      Use my sandals instead and save yours. I stepped in a big pile of dog... well. Poop WAS involved but the poor thing lost the fight from both ends (thankfully, the next day he was fine). They are sitting in the shed until I decide if I really want to try to save them or should I just toss them into the burn can. Because I gotta say, it anyone's personality can be described as fecal impaction, sounds like this guy fits the bill.

    • @PonderingStudent
      @PonderingStudent Рік тому +55

      I hate it when families just "brush over" things for "appearances." If the parents had gotten the problematic sister mental health support while she was still a child, when they had the power to make her attend, alot of this might well have been avoided. Now, they're left with an adult who clearly needs therapy, but who refuses to go. You can't force an adult to get help, however much she obviously needs it.

    • @dealwithit9772
      @dealwithit9772 Рік тому +14

      It's hard work. I have seven siblings, and I have made choices to keep the peace, but it was my own decision. We have gotten in physical fights, but nothing big. It's always small enough that the same day or maybe a week at the most then we are over it and back to laughing about how stupid the fight was in the first place. I think while we struggle to communicate we all have the same issue and understand it's hard to tell people what's going on or share our feelings in a more calm way. We literally all almost all the same person personality wise so a lot goes unsaid because we already know. 😂

      There's been a few Reddit stories that seem to have originated from that sentiment, oddly. I remember one where a mother and sister went waaaay overboard, trying to get the OP to couple up with her BIL (the sister's husband's brother, as in this story). The sister was utterly obsessed with the idea of 2 brothers being married to 2 sisters. Iirc that one ended in the OP's parents divorcing and the OP plus the entire rest of her family going NC with the mother and sister.
      Why at least a few people have this obsession I don't know. Though I do have a friend who met her BIL for the first time at her sister's wedding and ended up marrying him. On that occasion, everything worked out very well, but there it happened naturally, nobody tried to force it.

    I'm a little peeved about two things here.
    1. The parents still asked Op to do whatever her sister asked her to do, after her sister ASSAULTED her, and tried to set her up with a CREEP even though, she's in a serious and healthy relationship of FIVE years.
    2. The boyfriend asking OP to still talk to her sister after all the shit she pulled. I understand he doesn't have that close relationship with his siblings. But Op's sister LIED to her about a double date, let her get crept on by her BIL, told her that she would be walking down the aisle with this CREEP, where he would be able to touch her! Then ASSAULTED her! I would NEVER tell my partner to keep talking to their sibling or family member after they did all of this shit.

You, and in fact, everyone including the groom are just props in the play. Not trying to cover for his creepy ass, but it sounds like it was more the sister and fiance. She said he found OP attractive and then the sister kept filling his head with stories about how much sister liked him and was getting rid of her boyfriend anyways.
      I could easily see him with severe social anxiety and believing his brother and FSIL and not realizing all the crap happening. There's not enough info to determine if he's actually a creep who is just as bad as the rest, or he could have been a victim as well. Being told "She really likes you, but she's having issues getting her boyfriend to leave." He may have believed crap like that.
      Or, he was hoping his bro could get him a quick score with OP. We'll likely never know.

    It's hard to determine without knowing what kind of person the BIL is (other than being a creep and lacking any common decency) but I get the impression that the sister is the type of person who will do EVERYTHING to be in a relationship due to whatever self-esteem issue she has. She's also the type that may not believe her child/ren if something were to occur. I had a situation that happened to me that is a bit similar where a family "friend" was all over me despite my objections. An aunt basically pushed me onto him and would call me slurs at each rejection. Safe to say is that we don't talk.

Especially if they believe they are entitled to it coming at the cost of compromising your boundaries and welfare, mental well being included, to cater to their delusions. If that is the price required to pay in order "to keep the peace" and "to make them happy" is it obscenely expensive. Doesn't matter who's making those kinds of demands, it is always too damn high and it is not to be paid or else the regret you feel later will be the debt you've collected afterwards due to how much of a toll it's taken on you. That's why he was always staring at OP, and the Groom was just as in the dark as OP's family: because she had lied to him as well. Considering how she reacted every time a relationship fell apart, and the fact she found out she was pregnant, I'm wondering of the baby's father is in question between the two brothers and that's what the issue is. She doesn't want to lose the baby because it's a link to keep this man, but she's also terrified the brother could use it to destroy everything and so has to lie to everyone to try and make things work.
