Thank you 😊… I had HO when I was young, had a blast with the different sets growing up. At first I was just planning on grabbing a few pieces of track and building up some boards showing the different things I have come up with for HO.. but after pondering this for awhile I decided to build a full layout. Didn’t feel right unless I put as much effort into building this HO layout as I did my 1/32 one. But I’m really looking forward to this. Love that the track is as small as it is. I can fit a lot more on the table space that I came up with.
As an old head, ex-slot car guy, I'm imagining myself having unlimited resources to do this sort of thing. H.O. was fun for a while, but 1/24 racing on commercial tracks was where it's at for me. Let's see what kind of scenery we come up with. That's the real fun of H.O. "Model Motoring." Looking forward!
Recent subscriber, w/ full bell. So happy you're tackling H.O. - I'm being re-bitten by the slot car bug again (3x's?) .. (oh God last time it was a 13k member forum, a huge 1/32 routed 4 x 16 monster, and racing every Fri nite..) . This time we're going easy with H.O (famous last words), and genuinely looking forward to what comes of it! Keep going!!!
Awesome Boone looking forward to it….hot and heavy into my model motoring layout with all the ideas and help from your channel…..I to wanted to do Road America but changed my plans to fit a 4x8 size….kool stuff….and having a blast…..just gotta figure it out….
Hey Boones I just saw a video where a guy used a 4 x8 sheet of 8 inch foam for his table to start his build with your fantastic skill it would be fantastic way to start
Yes… I went ahead and built a table for the HO layout. Made it light do I could mount underneath my 1/32 table on a cable crank so I can lower and raise the HO table. This will be the next video that I will film for the HO build… hope to film soon
I gotta know did you learn some of your fantastic skills from your father? I remember setting up my first ho track with my dad 60 yes ago. Very fond memories
Actually the skill of connecting all the track together came from my mother , she could always figure it out.. 😂 but my love of racing was from my father and I recon that the way I set up my tracks comes from the years spent traveling around to the different tracks he raced at , great memories
Just found your channel. Love your videos and especially the intro. One suggestion for all of the new to come HO videos, please try to keep them short to a max of like 20 minutes or so. I see you have some an hour and 20 minutes. That's WAY too long. Keep it short and keep it sweet. Let's DO this!
Thanks 😊 glad you found the channel… I’ll see what I can do with the length , but unfortunately I have tried shorter videos and I end up getting lots of questions on how to do certain things. So I found out that if I explain things more in-depth I don’t end up with as many questions… but that creates a longer video
Thanks bud.. quite a few very talented scenery gurus out there. … but as far as the Hotwheels bodies, yes I have looked into this. I happen to have a few Hotwheels, it was an addiction a few years back.. 😂 last count was around 8k cars…
I hope soon. I just was able to re-engineer the legs for my 1/32 layout to fit around this table over the weekend. My next video that I have planned is for light post on the 1/32 layout, and the video after that will be addressing the HO layout
Hey Boone, I've been thinking about putting the Giant raceway together as shown on the box. I'm thinking about getting another one and combining them. What type of power source should I use as far as volts and amps?
Hi Mike , very cool about the track.. there are a few different makes of adjustable power supply’s on the market. It all comes down to how much $ do you want to invest. Trackmate makes a few different styles and price ranges. Or you could run the stock one with jumpers around the track as well. As far as volts and amps ? That comes down to your preference. With an adjustable unit you have many options…
So I've decided, I'm gonna put one power supply on one lane, and the other power supply on the opposite lane. I know that, the more track you lay, the more power you lose. Since I'm getting another raceway and there's 62.5 more feet, not sharing one power supply should do the trick. If not, then I'll take your advice and get an adjustable power supply. Thanks for the tip Boone and can't wait for the live today.😎
@@mikelandis6042 wise choice Mike , this might just work out good for you. And it’s a less expensive way to go as well. Being that you are using new track you should be okay…
1/64th does have banked corners. The best way to make an authentic high banked nascar style oval would be to make your own custom router track with MDF . That way you can create that large Daytona style corner, and you can make it multiple lanes
Great job booner I will be sure to watch all your videos with my son
Thanks Cal ,, that’s awesome
Good idea and through finding Ho pit lane from Tyco and came early sets with pickup trucks racing sets
I loved the work you done on your 132 track but I am a ho man so this is really great thanks so much

Booner after your track is set up and while you are doing scenery which you are the best at you may consider
Customizing hot wheel bodies on you go slot cars for something different

Do the Silverstone club
That’s a good idea
I'm a circle track racing enthusiast who is researching slot cars, I would only have room for 1/64 , how do you make banked turns though.
1/64th does have banked corners. The best way to make an authentic high banked nascar style oval would be to make your own custom router track with MDF . That way you can create that large Daytona style corner, and you can make it multiple lanes
@@BoonesSlotCarGarage very cool, will have to look into how routed track is built.
Recent sub. Please forgive my ignorance....what is HO?
No worries, HO is a 1/64 scale slot car . Much smaller than the 1/32 scale that is the most popular.
Isn’t HO 1/87 scale?
HO trains are indeed 1/87, but HO slot cars are generally closer to 1/64.
