I love your videos, Thankyou for taking us with you to Hawaii. It is snowing in Utah. Dream of the sun again. I have a beach fantasy where I fly to Hawaii with just a backpack and somehow find a bus that will take me to the north shore, I have a cousin there. Do you think that is possible? How long would it take? That would be a fun video to make! A surfers dream.
Yes you can play around with google maps on your computer or your phone and put in Daniel K. Inouye International Airport to Haleiwa which shows 1hr 20mins on bus. Not sure where on the North Shore your friend is. The bus cost $3 one way and make sure you have exact fare because they do not give change. Or invest in a Holo card when you get here which you can get at ABC Stores, some supermarkets, and I think 7-Eleven. It is a card you can make an account online and load some money via your checking account or credit card. Then everytime you catch the bus you can swipe it to deduct your $3 fare. Welcome to the channel! Stop by anytime you want more Hawaii!
Hello! I always enjoy watching this channel. Well, I live in Japan and will be traveling to Honolulu in early February. I am planning to eat poke at "Poke Fix", which you introduced before in video. Are there any other restaurants that the locals in Oahu recommend? I would be happy to hear from you.
Hi aloha thank you for watching us! Yes Poke Fix Hawaii is really good poke with sides and sushi rice. If you are staying in Waikiki there is also, EbiNomi across the street from the International Market Place on Kuhio Ave, I really like the garlic shrimp there, they call it EbiKahuku hereʻs the video ua-cam.com/video/cxWxQNJ4CF4/v-deo.htmlsi=GRR91IEO8dWnBzF0 If you are driving and going out to Wahiawa, there is a saimin place like ramen called Shige’s Saimin Stand - facebook.com/ShigesSaimin . Zippyʻs which is everywhere has good chili with rice but not all Japan travelers like chili but if you get it with a side order of macaroni salad. If you get the chili dog plate it will have everything plus a hot dog. You have to try Hawaiian food maybe from Da Ono Hawaiian Food on Kapahulu Ave daonohawaiianfood.square.site/product/kalua-pig-plate/1 at least try the Kalua Pig Plate and I suggest getting it with poi and rice so you can eat it with poi and rice. Poi is best to eat as a starch with kalua pig and lomi salmon but not everyone likes poi. Try a spam musubi, shave ice, oh and malasada from Leonard bakery on Kapahulu Ave or Pennyʻs at Royal Hawaiian Center. I think you should look at some of my UA-cam friends who do food like Amanda & Felix Eats ua-cam.com/users/AmandaFelixEats , Authentically Charles ua-cam.com/users/AuthenticallyCharles , Food Fiend ua-cam.com/users/FoodFiend , HawaiianTraveler | Sean Kaleponi - ua-cam.com/users/SeanKaleponi for more recommendations. There are so many types of food in Hawaii and you should try as many as you can. If you want more info on things you can do please email me and I will try my best to answer your questions photolukehawaii@gmail.com. Aloha
@@PhotoLukeHawaii Thank you for your kind and detailed response. I have been watching your videos for the past two years to plan my Hawaii trip. Your information is very informative and appreciated, and the EbiKahuku at EbiNomi certainly looks delicious. I will definitely try it since I will be staying in Waikiki. And, I will also try the other Hawaiian foods you mentioned. I don't speak English well, but I will watch your UA-cam friend's video and make a list of restaurants that look delicious. Mahalo nui loa! 🏝
