Dude, I know it was just a passing remark, but that "climate change kinda terrifies me" was so refreshing to hear. I live in Australia where we're heading towards summer, and the weather is absolute chaos this year. I've been thinking about climate change almost constantly, and the fact that most people just seem to ignore it makes the feeling so much worse. If we're going to overcome this I think we need to start being really honest with ourselves and each other about how we're feeling. Thank you for doing that publicly ❤it might seem insignificant to you but I genuinely think it's an important step towards collective action.
It is scary and I feel like we are sleepwalking into disaster. We can all do small things, that when added up can make a difference but ultimately, we need to expect more from our governments. Riding bikes, at least helps distract from the impending doom!
Your videos are shot in a gorgeous way that I can't quite describe. I relieve my homesickness through your videos. I used to live in Gangdong-gu in Seoul.
I fell out of the loop with the videos lately, the last one I watched was the Tokyo one, now I have a sort of "Season 2" of Probably Riding to watch, I couldn't be more happy, great timing since I bought my first bike as a restoration project, and im excited to ride it 😊😊😊
Thank you for this Sunday morning video. planning a ride this afternoon with a friend. Loaning him my 1990s steel road bike with flat/sweep back bars for today’s ride
I actually live 25 miles away from Rivendell Bicycles, but never heard of them until I ran into your channel this year. I wish I had. I moved into my own place 10 years ago and started looking for a bike. Had bike shops in 10 miles radius and they were all Trek, Specialized, etc. Nothing wrong with those, but I had wanted a bike with kickstand and sweptback bar. And none of the bike shops had those. They are all drop bars, straight bars. It boggles the mind. And most of them spoke and treat cycling in way of sports. While the bike I had wanted would have been like a Riv Platypus or such.
@@probablyriding Even drivers seem a lot more... calm. Maybe it's just by chance in this video, but I don't see cars doing 50 MPH through city streets or hear constant honking. Seems like there's a lot more respect for others.
I lived in both Seoul and Boston. Seoul has 9,110,000 more people than Boston. Calm is the last word I would use to describe Seoul. The drivers are easily more frantic than Boston largely due to the lax driver’s education programs in Korea. It seems calm because this is Sunday morning and the city infrastructure is well organized. Commuted on my bike over 15 years in Seoul and got doored by cars twice. Not bad considering the miles I put in during that time I guess.
Junho's "wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man" impression was spot on 😂 A cortado in a mug in this type of weather is glorious. The Probably Riding bingo card has to happen 😊 Hope everyone is having a good Sunday 💚🚲
Oh, damn! I don't use insta much. I probably should, you've got some glorious photos on there 😍 I've just checked it out, that's amazing! I thought we were just being hypothetical in the comments on your previous video, but it seems that bingo card has been up for 2 months already 😅 great work by "about a bicycle" 👏 "Casual yet inspirational message" is so right 😊
Sadly, the Gyeongui-Jungang Line once allowed bicycles on work days outside peak commuting hours, no more. Was great to bypass the heavily trafficked portions of the bike paths and get out in the country. The rail to trail portions out to Yangpyong was one of my favorites. Where I live, the gingko trees are beautiful right now, with a golden carpet of fallen leaves cushioning the path. For riding on the metro, a great hack I learned from a Korean cyclist is to secure brakes with heavy rubber bands when there's no way to affix the bike. Now, I carry some with me to pass on the favor he did for me.
@probablyriding Hadn't seen those before; they look quite useful for all sorts of things, and for me, especially securing the front wheel to the downtube.
11:46 I have a similar Bianchi “Special” in that color. Beautiful bike, rides so smooth. Would definitely love to switch from drops to swept bars like this one. Tell your friend much love from the US!
It’s snowing now where I am and my bike hasn’t been winterized yet. Living (or riding) vicariously through your videos, while also admittedly a little jealous 😅
Seeing lots of small wheeled bikes. Been watching for a little while since hearing about you on Path Less Pedaled inyrtviewing Bike Breath couple. In all cruisig round Seoul thought I'd spot a Moulton or two! I know there are some Moulton fans in Korea. Enjoying your trips, and videos!
Lots of Moultons and Brompton over here. That so cool about Path Less Pedalled and Bike Breath. I watch most of his videos but somehow missed that one!
Probably going about that speed most of the time which means all the people that pass me are breaking the limit. Never seen anyone fined or stopped. In Korea, rules are there as more of a guide haha
When I was there about a year ago, we walked around this area of Sookmyung women University, is it the same one? Next time I will have to do this on a bike. Walking is nice and all, walked a marathon every day for about 8 days, but would have covered so much more ground on bikes. It looked way colder last year, than in your videos :)
@probablyriding huh...yeah i get how that could be viewed as discriminatory...but ehhh...different systems for different countries...whatever works i guess🤘 By the way love your vlogs🔥❤️
Great video. I guess I feel obligated to mention that if you’re concerned about climate change, you should look into the impact of meat consumption on the environment! Going plant based is great option for reducing your impact

Should be called Gingko Yellow.

@ 20 miles over an hour and a half, gorgeous day for a mid November ride, felt like a stolen day.
Seoul looks absolutely beautiful in the autumn; thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching 👀
Your videos are always a pleasure to watch: something good in my day, thank you so much. I hope to visit again Korea in future.
Please do!

Love your videos and it's calming and peaceful vibe !
Thank you so much!
Seoul is exponentially more populous and geographically larger than where I live in Boston and yet it seems so much more laid back and quiet.
I think you can just find those laid back places by bike. There are plenty of busy and chaotic places which I tend to avoid.

Feels like yesterday when you were anticipating the hot, humid days of summer back in May. Great vid! Well-needed therapy here in the US . . . .
Feels like yesterday for me too!

Right on!
What a lovely Sunday vibe,to that ride your friend's crust bike is great love the pedals. 😊
Thanks!
Love seeing the seasons change in your videos this year.

Glad you enjoyed it

Nice. I use a Voile strap to hold the brake lever.
A toe strap round the bar and lever, works too. That’s my trike & cargobike hack.

Going to seoul on saturday! hope to bump into you in hbc!
Have a great time!
A Sunday doesn't get much better than this 💛
👌
Love a cortado! It feels extra special when it's not on the menu but they'll make it anyway - the sign of a good shop.
Totally agree!
11:46 I have a similar Bianchi “Special” in that color. Beautiful bike, rides so smooth. Would definitely love to switch from drops to swept bars like this one. Tell your friend much love from the US!
Very nice. I think it suits swept back bars.
love the fonts and colours of your text
Thanks 👍🏻
Would have loved a Eat Ride/probably riding vid! Nice he left you some goods
Was sad to not be able to meet up. Looks like he had a great time here though!
Same. I loved the little series of Seoul videos he has recently posted.
it's always a treat when i get a new probably riding video notification!
You're the best!
have a nice and peace day you're video makes me fun. One day, I'll have my own electric bike!
👍🏻
Nice bikes, your Rivendell has an unusual frame design. Like your videos, so different.
Glad you like them!

Great to meet you a few weeks back! Loving the video. Bike looks stunning. Let me know if you want to go for a pedal some time :D
Good to meet you too 👍🏻 Let’s ride for a coffee at HBC Coffee.
Thanks for posting 😊
Thanks for watching 👀
Oh man, red bean tayaki is my favorite, but I like the ubi as well. Did not realize Seoul was so hilly.
There are mountains everywhere within the city.
As always, great job Marcus. Curious, what handle bars are you using on this bike?
Nitto KT bars on my bike.
That was Jelly Tip Whittaker’s chocolate from NZ! He must’ve been a kiwi.. Ka Pai! 🇳🇿
Sure was. It’s a shame I couldn’t meet him while he was here. Check out his channel though.
14:27 BEDROCK CLOGS!!! They are the best bike shoes!!
So cool.
your content is sooooo fine, thank you!!
I appreciate that!
Do you ever break the 20 km/h speed limit ( 14:21 )? Do you get a fine if you get caught?
Probably going about that speed most of the time which means all the people that pass me are breaking the limit. Never seen anyone fined or stopped. In Korea, rules are there as more of a guide haha
Loved the video! I wonder how much kms you rode in the end, seems to be a lot 😅
Thanks! I don’t track my rides but probably about 40km.

When riding your bike, do you use a GoPro on a chest mount? Love your channel!!!
Insta 360 go 3 with magnetic pendant under my shirt.
I’m torn between the Evasion and Romanceur. Crust makes lovely bikes
Tough choice. I love the Pistachio rim brake Romanceur.
Great video, love the bike. What bags are on the bike? Thanks, Dave from Birmingham
My bike has the Swift Industries Zeitgeist, Ron’s Bikes Fanny and Hitch stem bag. The Crust has Ron’s Bikes Fabio’s Chest.
I don’t know if I’ve asked this before but does it snow in the winter in Seoul?
Yes. It mostly dry and very cold but most winters it snows quite heavily at least once.
That looks good
👍🏻
How on earth do you sleep sunday night after all the coffee?
Just two coffees!
@probablyriding Two sounds just right. Thanks for taking us along!
Awesome. What's the brand of your handlebars?
Nitto KT bars
@ Thanks. That looks comfortable.

What handlebars does Junho have on his crust?
CRUMB x MAGIC KT-800
Is there a trick so your grips don’t get all twisted?
I just put them on with alcohol and haven’t had a problem with them twisting.
Anyone in the comments knows what the handlebars are on the Susie. Simworks x Nitto ??
Nitto KT bar.
Whelp, gotta visit HBC. What's your on-the-move camera?
Insta 360 go3. Mixed feelings about the camera.
It's like an episode of Hammy Hamster narrated in an Irish accent from a bicycle
Don't know if this is good or bad.
@probablyriding sorry, I should have qualified a little more clearly. It's definitely good..... cozy, Sunday afternoon vibes par excellence
Jelly tip whittakers. Kia ora my fellow Kiwi
Crazy chocolate. I enjoyed it though.
Could you do a video about graffiti in Seoul?
Thanks for the idea.

A University that only women study at.

Yup. I’ve reduced meat consumption to one day a week.
@ Awesome! Glad to hear that. I think that’s a really practical perspective to have versus thinking of it as all-or-nothing plant based.
bikes are an after thought in Seoul just like north america, at least it's safer there that car infested american cities
Good leisure infrastructure. Not so good for regular daily life riding.
