  • You guys requested a video on how to reduce bumpy, textured looking foundation, so here it is! I personally suffer from both acne and rosacea which means that I have super bumpy skin texture and large pores. In this video I’m going to show you my tips on how to reduce the look of skin texture and acne, in order to achieve smooth, flawless foundation, and minimise the size of your pores.

I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart for showing your skin unfiltered and real! THANK YOU SO MUCH! You have no idea how much that means to me. My skin is extremely similar to yours, and I've gotten such bad self esteem from watching other youtubers and instagram, and I've felt so alone thinking my skin is the only one that looks like that. You are amazing! Thank you thank you and much love to you xo

It knocks my self esteem seeing people on UA-cam and Instagram with their seemingly perfect skin too. You're not alone in that! It freaks me out sometimes to bare my face on camera (especially SO up close, and in HD) but its comments like yours that make it all worth it for me! xx

RegNEl2010 we are all human!! but I totally feel you. my skin is not terrible but it's not great either and I find myself thinking the same exact thing!! then if I'm having a good day I'm able to remind myself it's all filters and if you and I had those same filters, our skin would look that perfect as well! let's all build each other up rather than year each other down. that's why I chose to comment on you comment so that you feel built up. I hope you feel that way? that's my intention any way. 😆

Thank you for showing your actual skin, no one really does and it made me think that my skin texture is much worse and my pores are way larger than most people. I like you have large pores around the nose area, on the tip of the nose and surrounding areas. So I'm over here trying to "fix" my skin with all kinds of skincare products, which granted some problems can use a little help, but my pores aren't just going to disappear into thin air!
I love these tips and tricks videos that you do, especially when it comes to covering skin problems and anything that has to do with hooded eyes, I've gotten such great tips from you! Thanks!👌🏼

My skin was like that when I was your age. (Actually, I just realized you're 28, so my skin was like that when I was 24 and under) I'm 32 now.
The terrible texture and huge pores are gone, but have been replaced with permanent acne scars on my cheeks, which I will have until the day I die.
I get hormonal acne during my period, around my chin and under my neck. I will also have that until the day I die, or if I'm lucky, it will eventually go away during menopause.
The only blessing I have from this skin is that I will always look 10 years younger than I actually am.

Emily Walsberg. Try using rose water as a primer, after i wash and moisturize my skin before putting make-up on, i barely soak a cotton pad with rose water and dab it on parts of my face quickly, just lightly sweep it over your skin, anywhere that tends to flake/ look dry, my cheekbones and anywhere i wanna " glow" and highlight . then i let it set and blot off any excess with toilet paper slightly. Then apply foundation as usual and if any, lightly dust translucent powder on any oily parts of your face that get more oily if you sweat. From Colorado so my skin can get super dry if i don't do this. Hope this helps!

Ehhhh... I really think she does have a filter over her camera or used a video editer filter on her computer... you don't go from bumpy flaky skin up close even after all the steps she took to flawless silky smooth skin when she has the eye makeup on. That's what a filter does, and yes UA-camrs will deny deny deny to the death

This video was so real, thanks for showing off your skin, pores and all! I also struggle with a lot of the problems you mentioned, except my face is dry rather than oily. I also had bad rosaceea breakouts. I've tried all the cosmetics and dermatocosmetics, but nothing made it better. Until one day when I just lost my faith in all beauty products. So I eneded up throwing away ALL my creams, tonics, rosaceea lotions, make up remover, etc. The only thing I accepted to put on my face was the only things I Really needed: makeup and just organic argan oil in the night before bed so I can mosturize my dry skin. After a while ( several months) it completly calmed down. At the moment I'm not even wearing any makeup anymore, which made my skin even calmer and less red. The conclusion is: it's all a vicious circle. Every beauty product no matter how expansive and how delicate it was, it had chemicals. And my face was getting red and making small pimples under the skin, because it didn't handle all the chemicals, it reacted like to an allergy. And it didn't had anything to do with what I ate. I realise the redness was because of local factors. I would never dream before to have such a calm and ok skin on my face. Of course it's not white porcelain, it will never be. But it got me rid of all the problems that rosaceea brings. So my advice is to go clean on your face: no cream, no lotion, nothing at all. Just organic argan oil that you buy from the store with natural products. You can use it as makeup remover too. Then rinse with a lot of water. I wish someone would have told me sooner.
All this cosmetics and products that even your doctor gives you it's very superficial, it's not meant to really stop your rosaceea. Stop putting chemicals on your skin, because they are the ones that are making the roscaeea worse.

Also, I know how important exfoliating is for this type of skin. So don't go putting chemicals on your face for this reason either. Exfoliate 1 or 2/ week with a natural mixture, that you personally can garantee is natural. And that can happen only with organic simple food ingredients.
      Do a mixture of:
      - 1 spoon of sodium bicarbonate ( this will reglate your skin pH)
      - 1 spoon of cornmeal ( this will be the real exfoliater)
      - 1 spoon of oat bran ( this will hidratate while exfoliating)
Rub this on your face to remove any dry patches, I do this especially where I have dark spots, on the nose skin, etc. Rinse very well with water.
Take into consideration to do this only before going to bed because the skin will get red. The next morning you will wake up and have a wonderful clean and silk face. The effect last 1 or 2 days after the treatment, but it does clean your face. Do not be tempted to exfoliate more than 1 or maximum maximum 2 / week.
Another advice: try to reduce any consuption of inflamatory foods. Try to eat/ drink as little as possible spicy foods and lower the coffee drinking. I noticed that everyone tells me how white and less red my skin is becoming especially after I do some days of coffeine break. I can't cut coffee permanently from my diet because it is healthy and it's good for low blood pressure. But I try to drink it maybe once every 4 days, or just in the weekend, as a treat. I didn't cut spicy food permanently from my diet, but I also keep it as a treat, for days when I actually crave it.
Also, try to not stay too much in the sun. But in Ireland I think the sun is so much gentle with your skin, you don't have to worry :)
I hope this will help you! All this advices I wrote above helped me sooo much. I got rid of my roscaeea 90% I will say. My skin is not perfect white, but I'm finally very happy with it! I can wear no makeup and not look bad! Such a great feeling!

What about a vit C or E oil, hv u tried either & did those not work? Thx for any feedback. Thank you so much for this! My skin is very textured - visible pores, active acne, discoloration/acne marks AND deep pockmarks. I can't wait to try this out! I've been using a buffing brush prior to this because it applies foundation a little faster than sponges but I've never thought it could the cause of the emphasis on the texture of my skin!

I think it's wonderful that u talked about not comparing your skin to anyone else's! That is sooooo important for especially young girls that think that the people they see with tons of makeup or whatever is real and they shouldn't compare themselves! These young girls don't realize that a lot of it is basically "smoke and mirrors" becuz no one is that perfect and I appreciate u talking about that! These young girls today have a lot of pressure to have the perfect lips or eyebrows or contour and it's all very pretty but they also need to realize that natural beauty is important too! So thank u for that! You are beautiful with or without makeup because you are beautiful on the inside! :)

I love these mini tips videos too, this one especially helped me out. but most of the time when i swipe something on my nose the foundation will immediately cling into my pores and not my skin so i end up with lots of foundation spots like freckles instead. Or that i can get the foundation on one but my nose redness will still show through so i go to use concealer and then it wipes away everything had already put down! If you could talk about that it would be amazing! Thanks for your great advice and hard work!
