Brilliant I’m 70 and haven’t got anyone to do this so thanks
You're very welcome Barbara
Nice one Barbara, you gave me the inspiration to get it installed too
I did mine and I’m clueless with writing.
I just used the cigarette port attachment and ran it down the A frame. Works well and shuts off when you turn off the ignition anyway……
@@jammin1881 but some cars that socket is always live...so it will still be on
@@WELLBRAN
Yeah I have it set so the camera turns off after five seconds and doesn't stay live when the engine is off.
For anyone who might be interested, the red wire, is for reversing, so basically you need to hook up that red wire with your reverse lights, you will (usually) find two wires, one negative and one positive. So you need to connect it with the positive wire of the reverse light, of course every car is different but the majority of time the wires are colour coded as white & blue.
*(Of course your car's reverse light wires might be of a different colour)*
You need to identify the reverse light wires and connect the red one to it.
I hope this helps.
Hey mine works without connecting the red wire?
I installed the rear camera (connected the HDMI with the front camera). (I didn't connect the red wire with the light). But the screen i didn't see the rear image.
@@2idiotsexplore572 does it show a reversing camera on the main camera?
Just to let any readers know. I've had the cam for about 2 months now and I'm very happy with it. I've wired both front and back and you have a really good peace of mind knowing that some idiot crashing into you (shouldn't) ruin your insurance premiums as you have evidence. Highly recommend. Didn't take too long to wire the rear cam either, I just ran the cable through the plastic linings in my cars roof where I could peel it back and a plastic tool and drilled the mount onto the rear roof with the screws provided!
@@wendychow3416 did you get it to work?
Just purchased this dash cam from Amazon and although I haven't installed it yet, your video will become very handy indeed. Thanks for taking the time.
You're very welcome, thank you for watching
What is your review of it now you’ve had it a while. Did it last and perform as you wanted?
@@TrippinTafty Hi Alex. Don't bother with it, mine stopped working after 2 months of minimal use. It also fried 2 mini sd cards that I left in the unit during the hot weather. I changed my car during that time with a built in dash cam so it wasn't needed anyway. Would I recommend it, no not really you get what you pay for I suppose.
I did the same and still have it in box most places won't install it as I didn't buy it there
Thanks for this video. You’ve just saved me £55 getting a professional to install it. My fella is mega pleased.
Just bought the S900 model the rear camera shows the left hand side of the road which is the correct side easy fit as I had a hard wired fit in place thank you The Caveman for making the rear even easier plastic bike tire lever makes easy work of pushing cable in
Just bought one from Amazon, had the wire under the glive box then saw your video and changed it to under the seat, great little camera set 👍 and great video
Thanks for a "NO TALKING" demo!!! No need for a red wire if you have rever backing up screen inside your car already...thanking for letting us know that also bud!
Thanks for taking the time to make this video for us. Much appreciated.
Just bought one of these so thanks for this video as i have never fitted a rear cam before
This one of the better videos that can be found so well done buddy. Just a helpful tip for people, I wouldn't use a screwdriver to push the cable, use a plastic blunt rod or something as the wire can be damage easily. As for the red wire my understanding is that it is not needed to be connected for rear camera to work, you can hook it to the positive cable of your reversing light so that when you put your car reverse the camera will come on so you have a reversing camera. The company instructions are unclear about it.
Thank you MrBonk and yes I totally agree about the screwdriver. Also that is correct about the red wire
I wish every video was as great as yours! Thank you very much!
Ordered this camera for some reason installation instructions are too vague, even created a return request but I am glad I saw this video, I am gonna give it a try. Thanks a lot!
Thank you, I've just fitted this in less than an hour in my daughters Polo. Your Video was really helpfull.
Thanks for going to the effort to show us how easy it is 👍
You're very welcome
Just got this for Christmas and glad I watch this video. Opening the box and seeing all the wires and first was a bit overwhelming lol
Nicely fitted, thanks for showing
Love how easy you make it look, but admit to being nervous doing it! I have no clue on how to attach the different coloured wires, etc
Honestly a great video easy to follow.
I've also installed my cam using the video
Thanks pal.
Installing mine this afternoon. Nice install and gave me some tips for mine.
Really helpful prior to purchase. Thanks so much for all your hard work
thanks for the video - just installed and works perfectly. I noticed the mirrored rear view as well not sure how to fix it
I'm sure it won't be long before most cars have cameras built in, which will make it a lot easier and hopefully bring down the cost of insurance.
Great video sir ,thanks for showing how simple it is to fit as i have just ordered one looks to have a decent quality images, again thank you
Very good helpful video. Yes, I too did not expect the rear camera to be a 'mirror' view. A bit disappointed. Mine also has a tendency to switch itself off occasionally. The previous dash cam I had showed my speed too but otherwise ok.
Thanks, I’ve just had one of these delivered and am awaiting the 32gb SD card in a few days time. This was very useful- good work!!.
Thanks, glad it helped
Very helpful! Thank You watching all the way from Jamaica
That helps a lot. Thanks guys !!!
PS: Instructions on why we have a red wire is on the instruction leaflet shown at the 11th second of the video.
So where does one connect the red wire to
@@jordanncube6411 It should be connected to the reverse light so that the camera system will know it should display only the rear camera when reversing. Being said that I haven't done this myself yet. This should be helpful especially when the rear camera is connected near the number plate. I hope this helps.
Perfect video. I can now install mine. Many thanks x
when you pulled off the plastic on the inside of the car and threaded the wire through a gap,, incredible
Thanks for the upload... it helps a lot.
Thanks for the vedio. It was very helpful. I've managed to install my dash cam
ur a legend fella , thanks
Great video Ian, although I wouldn't use a screw driver, a plastic tool is recommended. The only downside I see with is the cigarette lighter plug, I have USB so will have find a solution
Really nice and easy to understand, thank you very much
I love how you have to take apart your car to fit this.
I also love how the rear camera view just appears when you switch it on. I'm still trying to figure out why mine doesn't do that...
Don't suppose you ever figured it out? My rear camera isn't appearing on screen either.
Wonderful job buddy.
Your video help me a lot, thanks 👍
Glad you like it, thanks for watching
Great video. For some reason the suction cup doesn’t stick to my windshield. You touch it and it just falls all the way. I cleaned it, ensured no moisture etc but just doesn’t hold on to the Audi windshield.
Good tutorial and a plastic trim tool is safer on the wires/cables. Cheers!🍻
Great work mate
I've installed loads of dash cams but never had the rear view till I bought this one. I was hoping to see the red wire bit to the reversing light enabling you to also use it has a reversing camera but I see that was answered further down so just thought i'd say, great informative video! Very helpful. ;-)
Good video instructions, but where do you connect the red wire for the
Rear camera..
@@jordanncube6411 The red wire connects to one of your reverse lights. Therein, whenever you put your vehicle in reverse it switches to a reversing camera. I haven't done this yet so I cannot tell you how easy or hard it is to do but further down on another comment someone has advised of a little connecter that will make this part easier.
Hope this helps.
@@TrueGod1974 Thanks Scott, I'll try that one myself
Wonderful . Cheers mate
Your video is amazing and thank you
Super helpful. Thank you
Great, thankyou. I was wondering if it is possible for the camera to still be recording, but to turn the screen off sometimes,as it could be quite bright, especially at night.
Thanks for the video, but you jumped the most important thing for me.... Where should we fix the red wire if the back camera 🤔
Excellent job 👍 cool
Thanks
Top video! helped with were to put the wires
Thank you kindly.
Awesome!
Super Thank you!
Great video thanks
Tnx for this vid!
You're very welcome, thanks for watching
man has literal mallets for hands, bashing those panels back on, haha!
Great video, thanks a mill. Installed with all of the wires neatly hidden away in 20 minutes. Did anybody find a solution to the rear camera video being inverted?
Lol. I fitted this to the lower area and it was upside down, had to revise idea and move it to the roof liner, which it seems to have stuck and screwed to okay. Time will tell I guess. Camera only fits to the upper area, otherwise it's upside down video.
Imma use this to set mine up
just bought one not yet installed it. One thing I couldn't see is you connecting up the Reversing lamp positive lead. Do you need to do this?
The only criticism I have about this camera is the screwing feature, they could've used something simpler like slide in and out the camera instead of screwing it every time you get into your car.
Hi , why do you unscrew your camera every time you get into your car? I leave my camera in position, is it a security issue?
Thanks...Dai
@@1972piledriver Well, it's an invitation to break into your car and steal the camera, once it's taken there is no way of finding out who did it.
Cheers.
@@user-lo9si5dx8t ok, I understand, but you would still have to disconnect the cables and that's a faff lol maybe you could just take it off the windscreen with the suction cup? Or maybe not lol have a good evening 👍
@@1972piledriver I suppose you could yes when you come to think of it lol. Good evening.
Many thanks for this video. This was much better than trying to follow the Orskey instructions that came with the S800. Are those screws you had to use for the rear cam still tight? I worry they would work loose from the plastic panel over time.
Thanks for the comment Tony. The screws are still very much in place
Hi i am going to try thus tomorrow thank you
Thanks for the video. Very helpful. Just got an s800. Though will you do a video on installing the rear camera to the back light? I don't want to drill holes in my car 😀
Hi, I am thinking of making the video of the rear light/wire connection. Just going to wait til the weather picks up a little haha
As a quick fix push the camera holder into the panel (where you tuck the wires) and there will be no need for screws or sticky tape. But yes, a video on connecting the red wire would be great
Do u have to install the red wire to the reversing light in order it to work? I wanna know..does it still work and record rear view footage without connecting the red wire?
what size screws are they for the rear camera please as I lost mine i'm fitting my rear camera above the number plate
Thank you … but specific the back cámara where exactly ?? Can you tell me ?? I will appreciate ..
what did you do with the red wires on the review camera?
p.s. love the groovy tune
Do u have to add the wired or can u simply attach to window amd charge it as u go
Is the second camera for the back, when reversing
Good vid
I got this is one quick question can you toggle it to set it to full screen shows rear cam? I can't see how. If it does
What about the red wire?
Would have been helpful to show the attachment of the reverse light function!!!
Use a plastic tool to route the wires
Thank you for doing this. Did you do a 2-3 hours initial charge when you received the package? Did it help if you have? Anybody who’s done an initial charge on the unit? Thanks!
לא צריך, זה מחובר לחשמל של הרכב
The red cable where did u put it for the reversing lights as got one for my car and wondered how to connect it
I did. It's in the video. I haven't connected that yet (hopefully that's to come soon) I just tucked away down a plastic panel
Iam about to fot it in to my Toyota Hybrid. Knowing limited capacity of the battery, could this be a problem?
You are showing footage of the rear cam while driving forward , without connecting the red wire can you manually toggle between front and rear ?which is no big deal ,thanks
Great video thanks, very informative.is there a way to fit rear camera without drilling into car interior please?
Hi, sorry I'm not sure. I think it would depend on where you're planning on mounting it as it does have a sticky tab of sorts
how do you do the add on part where if you vehicle just bumped camera
Hi does the video record back and front at the same time in two separate files or is it like picture in picture?
Sorry for the late reply. It records as two separate files
Yes, it records on two different files, A and B.
How do you get rear cam to display on screen?
thank you for the tutorial but how i connect the cable to the reverse light
Find the supply side that feeds your reversing lights.... and connect that red wire to it. Then as soon as you select reverse , a live feed will go to the rear view camera, and show that image on your dash can viewer ... Sorted
Ah man this looks a right faff.
Helpful vid - not sure i'd recommend using a screwdriver to prise back plastic trim though...Have you had any issues saying 'SD card full'? Mine gets full every 10 days or so - I have a quality 32GB san disk extreme SD card so can only imagine its a setting somewhere? I have it on 3 min loop recording?
Normally I wouldn't recommend a screwdriver but it did the job and as long as you're careful shouldn't cause a problem. SD card gives me no issues at all as it immediately overwrites
You can change the resolution in the settings, the memory won’t be used up so quick then
Every 10 days? 😂😂😂 What do you expect? Just delete all the footage every few days, you only need to keep useful footage of any incidents you have. A 32gb card can’t store weeks of footage.
@@Sapper094 You've completely missed my point - it should record over itself when full. Thanks anyway.
Is there anyway to install the rear dash cam without drilling?
I used blu tak xD in all seriousness though, I think a command strip would be the best answer.
Does it record automatically or do I have to press something when I need to save a file ?
Hi, Do you know the screw size on the suction mount by any chance?
I pushed the wires in like this with a flat head screwdriver and it damaged the cable, my mistake but they are pretty thin ... plus i had no spare sockets for my dog n' bone so what i did was get a multi-port charger for in the car so i had two spare sockets and then got a 4m juicebitz usb to mini b cable and fixed this in its place instead... much thicker and powers on instantly... just wish they did the one from front to back and the rear camera is a bit naff... why do they make the wires so easy to damage??? surely these don't cost much???, needs better res. also the S680 is ok but they're all pretty much the same and fraction of price of garmin etc. If we change the car ill go for S900 model or this S800 one as all 1080p but not changing it now... good video thanks but advise everyone not to use a screwdriver really just prize the headlining and plastic back with it then push it in with a credit card to prevent damage ;)
How you swith from dash to rear camera ??
You speaking vs the music would've been better. Also, how did you connect the red wire?
That’s what I wanted to know too…
I only watched the damn thing to see how or where he connected it… grrrr lol.
Guys like you should be knighted! Thank you!
Lol no need but thank you for the wonderful comment
does it have bluetooth connectivity for phone?
When installing the rear cameras, you made two small holes using a drill. Is there any way the rear camera can be installed without making holes? I ask because my car is on a leasing agreement and I do not think I am allowed to be making holes. Thanks in advance!
Double sided tape?
How do you change date and time please?
Can you just use the front facing camera and with the cigarette port? I only want the front facing camera for when I’m driving and recording front facing stuff.
Thanks for posting!!
yeah you can
@@dashcamarmagh
Thanks! I already installed it and got it working. I’m actually impressed for the $ amount.
@@jammin1881 is it working well? curious to see how reliable such a cheap camera is
@@dashcamarmagh
I have no experiences with other cameras and this was my first dash cam.
It’s working well and drama free (so far)
I haven’t hooked up the footage to a computer yet though so can’t tell if it shows registration plates or smaller detailing though?!
For now it’s good though and just wired it to the 12Vport (cigarette port) where it shuts off when the engine stops.
How do you fix the SDC format error?
Hello. Love this video. Will definitely be watching again to install. I have a question tho, what does it mean when it constantly says install C6 & above?
It's your card, you need a faster card
@@djbrushie it’s the largest that it says I can use. Also it is a C6 so that’s what I am finding odd. Someone else had told me to format it. It shouldn’t have anything on it since it is brand new. But I am going to try that as well
The sensors works ok in back cámara ???
I couldn't manage to get the rear dashcam working does anybody know why this might be?
Oh yeah man thanks for taking the time to show this set up. I’ve got a car and want to make sure this is up and running. I’ll follow your guide. Great way to prevent dodgy drivers ? 👍🏽 Ps I was wondering if the back camera would work with blue tooth versions?
Is there anyway to view my footage through my phone?
how do u save videos? it’s driving me insane, i’m following the instructions , but i can’t get it to work. plz help
