The noise reduction works very well for Sony, Canon and Fuji indeed!
However, if you look very closely under the new noise reduction, easy to miss, you'll find a little phrase, which says "we still don't condone shooting with Nikon".

Agreed, while I love AI for denoise applications, generative fill has the potential to ruin the aspects of photography that lead us to falling in love with it.

I think AI denoise works great on subjects that doesnt have very small significant details similar to architecture or automotive. But when it comes to landscape or portrait I think there could be some possible issues or difficulties
No it also works schockingly good on like little birds and stuff with super small details.

I have used the noise reduction for photos from live events where the light was low and the images came out noisy, as long as you don't use TOO much reduction it looks good. If you get crazy with it they will look funny, like too smooth

One thing to mention, for the most recent Photoshop Beta version, there were communication issues with Lightroom. On Lightroom I would click edit in Photoshop, and it never loaded, then created a secondary raw version. I used the prior version of Photoshop Beta and it worked just fine. Not sure if it has happened to others, but figured I'd share.

Same here, I had to uninstall photoshop beta because it did the same with regular photoshop as well for some reason. Is the problem still there?

I didn’t know about those noise reduction filter layers, will have to check them out. In agreement with you about the AI. Removes the satisfaction of the journey, going and taking the shot. But however, I have portrait photography friends that like it for the ability to plan photo shoots at places without going to these destinations and scouting. So I can see how it’s helpful, but I wouldn’t personally feel right using it if I was selling a product with AI touched up images
The new de noise is an absolute cheat code, been loving it

I'm mostly using DXO's pure raw3. Most times it does a wonderful job with the noise.
Only downside if the AI Denoise is even Lager files. Like 200-300mb a photo. The beta stuff comes in very handy for removing stuff.
I do equine photography and when doing horse portraits the horse doesn’t always help. Being able to use the PS beta a.i to fill in to get the composition right has made my life a lot easier
I shoot equestrian sports and placed a show jumper going over a fence with St Pauls Cathedral.
AI, It took a couple of goes but got there in the end.

I recently took some photos of an M3 and absolutely obliterated the iso on my R4.. 16.000 or something while no more than 100 was needed .. and the photos turned out pretty good after LR Ai noise reduction

Well I shoot with a Nikon D700 😅 and have been using AI Denoise, I shoot predominantly Ice Hockey and my last shoot I did was at iso 3200 so AI Denoise saves me and I only set it to 20-30%,
so we have a live like counter now

bro I'm not actually sure if the "Sony is good at night" thing is a joke or not at this point.
Sony makes sensors going in Nikon cameras. Canon has caught up to Sony years ago. I mean fuck, Sony has always made Nikon sensors pretty much, the only bragging rights that Sony had was autofocus and even that other brands have caught up now.
It's been years since there was actually a meaningful difference in noise levels and dynamic range once you get to a certain pricepoint, and that works with pretty much every brand (even fuckin Pentax).
So maybe I'm the party crusher around here but do people really believe that Sony sensors really are superior?
