ELECTRIC DINGHY for OFF GRID Life?! Installing ELCO Electric Outboard with ePropulsion Batteries
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- In this video, we are installing ELCO electric outboard motor with epropulsion batteries to our Highfield dinghy. Electric outboard motors are becoming increasingly popular as they believed to be more environmentally friendly and require less maintenance than traditional gasoline engines. Our main goal is to enjoy a quiet boating experience and reduce outboard maintenance.

Kodo's to the skipper.
Very knowledgeable.
Sophisticated Lady is solar as it can get,
Rick and you should hook up for some serious techno geek fun.
great channel . thank you for sharing.
I’m sorry to hear you have been demonetized. We appreciate the time and effort that you both put into your videos. I don’t understand why they have done this to your channel their must be a way to get them to reconsider.
Hello Debbie.
We have decided to keep going due to all the good people like yourself. With Patreon and other options YT is not the only way to keep making memories for others.
Thank you for your comment!
Capt W and Iana
We were going to send a search team to try to find out what happened to you guys. So happy your back on.
Wayne
Search team would have needed to ride out a few bad storms but we are back!
Thanks for keeping in touch
Capt W and Iana
Hey guys, I believe since your channel has been demonetized, you can play any music you want. 😂😂👍👍👍 Looking forward to the live stream. Hope I remember.
Clay
You are correct.
What happened with the boat you were doing a delivery that wasn’t in very good condition or you found a lot of problems with
Murray.
We spent 15 days fixing her and sailing from St Augustine. After finally arriving to Fort Lauderdale we jummped ship to come back to our own boat. The crew left 2 months later and sailed her to Panama and then to Costa Rico. Never got to complete the film session as the boat required 24/7 attention.
Thanks for asking.
Capt W and Iana.
Hi, what version of Starlink is that? I see that they have a marine version and an RV version as well as just a household one. I was thinking about the "RV" for my boat, well, until I saw that and it looks clean and sleek.
Best of luck to you both, I'm in Dania Beach, FL if you all ever want to meet a new person and grab a drink. I'm on a 1976 43ft Gulfstar Trawler that I'm fixing up.
Really like your videos and glad you are back(was a little worried) :)
Make it a terrific day!
Hello Tom
You are very close but we are on the way. The SL is higher dollar version of RV style. It does not have the pole or motor as the other models. It is also able to maintain signal on the move as long your under 10 mph. Has been working really well so far.
Thanks for the message.
Capt W and Iana
Not sure why you were demonitized. Copyright or something. They should have given you a warning.
YT is all about robotic systems. No one to talk with or ask why.
Turns out is a common thing.
Dawn sailing 🙂
Consider RUMBLE for a secondary posting platform. UA-cam is facing definite competition from them due to their less stringent restrictions.
Rumble is a great idea then maybe Elena could wear more bathing suits??? Lol
L I K E 👍👍👍👍👍 🤩🤩 🤩🤩🤩💯💥💯💥💯
Keep up the great videos
Thank you Bobby!
Happy you guys are back! As others have suggested you can always dual post here and on rumble. This way you can get some sort of recompense for the time and effort you put into everything.
Can we get a quick tour of the boat and how all of the systems are working. Show what worked and needs tweaking? I watched the live, but I'm a visual learner.
Thank you guys for coming back and teaching me things I didn't even know to ask or think about!
Chris
Happy you are with us!!!
That info coming soon.
Capt W and Iana
Glad you are "back." I was a lurker on your channel, enjoying your many boatyard travails and challenges. It seems that you haven't lost your edge now that you are on the water. Fair winds.
Sail Wild Rose.
Thanks for watching.
Capt W and Iana
Glad you are back each week. One of the best sailing, diy, engineering, fun channels out there.
Thank you.
Love the name Machine Mender.
@@DawnHunters thank you. We work on everything. Really enjoy your mechanical and problem solving abilities.
Great job
Thank you
Talk to expedition evans, they had the same problem with u tube and found who to talk to and have offered to help other u tubers.😊
Will do! Thank you Neal!
I need your life
I like your life
I am a new subscriber so I'm watching some of your prior videos. Your ELCO/eProp solution is significant. 14HP wow! So much more than my Spirit 1.0 Plus. I'll be interested to see how you like this as I get caught up with your adventures. I like the authenticity of your recordings. Nothing seems staged or made up or set up to "look good". I look forward to learning from you as I want to get more extensive in my coastal cruising, although I'm a power boater with a 53' Navigator. The best to both of you.
Rob
I LOVE the 53 Navigator! The pilot house door allows fresh air in and a fast way to the windless.
I still have passion for electric dingy. The Elco was too large and required super large battery power to make it usable for long range or speed. I am seriously considering getting 2 E-propulsion or 2 Torquido (spelling not sure) and mount to the stern. Have found in some high current locations between islands the one ev has just enough power to push the dingy but barely. Having 2 would double output plus provide a spare unit in emergency.
I also see that ev jet drives are coming out from New Zealand but does not look like they have any range. Only speed.
Thoughts from your research?
Capt W
@@DawnHunters Thanks for your reply and thanks for your Navigator comments. As to my "E" research, mine has been limited to small tenders as we wanted a small tender that we could use Weaver davits to mount to our swim deck. I got a 9' Achilles that I can flip on its side for traveling and to stay out of the water. Also, we figured we would mainly use the tender for short travels when at mooring or anchor and to take our Corgi to potty. So, I only looked at single-unit lower power units. The Spirit 1.0 Plus seemed to be the most highly reviewed and I got a sense there was decent runtime. Also, the Spirit is easy to move if you separate the power pack from the lower unit. I pick it up and install the middle of this month so I have no personal data yet. I don't want to carry gasoline as all of my engines are diesel. I know what you mean about some of the bleeding edge units coming out.
I thought you had to be a good sailor to sail a yacht, turns out you just have to be an electrical engineer
Life is full of surprises
Can someone please tell me why UA-cam is doing this lately?
They can make money even if they dont pay.
But cant stop good people.
👍🏻👍🏻
Good job!
❤❤❤❤❤❤
excited to see you back. looking foward to you future adventures.
Did the engine that stranded you on the beach get repaired? Thanks Yana and William...
Hello
Yes we were able to get all the water from the gas, cleaned the lines, replaced impeller, cleaned out the shells from water intake and got her back running.
Thanks for watching!!
Also what where the plates that you were installing on your sailboat. I am sailing qualified but have never seen plates installed over port or topside windows. Hope to have a boat and sailing partner someday.
So happy to you too back. You too are so much fun.
😊 thank you
It's funny sailing with dawn 😃
Each is not boring for sure!
@@DawnHunters yes hmmmm
👍😎
Thank you

You my friend come to Pakistan
UA-cam acting like a monopoly. Time I contacted my congressperson.
They are and will be part of the media railroad. One day obsolete but for now is about all we have.
Ii hope you haven't been demonetized because of Ianas birth place but I wouldn't be surprised
If that's the case then that is a disgraceful thing to do
That could be all possible today based on media bias and control but seems some non-human makes these decisions and no one to even talk to.
A money making machine but only real platform to share adventures.
What the hell is this issues with youtube? That is bull shit.
Yes but we will continue to do content and not let this end bringing entertainment to all of you!!!
Capt W and Iana
Yes, YT are doing this to everyone it seems.
Google not making enough profit? I don't think so. I think we are seeing yet another example of "greed is good " or to put that another way, the debauched face of capitalism. I have no problem with regulated capitalism but left to its own nature it becomes a ravenous rampaging Beast. Google need to be cut down to size and I could name 💯 more but not here. This sort of extortionate practice
really makes my blood boil !
So cool glad to see you at the Sunday lineup
Hey BARRY!!!
Happy to see you here
Capt W and Iana
Screw UA-cam, did you ever think about switching over to Rumble. From what I understand you can still show your content at both Rumble and youtube. Anyway, glad to catch your video yuotube never does notify me when you've published new videos. (bernie)
Hey Bernie!!!
Happy to see you here. We will look at other options but for now have so many good folks here we will focus on YT.
Thank you as always.
