  • First time trying the ultimate top coat. It really is a great and easy product. You don't lose the sparkle or depth which is awesome. Basically you swap the high shine for a little texture but added durability
    and quick use! #havenofvamp #epoxycounter #stonecoatcountertops #ultimatetopcoat #epoxycountertop #resincountertop

    I just love this. You have such a talent for composition and colors. This color combo is just gorgeous! It is just beautiful; I only wish I could see this in person, as I know it’s a thousand times better then any video and pictures can show.

      You are so right.. the video doesn't truly pick up the details and shimmer. I really try to capture the best I can! These colors all worked so well together ...copper with that slight lavender shimmer.. I was so happy!

      @@HavenofVamp My Countertops May as well be rocks with the UTC Matte. Everyone touches it scratches on it. Tough Stuff!

    • @HavenofVamp
      @HavenofVamp  3 роки тому

      Yeah I like the durability especially of the matte I just need to come up with something "natural" looking for the desk... that's the hard part for me

  • @Capellk
    @Capellk 2 роки тому +2

    Instead of rolling could it be poured on a table top and tilted around so there is no texture?

    • @HavenofVamp
      @HavenofVamp  2 роки тому +2

      That would not work. It's just unfortunately the the one downfall now the matte top coat has no texture and looks/ feels like real stone but that you lose a little bit of depth and sparkle. The texture is so minimal and smooth to touch it's a great option for people. But now you have put that seed in my head I might try it but I don't think it would work

    Nice job 🔥 🔥. Did the epoxy itself have more gloss before you did the ultimate top coat?

    • @HavenofVamp
      @HavenofVamp  Рік тому +1

      I have the full color coat video up so you can see. Ultimately yes .. epoxy on its own is high gloss.my personal favorite. The UTC is like a satin finish and then there is a matte. I was on a time crunch for this particular counter and is why I used the Top Coat

    That's amazing. What was the teal you used Vamp? The teal and copper hue in the middle of the design diagonally looks strategically placed, was it? You've really got the eye when it comes to colour placement. It all worked perfectly, love it ❤.

    • @HavenofVamp
      @HavenofVamp  Рік тому +1

      Oh I'm a perfectionist so yes I definitely have things placed strategically. I'll look in other video for the teal.

    • @HavenofVamp

      So I used a lot of colors. But dark Turquoise by colour obsession, bondi blue tint by colour obsession . I also used spray paints and micas. And the color shift is grumpy two faced at ATD. I use dark Turquoise as much as I can.

    So, I just got done using their natural top coat and it turned out to be too matte for me. I don't want high gloss of bare epoxy, but something in between. Did this take down the gloss at all from just the pure epoxy? Also, the texture on the top coat (natural) was a bit of a disappointment. I've heard the gloss has more texture. Thoughts on if the texture gives it away as non-stone? Beautiful piece!

    • @HavenofVamp
      @HavenofVamp  2 роки тому

      You definitely get texture with gloss. More then the matte you lose a little shine and get texture but can use counters in 72 hours. And thank you

    What is the water ratio ?

    • @HavenofVamp
      @HavenofVamp  7 місяців тому +1

      Pretty sure Stonecoat has full water ratio guidelines on their site now. It's less for matte. But off top of my head I probably did about .5 oz water to 1 oz of mixed product

    Where can i buy it?

    • @HavenofVamp
      @HavenofVamp  2 роки тому

      Stonecoat countertops, Amazon & RK3 designs all carry it but I think everyone is sold out. The Gloss at least. There is a "natural" finish too that is a matte feel

  • @relsuccess

    I tried the matte ultimate top coat and it was horrible. NOTHING like honed marble. Texture is like a hard shell suitcase and now my countertop looks like junky laminate. They told me to sand it off but now coming off. All that wasted money and time. I’m so mad 😡

    • @HavenofVamp
      @HavenofVamp  2 роки тому +1

      I haven't tried the matte yet... I know if you add a ton of water it comes out nice. RK3 designs is definitely who I would watch for info. I do agree that the top coats are more of an incasement. I know people have been able to sand down to epoxy and the re epoxy and it turns out nice so have hope!! The cool thing is epoxy is forgiving in that a quick sand and reapply fixes almost anything 😀

    • @sydneybird116
      @sydneybird116 2 роки тому

      Agree. The matte made my sample boards look like cheap plastic. It might be useful on a floor, but I would never use it on a countertop.

    • @sydneybird116
      @sydneybird116 2 роки тому +1

      Good luck sanding off a coating that is marketed to be scratch resistant. I would likely try to pour another color coat over it to at least save the trouble of making a new substrate.

    • @HavenofVamp
      @HavenofVamp  2 роки тому +2

      It's definitely not the easiest I've heard but I've seen it "fixed" by pouring clear flood coat on top

  • @dickgoesinya9419

    That sure is beautiful! What colors and pigments did you use? Is that the diamond dust over the colors?

    • @HavenofVamp
      @HavenofVamp  Рік тому

      I have all the colors pictured in the color coat video. I use lots of micas and pastes so I don't need to use anything in my flood coat.
