Furnishing your apartment alittle bit at a time is the main advice I would give someone moving to a new city. The only three rooms that need to be ready are the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen cause those rooms what's needed to live basically, Everything else such as decorative items and living room furniture can wait. Another bit if advice is to take it slow. It's ok to spend time alone rather than go out. Being in a new city is exhilarating but at the same time traumatizing because you are in an unfamiliar environment that your mind has to process. In order for that to happen you have to approach life in a relaxed but active way. Of course you need to explore and learn the city but don't feel like you have to attend every event going on. You will completely fatigue yourself and that will lead to felling unhappy and overwhelmed in the city you moved to.
Loving the cardigan and hair combo in this video! Heads up, you have a screenshot of the IG question box *directly* over your face from 10:16 thru 11:44 I missed your face for that approx. 90 seconds 👀
I need to get on bumble bff! Being a stay at home mom to older kids and an older online college student, I'm missing adult interaction 🙃 loved this caira!
Can you talk about how to look for places and what kinds of things to look for in apartments? (for those of us that live in smaller cities without people like you to help us!)
Thank you 💕 useful information, as always! I don't know if it's intentional, but the question about affordable furniture stays enlarged in the center for several minutes 🤔 Best regards 😊❤️
Thank you so much for the tips/advice. I am starting to live alone now after moving out of my parents house. It’s hard, I do feel lonely. I do know it will get better - but it’s nice to know others feel the same way. Thank you. Hope you’re keeping well
You mentioned you doing a million and 1 side hustles haha can you possibly tell us them? I plan to move out soon and I’m definitely taking notes from you and getting these possible side hustles noted would be amazing
I’ve seen videos of people living in apartment buildings of people living in places like LA. They seem to have areas to pick up coffee. Snacks too (?). Maybe a place you can meet others in your building. Almost sounds like coffee and drinks are “free.” Do they have such areas in buildings you’ve seen in Chicago.
@@CairaButton Very cool. They didn’t have those when I was apartment living. Are the coffee and snacks “free?” Love your content. Thanks for your reply.
thanks so much for this video :) seriously. as someone who's going to college soon, i've been trying to prepare by watching videos on moving out so i kinda know what to expect. question though, i really hope to move into my own apartment asap (which i know most people do post college), is there any advice you have in that area? even if it'd mean having roommates i'd just be happy living in my own space. thanks again :))
Moving to Portland, OR with my bf in a few months so these were great tips! We might need to try out Bumble BFF once we're up there. Would love some tips on negotiating with apartment complexes or talking pricing. Is that totally out of the question for leasing offices, or are they flexible with pricing?
So I got kybella not botox (I get a teeny tiny bit of botox between my brows but that’s it) but yeah I feel like it’s working! It needs another two weeks to go down and then I need to get a second round. Most people do 2-3 rounds

Definitely needed the Sally scenario. Having lived in Boston for over ten years I’m all too familiar with spending more than half of my pay on rent.
I pressed LIKE first then started watching 😍 my husband hears about the BFF app and says "There's hope for you, honey....🤣🤣🤣
Hahahah but it really does work!

In smaller cities I would think Zillow or apartments.com would be a good place to start!! Depending how small maybe newspaper or Craigslist
I'm looking to move to Chicago next year so I am SO GLAD I stumbled onto your channel!
Thank you! Hope it helped!
Super helpful advice! Apartment hunting has been soooo frustrating though
sooooooo helpful!!!!
Yay!

Completely did not mean to do that 😅

This was so helpful, I genuinely love your real estate videos even though I'm not in the market to move at all right now!
Thank you! That’s why I got into it because I just think it’s so fun!!
I'm trying to get out of my house the quickest I can... Thx.
your hair looks so pretty!
Awesome video! Super informational
I’m glad you liked it!
How do we buy used furniture if we don’t have a car?? Lol :)
I usually rent a get around car for the day!

Yes! A lot of those areas are still closed due to covid but normally yea!

Great advice!
Can you tell us about the Chicago Pedway?
I don’t use it too often because I don’t go to the loop much but it’s great in winter!
Yo WTF!... you're the best god damn it!👏👏👏
Thank you!!

If it’s a private landlord situation you can always try, but in the more professionally managed buildings they are locked in.
I feel like your face is more chiseled. Do you think the botox worked? Please update us!

I like watch your videos, especially about your shopping trip. I have question, where can I find the sandwich maker, the one your boyfriend uses?
Are you solely an agent in Chicago or do you also do areas nearby like Cicero and Oak Park ?
Where do you get your hair done?!
Hair by Elizabeth S in Lincoln park!!
@@CairaButton it looks so good! Def going to check her out!
If you mention my name you get money off!
