is not my first time I’ve disappointed a woman with my fingers” hahahahahaa i love them
nothing like a pizza kitchen to humble otherwise very confident people. i loved this.
Sam asking the woman " is this good? Is this alright?" is like the sweetest thing ever...
Lesbians built the neighborhood and we painted it. My new favorite quote ever!!!❤
