I'm 21, I've deleted all social media, and I swapped my iPhone for a flip phone. It's been a month, and now I'm thinking of getting myself a bike for my 22nd birthday. I love the calming feeling I get from living a simpler life. I really like your content.
I did that once and the flip phone was so slow and crashed all the time - so it ended up stressing me out more than my iphone 😅 Also that iphone will come in useful for navigating while on your bike! Otherwise, great idea getting rid of the socials, they're genuinely useless.
@@_Shadbolt_ Were you using one of the "smart-ish" flip phones? I got turned on to the idea of them when I saw one in a video but very quickly started to hear about issues like that with them and decided against it. Now I'm wondering if maybe the best solution might be a paired smartwatch and just keeping the actual phone buried in my bag to manage my bad impulsive scrolling habits that way? Tinkering around with time limits and minimalist launchers and stuff just... Doesn't seem to cut it enough tho... I definitely feel similarly - have always fancied the idea of going back to the days I had a slide phone. I could call, text, and low res pictures. No socials, no distractions, no smartphone addiction. I also tend to get rather down on myself for not being able to curb my usage and still have a smartphone that does all the amazing things that it can do... Lovely job, Marcus. My favorite part of this video is all of the scenery. If you run out of ideas for future videos, I think riding around Seoul is perfect. Cheers
I'm 29, never owned a car. The best part of bike commuting? Taking your reality in on every ride. It's meditative, mindful, and relaxing, even if im running fifteen minutes late, i'll get there when i get to it...
Absolutely wonderful. Loved it. I’m just so grateful for atavistic Rivendell ownership, a window into South Korea, the almost vulnerability but certainly normality of a real man, coffee and clean bowls. You’ve reminded me adventure is a personal choice and that there’s so much joy in the smallest things. Bravo. Thank you
I'm 67 and I am starting to commute to my job by bike every day. There is no better way to start the day than being outside riding your bike in to work. I get to work feeling great about myself and the commute home gives me time to decompress from my day.
This is oddly therapeutic I also love that you mixed in parts with music, but for the dialogue, you didn’t even have background music - somehow it was exactly what I wanted, this perfect blend between music and the realism of day to day life, and cycling playing a very large role in helping you enjoy each and every moment 😌
Love your videos! Don’t stress if you miss a week or post late. Part of the joy I get from your videos is knowing you’re enjoying the process of making them. If you stopped making videos today, I’d just keep rewatching the ones you’ve already made.
Weekends are made for your videos! I wish I have a commute like that. It is nice to ride casual, no spandex etc. Thanks for the ride, the views, food and of course the coffee.
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.” Nice and slow for me, too. Five mile ride is perfect. Even when (especially when) I overhear someone bragging about a 140-mile ride in spandex 😂
As a Dutch man who grow up with a bike, i know exactly the feeling of love for bicycles. im 42 now and do almost everything i can on the bicycle. you had a buzy and stressful day at work? ride it off and feel happy when you get back home :) great video :) greetings from the Netherlands
Right now I'm bussing to work, because it's out of biking range for my body. And I do love the bus - the people watching and feeling like a part of society instead of alone in my car. My last job was closer so I biked and loved that so much. Especially, like you said, watching the seasons change. I was connected to that in a way I never had been before.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who loves commuting by bike! I absolutely love, to college - home - work. My fav part is biking and just feeling alive and youthful! God bless y’all and may you stay safe!! 😊
Your video reminded me of my bike rides during our first Covid lockdown and I was forced to take a flask of coffee with me as cafes weren’t open yet. Many happy memories of sitting on the grass by a river watching nature laughing at us stupid humans. I love the simple pleasures in life and am glad to see I’m not alone. 🙏🏼
Yeah! Covid was the time that riding my bike really helped me. That was when I started bring a flask of coffee on my commutes. I made a video talking about how riding bikes helped my mental health during that time. Check it out 👍🏻
Love these videos that you’re making- got me back into bike commuting where I live too. It’s a long ride that I now take slowly, it’s become such a good thing The thing I like about your videos is that you’re making riding your bike a part of your life, showing what joy it gives you. Any video where you do that for me is a very relaxing watch, thanks for doing these
Feedback: I enjoyed this video a lot! I like that you SHOWED us your way of riding a bike around your home rather than TELL us how to ride around your city. I am tired of “Advice Videos on Cycling.” But I do enjoy seeing a glimpse into other people’s lives that cycle for fun and commuting. Thank you!
Terrific content! It has a great poetic feel to it and even a somewhat existential style. It’s a way of living your life where simple pleasures take center stage. Riding my bike makes me happy too. It’s a great way to find peace and serenity in a world that never seems to sleep. Am never bored or bothered when on my bike. Instead I feel as free as a bird soaring high above it all. Don’t commute but try to ride daily all year round. Would rather ride in the rain than in hot weather. Anything above 85 degrees Fahrenheit keeps me at home. Will ride though early in the morning right after sunrise and get back home before it gets too hot. Have two Specialized hybrids: one is a pretty aggressive setup while the other is more unassuming. Love riding them both as they add variety to my rides. Have you ever thought of getting a folding bike like a Brompton? Really liked it when you said your bike was waiting for you outside, referring to it as if it were a person. How poetic! Never heard any other cyclists speak that affectionately about their bike. I too have affection for my bikes but never realized how much until I saw this video.
Love your content! Absolutely feel so wonderful to watch them all again and again. Me and my kid watch them when we get some screen time together. He loves your colorful handlebar grips. I'm from India and have been commuting on bicycle since my undergrad days, now I'm 39. The best part of my day is the commute to work, grocery rides and some reason just to get on the bike like 'to get some fresh air'. Even though there is absolutely NO cycling infrastructure here plus the unsafe driving ethics of a car loving society, just a look at my bike and I get a calling to go out there and pedal up and spike up the serotonins and endorphins, not worrying about anything at all. I used to record my rides on an old GoPro Hero3 to share them to my foreign colleagues on how I ride my bicycle in Indian traffic and your channel inspired me to make some videos out of the collection. Thanks for creating such lovely content and keep inspiring us!
I'm going to go home and clean my Atlantis after watching this. You have reminded me why my Atlantis is one of my favorite of all things. I've commuted to work by bicycle for more than 30 years. I am always surprised that my neighbors use cars to get to the same place I ride to every day.
I’m the same. I see people in the cars stuck traffic and think why would you want to do that. I realise it’s a necessity for some though. Can’t believe I own my dream bike. Certainly a forever bike.
I've always been into minimal bikes. I have a fixed gear for over 8 years now and I've been thinking about buying something more comfortable. I was looking for an old "speed" bike and then I stumbled across your channel and now I'm obsessed with your bike. it's fucking beautiful, man!!!!
Simplicity of fixed is cool but I value comfort more nowadays. I still think my bike is fairly simple and I’m able to maintain is easily with minimal tools.
Your commute is stunning ! I love mine in Paris, cycling everyday and seeing the eiffel tower, especially at night during winter, it's my reward for a hard day of work !! Cycling in London was fun as well but I was always worried of my bike being stolen. Putting effort in vintage bike restauration add emotional value to my bikes :(( !
@@probablyriding I'd say yes ! Used to live near London bridge and if you let an ebike or an expensive looking road bike here it would get stolen within an hour in broad daylight with an angle grinder. Here in Paris I never saw anyone stealing a bike with an angle grinder and people are not too worried about using ebike or road bike for their commute and attaching them in the street with a D-lock. Second hand bikes are also cheaper in the London area because most stolen bikes are sold at a ridiculous price which kinda breaks the market of second hand bikes there.
Starting riding Mtb's at 40. Picked up a cheap road bike from a friend that was moving and started commuting. It's a 32km round trip and it's honestly my the best part of my days. Winters get tricky though as we get actual snow and crazy cold temps but on the good days I also ride in the winter. Still beats sitting in traffic no matter what time of year! Cool video, keep riding! 😊
I’m in my early 30’s and just purchased my first bike; commuting to work now, five miles each way. It’s a challenge because I struggle with anxiety and I don’t like being “seen” but visibility is essential when you’re on a bike, surrounded by cars. It’s a good challenge though, especially when it does better for my health and the planet. Your content is pleasing to watch. It’s familiar to me as an english speaker who is learning Korean and getting into cycling. Cheers.
This is crazy- I am in my twenties and I also have started running my little errands on my bike. >.< I also have anxiety and I feel like cycling has pushed me out of my head. In my experience, if I start to think I won’t be able to balance or I am going to hit a tree, I do. It has forced me to live in the moment and trust myself and my body. Similarly to your experience, I have been afraid of the cars and uncomfortable with being seen, but part of cycling is making sure you are visible and confident so that cars can see you and hopefully not run us out the road.
I find it so much easier to explore cities on bike. Here in Japan, I find a similar experience. New places, old places, good food. That's good cycling. Beautiful bike you have, too.
Bike commuter from Austin, Texas. Love this video. Good advice to look forward to the bike ride, to see it as the best part of your day. That you “get to” ride a bike. Especially in hilly, hot Austin. Thank you for a great video ❤
I used to work for a company near East Grinstead, UK and my cycle commute from home was 1 mile on local town roads then 8 miles on a gravel bridleway which was an old railway line that cut through the countryside called "Worth Way". 6 years of commuting on it and I had some amazing times, several dog attacks, a horse attack and thick snow that lasted for ages on the country lane. It was a real adventure and I actually valued the commute more than the job (don't tell my old boss). I have moved on and working back up in London but with remote working, I am cycling out in the morning with some nice coffee stops before returning home, so a sort of proxy-commute. Fascinating that you are still in semi-casual tie-based attire in the workplace. From a visit to Tokyo, I remember business is still very formal in terms of dress-code. It appears that you are not having to wear a full suit which is great :). I was interested to hear you say that they are not used to bikes and that traffic can be heavy. I noted that in Japan to but also the pedestrian areas were mixed with cycling, which I thought was great given that in the UK its strickly a no-go option to mount the curb in a busy Town/City. I loved that in Japan and was very happy for shared used and common sense. I sometimes get the feeling that we simply can't have nice things in the UK because our cultural landscape means that we will lean into risky violent issues for example, allow mixed used of pavement areas and people will ride the pavements at 50mph on e-bikes knocking everyone over.. Common sense is hard to find in the UK. I heard from a friend living in Japan that they have the highest level of bike theft in the world. However, its apparently like the umbrella situation, where bikes left unlocked outside shops are often grabbed, cycled 2 blocks and then left again. The owner then reports it to the police and in the vast majority of cases the bike is quickly found. But its still registered as theft by the police. This could be urban myth! Great video as ever and nice to see the bike in action again and the coffee buzz was palpable.
That sounds like a delightful commute apart from the dog attacks! Always love riding out on the bridleways back at home. Japan and Korea have some similarities but are very different. I reckon bike theft thing must be an urban myth. Korean’s also think their country has the highest theft but I looked at the numbers and they’re nowhere near European countries or the US. Bikes get stolen here because rolls either don’t lock them at all or they’re just locked badly with cheap locks. I love how safe it is.
What a beautiful way to think about commuting by bike. I really enjoyed watching this video. The clips while riding the bike, your thoughts about commuting by bike. I'm 34, living in Germany, also never owned a car. Commuted with public transport and bike (just in summer) for years. Since the corona pandemic I only go by bike. I prefer to wear sporty clothes while riding, so I always carry an extra set of clothes for work around. And I also have a set of rain clothes. Using a bike to get around was always a very natural thing to do for me. I'm super flexible when it comes to time management, get at least 40 minutes of exercise daily, costs less than the alternatives and is good for the environment. And on tpp of that: I just like riding bikes. Did it as a kid and never stopped. As the years past by I may have lost a few of these positive feelings and thoughts about it. So I take this video to start remembering why I enjoy riding a bike and what it means to me. So, thank you for the video and your thoughts. And the beautiful shots of Seoul. Have a beautiful weekend.
Another relevant video for our time. I love all the narrow back alleys and streets, tiny stores, tiny grocery stores etc. Here in western canada, where I live, a vehicle is a necessity, but I long for a small town where I could ride everywhere for everything I need. I'm not complaining, I have very good riding here in the mnts, but we need a truck as well. Thanks for the good videos
I live in a city where everyone says cars are a necessity-and they are. I have also started to cycle for my small little errands like getting a cup of coffee or going to pick up a few things from target. Maybe you can do this as well! I know at first I felt like a thirty min. Bike ride was crazy and also fearful that I might need my car. Those fears are from my inner car-propagandist. And I love proving it wrong now lol
This warmed my heart! I've been enjoying my commutes by bike on my college campus - I'll be trying to live in a bike-able community for the rest of my life.
Love watching you cruise around all the different parts of the city! I commute by bike some. This week I've been using my bike every day! I'm having so much fun! Stopping for local ice cream on the way home in the afternoon, it doesn't get any better than that (since I don't do coffee 😉)!!
Your positive personality and joy in the simple things of life is the “secret sauce” of your videos. We are expats living in Indonesia and enjoy seeing daily life somewhere else. The streets, markets, cafes, and food is fascinating. Thanks for sharing and the effort to make these.
I think enjoying the simple things is the secret sauce to happiness. Would love to visit Indonesia. A lot of my instagram followers are from there so there must be a cool bike scene somewhere over there!
When I was younger and new to NYC, I cycled to work now and then, but it was pretty intense and a bit scary most times. This was before dedicated bike lanes, and I eventually stopped and just rode for fun on weekends. Now that I've been out in the suburbs/countryside for 20 years, I hope to retire to a bikeable city/town and follow your lead. I'm soooo tired of driving, cycling is much more fun, enjoyable, and practical at the same time. Next time we visit Seoul, I plan to explore it a bit on a bike, thanks to your inspired videos. 감사합니다!
With UA-cam full of tutorial videos, i thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Thank you so much. I commute by bike in the summer in Alaska. 30-40 min ride. Pretty decent bike paths in Fairbanks.
Amazing video!! So glad the UA-cam algorithm shown me this! I’m specifically moving closer to work in the next couple of months simply so I can cycle there rather than drive an hour each way! Every time I’m stuck in traffic on my commute I’m jealous of everybody getting to work via bicycle haha! Really enjoyed this! Subscribed!
I’d love to see a video compilation of the shots of your bike with the beautiful backgrounds and flowers. 🌸 🚲 🏠 Those are always one of my favorite moments in your videos.
the way you film your environment is beautiful! very serene with good framing. i just got two bikes to tinker with for my work commute down a giant hill, and this is just what i needed!
I'm so envious of safe bike lanes. I started bike commuting when covid hits the world and because i'm a frontliner i needed a transportation. My country is car-eccentric so bike lanes are not really a priority. I even develop skills like situational awareness in dangerous situations with aggressive cars and motorcycles.
Another entertaining and chill vid! I can completely relate to you. I lived in NY for a few years and I remember what a challenge it was to do any kind of bike maintenance in our tiny apartment. We ended up using the hallway as a “shop”. Cities present all kinds of challenges for cyclists so you find out real quick if/how much you love cycling. So cool to see how you manage those challenges in your city. Keep up the great. Looking forward to next week’s drop!
Hooray for the algorithm with this one! There's really nothing more you needed to add about the practicalities of bicycle commuting. You either do it because you have to or you love to. You love your bike and you love to find every reason whenever practical to ride it. I feel that way about my own basic hybrid workhorse. It's unmistakably my own with racks, bags and accessories galore. Also because I'm 2 metres tall, it always stands out handlebars and saddle above every other bike around it. The star of your video though were the back streets and scenic views of your commutes and the restaurants. If you do nothing more than just remake versions of this video again and again, I will keep coming back for more. 👍and subscribed. Oh, and no matter how much you love making videos and riding your bike, make sure you spend more time with your wife and making sure she knows that you love her even more! Priorities! Never forget.
Awesome video. You captured it perfectly. And i too run on coffee and ice cream on my bikes! Bon route from Montreal. PS: I shared this with several other folks. Really wonderful work.
Riding and owning a bicycle actually saved my life! I was actually overweight and obese but it only took 2 full years to lose half of my overall weight and lost some weight and it took me off some major Hypertension and heart medications and it made me feel much better for myself. I just can't see myself being obese again by living a sedentary lifestyle hence I will continue to ride my bicycle!
I briefly was very much car "light" while living in Oregon a few years back and dearly miss that lifestyle. Much more difficult with where I live now. It really is like a portal into another world when you live mostly by bike, especially in a place with the infrastructure. Hoping to get back to that world in the near future, thanks for sharing! And not to state the obvious but that Atlantis looks like a dream!
That’s a good way of putting it. It does feel like a portal to another world. I always feel like I’m on the outside looking in at everything else. Lucky to have better infrastructure than a lot of places here. Hope you can find that portal again!
Your videos have such a chill and centered vibe. Really enjoy watching them. Cool to learn about Seoul through the lens of a fellow bike & coffee lover. Cheers!
Very cool bike. Makes me wonder if the swing back bars would be better than what I'm rocking: I have bulhorns which are nice but not an upright posture. I live in London and we do have to race traffic a lot and it's important to be able to accelerate quickly, so I like the bullhorns but do wish I had a more relaxed posture at times.
I’m a huge fan of swept back bars. I think you can still get pretty good speed with them. I had an upright bike swept back bars when I lived in London too.
I've been planning to start biking more this year as the weather gets nicer where I live in Wisconsin. I'm look forward to seeing how you handle the changing of the seasons. That's one of the big hurtles for me biking in where I live, our weather is a bit all over the place sometimes. I hope that by seeing how you handles cold, warm, dry, or wet rides will give me ideas and motivation on how to do the same.
Woooo! Thanks for sharing this video! I'm going to explore a new route to work tomorrow and maybe bring some coffee so I can stop off somewhere on my way!
Wet rim brakes make the same beautiful squeal, whether it's on a thrashed out Schwinn Varsity or that extremely lovely Rivendell. We need constants in life. 😊
Loving your videos, keep up the excellent work! Maybe a massive pain, but would love to get the names/locations for the resturants and coffee places you introduce in your videos. Any chance you can add them in the notes for future uploads?
In a few weeks, I'm finally moving out of my parents' house and to the other side of town. I've lived in the same house for almost as long as I can remember, so I'm nervous about the change, but I'm also getting excited to explore the new area. Especially since I'll be living just a couple of kilometres from work, I've been thinking I should take my old bike with me and pick up riding again. Thank you for the inspiration and encouragement!
Great video, love your channel and glad to be hear as a sub. Your comment about get a "comfortable bike" is so true. I think too many new cyclists buy into the marketing hype and what the LBS is "selling you" on without really doing a deep dive into their needs. Prioritize "proper fit" and "comfort" over high tech doo-dads and materials. If you're not comfortable you won't enjoy yourself and if you don't enjoy something, you'll give up. I love your channel because it's just "chill". You really just show how fun, easy and enjoyable cycling can be and how integrating it more into your life isn't that hard. My only comment is how important good cycling infrastructure is. I live in a mid-sized city just outside of Toronto, Ont. Canada and our cycling infrastructure is OK at best, LOTS of room for improvement. Our local government "talks" about being cycling friendly but talk is cheap. You need to be able to get around safely without people and cars seeing you as a "nuisance". And CYCLISTS NEED TO THEIR PART too by being good ambassadors to our sport and not riding like self-entitled jerks. Keep up the good work.
Loved the video. The cycling infrastructure in Seoul looks very civilized. I have a 30 km daily commute in Toronto on what is considered the gold standard of infrastructure here, and between the roadies, bike share newbies, joggers, tourists standing in the middle of the pathways taking selfies, drivers turning across the path in all directions, dogs on 10 metre long leashes, etc. its not really a relaxing commute...until November or December, when it gets peaceful again.
Been enjoying watching your videos from Oregon. I've recently gotten back to commuting around town on bicycles. It's been a blast and a lot of fun. I really appreciate how you emphasize: ☕+🚴=🙂. Cheers to another lovely video!

Awesome video, amazing shots, good editing and loved the voice over also, a video who puts you in the mood 😎 And yeah Seoul is great, been there a bit in 2018 I liked it, biked a bit too.
Love the tip of getting a second hand bike. It's important to have bicycle being affordable for everyone! My suggestions of future videos: - I'd love to see your process of planning a trip to the countryside. What maps do you use, how do you decide on campsites? - Always excited with specific stuff to South Korea, maybe some "language learning video" with information about important (bicycle related) phrases might be nice? Also things like road signs or traffic rules specific to South Korea... - Videos on specific districts of Seoul might also be interesting.
I work from home and I still ride 5-20miles each morning rain or shine. I treat it as my commute. I try to run most errands on my bike as well. My day is always better when I get a ride in.
Brompton’s are great commuter bikes. My brother’s commute in London is part riding and part on the train. Great to be able to take his bike on the train easily.
Hello again from Singapore! Even a short 20 minute commute here warrants at least changing your shirt when you arrive. I’m going to try a longer commute to my work’s other office soon, be over an hour each way. Definitely need to bring a gym bag with me to get changed and shower! Cycling I’ve found has been a great way to spend time with my daughter, she loves being in the seat up front and able to chat about the things we’re seeing.

Bravo. Thank you
Just wanted to acknowledge that this is a great comment !
Wow. Thank you so much. I really appreciate what a positive space this is on the internet!
I'm 67 and I am starting to commute to my job by bike every day. There is no better way to start the day than being outside riding your bike in to work. I get to work feeling great about myself and the commute home gives me time to decompress from my day.
Totally agree. Keep on riding.
This is oddly therapeutic
I also love that you mixed in parts with music, but for the dialogue, you didn’t even have background music - somehow it was exactly what I wanted, this perfect blend between music and the realism of day to day life, and cycling playing a very large role in helping you enjoy each and every moment 😌
Thank you!
Finally I found a channel dedicated to urban cycling, most of them are cycling as a hobby not as a day to day thing. I subscribe immediately
Thank you!
Love your videos! Don’t stress if you miss a week or post late. Part of the joy I get from your videos is knowing you’re enjoying the process of making them. If you stopped making videos today, I’d just keep rewatching the ones you’ve already made.
Thanks. Always enjoying making them. If it stresses me, I’ll take a week off!
Completely agree, don’t end up being a slave to your schedule.
Weekends are made for your videos! I wish I have a commute like that. It is nice to ride casual, no spandex etc. Thanks for the ride, the views, food and of course the coffee.
Thanks so much for watching every weekend. Pretty lucky I have this commute. I know it’s not easy for a lot of people to commute by bike.
Riding bikes in the Netherlands is a dream. Incredible infrastructure. Thanks for watching! 👀
Most things are better than a car if you’re in a city at least.
I’m so glad I’m not the only one who loves commuting by bike! I absolutely love, to college - home - work. My fav part is biking and just feeling alive and youthful! God bless y’all and may you stay safe!! 😊
That feeling is hard to beat!
Check it out 👍🏻
the pure relaxation and emotion this video invoked is beyond my ability to elaborate on. thank you
Wow, thank you
Love these videos that you’re making- got me back into bike commuting where I live too. It’s a long ride that I now take slowly, it’s become such a good thing
The thing I like about your videos is that you’re making riding your bike a part of your life, showing what joy it gives you. Any video where you do that for me is a very relaxing watch, thanks for doing these
Great to hear! How many people can say that they enjoy their commute? Thanks to bikes, I do.
Thank you!
Thank you. I was wary of sounding preachy because circumstances are different everywhere. Thanks for watching!
Well said! Thank you so much.
Thank you! Stay safe on those roads!
Just sat down with a cup of coffee and saw this was posted. Awesome!
Perfect!
The chrome and teal on your bike looks great ❤
I think so too!
These videos are such a delight to watch. Thank you again for another one!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Paris has improved so much for cycling. It's awesome. Do you think Paris is safer for bike theft than London?
Good stuff!
Cheers.
I how as you cycle more, you enjoy it more and get used to being seen. 한국어 열심히 공부하세요.
ThanKs for the videos, really look forward to watching them after coming back from my own rides!
Glad you like them. From one ride to another!
You're a breath of fresh air, I love watching your videos as I also commute to work on my custom Dawes
Awesome, thank you!
I loved every minute of it. So calm, and relaxing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I find it so much easier to explore cities on bike. Here in Japan, I find a similar experience. New places, old places, good food. That's good cycling. Beautiful bike you have, too.
Cycling in Japan is on another level. Excited to explore Tokyo and Kyoto with my bike again this summer.
Bike commuter from Austin, Texas. Love this video. Good advice to look forward to the bike ride, to see it as the best part of your day. That you “get to” ride a bike. Especially in hilly, hot Austin. Thank you for a great video ❤
Right on!
Thanks for your thoughts. I hope you continue to love riding your bike.
Yeah. Some places a car is a necessity. Riding out in the mountains over there would be sweet.
Another great bike video! Thank you for sharing your life!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Those dishes looked amazing! Loved the chill atmosphere and beautiful (and for a westerner exotic) cityscapes.
Thanks
This warmed my heart! I've been enjoying my commutes by bike on my college campus - I'll be trying to live in a bike-able community for the rest of my life.
Lucky to have the infrastructure and to have tue choice to move somewhere with it!
Love watching you cruise around all the different parts of the city! I commute by bike some. This week I've been using my bike every day! I'm having so much fun! Stopping for local ice cream on the way home in the afternoon, it doesn't get any better than that (since I don't do coffee 😉)!!
Very nice! Always nice to stop for an ice cream on a bike ride 🍦
I love this video - everything about it. Your love for cycling shines through so bright!
Thank you!
감사합니다!
Thank you!
With UA-cam full of tutorial videos, i thoroughly enjoyed watching this. Thank you so much.
I commute by bike in the summer in Alaska. 30-40 min ride. Pretty decent bike paths in Fairbanks.
Thank you. A bike commute in Alaska sounds great!
Subscribed!
That’s a good call! Hope you enjoy your commute by bike 👍🏻
I’d love to see a video compilation of the shots of your bike with the beautiful backgrounds and flowers.
🌸 🚲 🏠
Those are always one of my favorite moments in your videos.
Noted! Thank you
Hello again from San Francisco. Excellent video! You got such a positive outlook. Just keep doing what your doing. Love the videos and the bikes
Thank you!
the way you film your environment is beautiful! very serene with good framing. i just got two bikes to tinker with for my work commute down a giant hill, and this is just what i needed!
Thank you very much!
Grateful for what I have but still feel there’s a long way to go.
Definitely a little trickier to work on bikes whilst living in an apartment. I find cleaning the hardest.
Wonderful video - love the style, fantastic narration, beautiful scenery, great philosophy. Looking forward to the next one !
Many thanks!
Thanks so much! Happy wife, happy life!
Love your set up on the bike, very practical yet classy and traditional. Great video, thanks for taking us around Seoul in such an enjoyable manner.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for video, awesome fair play 👍
Thanks 👍
Seoul looks absolutely breathtaking! From the delicious looking food to the coffee, what more could you ask for :)
Thank you! Seoul is especially amazing in May.
Awesome video. You captured it perfectly. And i too run on coffee and ice cream on my bikes! Bon route from Montreal.
PS: I shared this with several other folks. Really wonderful work.
Thank you! Seems like there’s a nice bike scene over there in Montreal.
Riding and owning a bicycle actually saved my life! I was actually overweight and obese but it only took 2 full years to lose half
of my overall weight and lost some weight and it took me off some major Hypertension and heart medications and it made me feel
much better for myself. I just can't see myself being obese again by living a sedentary lifestyle hence I will continue to ride my bicycle!
That’s great to hear! 🚲👍🏻
What a beautiful video, much love from Mississauga, Canada
Thank you so much!
Cheers!
Thank you so much! So much good coffee here.
You have a beautiful bike, and I love the calm pace of the video, take care! cheers from Uruguay 👏
Thank you very much!
i agree 100 as i build mine great video , its so nice to see how one lives by bike in different places in the world . thank you so much my friend
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your videos. You've got a nice life going. Wish we had that kind of bike infrastructure here in New Jersey!
Thanks for watching. Lucky to have the infrastructure here.
That was such a fun video. You’ve inspired me to commute in Melbourne! Hope you’re having a nice week Marcus!
Thanks! I’d imagine a commute in Melbourne could be quite fun. Hope the move is going well.
Another wonderful video. They always make the day better.
Hope you enjoyed that 🇦🇺 coffee 😊
Thank you! The coffee is delicious. Works very nicely as an iced coffee too.
Will for sure be making videos over the winter. I commute all year round and kind of enjoy cycling in the cold!
Woooo! Thanks for sharing this video! I'm going to explore a new route to work tomorrow and maybe bring some coffee so I can stop off somewhere on my way!
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it!
Wet rim brakes make the same beautiful squeal, whether it's on a thrashed out Schwinn Varsity or that extremely lovely Rivendell. We need constants in life. 😊
💦
I’m commuting 2 days a week to work. I will try some different routes. Thanks for another beautiful video.
Have fun!
Loving your videos, keep up the excellent work! Maybe a massive pain, but would love to get the names/locations for the resturants and coffee places you introduce in your videos. Any chance you can add them in the notes for future uploads?
Thanks! Maybe I’ll start doing that in the next video.
Hope you enjoy your new place!
Awesome video.I have been commuting to work on my bikes for twenty years, through all seasons, absolutely love it
Great to hear!
Thank you!
The bike path along the river here is amazing. In the rest of the city, I think my experience is similar to yours!
Very nice touring video.
The easiest to read closed captioning great too.
Like the bike and those aft-angled handlebars!
Glad you liked it!
As a fellow bike commuter (and as someone who doesn’t drive), this video made me smile. 😊
😀
Oh wow. I love my commute by bike as well but you have inspired me to stop on the way in and have a coffee in the park!
Yes! ☕️🏞️
Been enjoying watching your videos from Oregon. I've recently gotten back to commuting around town on bicycles. It's been a blast and a lot of fun. I really appreciate how you emphasize: ☕+🚴=🙂. Cheers to another lovely video!
Your maths adds up. Thank you!
A little flower in the rim brake is a nice little touch.
So cute, right?
what a great video! love your passion for your hobby/lifestyle. i don't even bike myself but you've inspired me to want to try. beautiful footage of seoul korea too.
Thank you!
Awesome video, amazing shots, good editing and loved the voice over also, a video who puts you in the mood 😎 And yeah Seoul is great, been there a bit in 2018 I liked it, biked a bit too.
Glad you liked it!
I love bike commuting for work as well, my journey here in Mexico is not as scenic but I enjoy it a lot
Good to hear. I’m sure there are still things to enjoy on your commute.
Love the tip of getting a second hand bike. It's important to have bicycle being affordable for everyone!
My suggestions of future videos:
- I'd love to see your process of planning a trip to the countryside.
Bikefarmer youtube.com/@bkefrmr?si=LR8215uGZ2M2sWkJ has lots of video about doing up sweet used bikes.
Thanks for all the suggestions!
Really enjoyed that. Thanks 😊 I am just starting to customize an older mountain bike. I am older so I need the lower gears to get up the hills!!
Enjoy! I also need plenty of low gears 👍🏻
You maybe older than some, but you’re younger than some others. Keep riding and enjoying 👏
@@davidsaxby5400 thanks 😊
I work from home and I still ride 5-20miles each morning rain or shine. I treat it as my commute. I try to run most errands on my bike as well. My day is always better when I get a ride in.
Yes! Even working from home, you've got to get a ride in.
Have been busy building my Homer Hilsen. Can't wait to commute to work as well.
Going to be such a sweet bike!
I love commuting on my Brompton. Nice to ride and convenient to tuck under the desk at work.
Nice video content. Ive just discovered your channel 👍🏼
Brompton’s are great commuter bikes. My brother’s commute in London is part riding and part on the train. Great to be able to take his bike on the train easily.
Good to see so many others commuting by bike!
Thanks for this simple video!
Glad you liked it!
Well, now I need to visit Seoul and ride a bike there. Looks absolutely lovely. Cheers!
You should!
I get sad when my bike's not waiting outside after work too! Rainy day yesterday but today is another nice riding day 🌞
Enjoy!
Hi Marcus, I think your videos are fantastic! I too find myself brining coffee or tea on bike commutes.
Thank you. Certainly adds to the enjoyment.
It’s like that here in the summer. 35c and humidity in the 90s. Definitely need a change of clothes then!
Love this, my guy! Your vibes are on point. Keep pedaling and stay gold ⚡️
Thank you! Will do!
