Thank you for sharing all of your experience with us. It would seem overwhelming trying to figure it all out otherwise. I also love that unlike other prepping videos you are positive and uplifting rather than teaching from fear, you come from a community mindset. Thank you for being a teacher of lost knowledge. I believe we are all just doing our best to learn what has been lost. God bless your family💚😇
I am so glad to hear that your mom, and grandmother, will be moving to Alaska! I love your storage system. Enjoy Aaron's cooking session so much. He made sure we could see what he was doing. Great job on everything in the video!!! God bless you all!

Nice to see team work . Thank you both. . So miss my helper hard to believe he's been gone for 15 years it amazing how one still misses these sort of things .
Hi Jessica, Aaron and sweet family! Your family will be growing soon with more loved ones, that’s wonderful. I’m sure you are very glad Aaron helped with the food storage and shopping, that’s a task. I’m excited to see how your bacon turns out Aaron, sounds delicious. We always used a dry rub and hung it in the smokehouse to cure. That’s the only way I was ever taught, guess I’m old school 😂 It’s breakfast time that I’m watching this video Jessica, but I could eat Aaron’s tacos for breakfast, they look so good. I was always the grill/smoke person around here, but I love cooking out. I’m late watching your video, but I’ve been helping my brother. Been taking him for testing, they think he has lung cancer, I pray he doesn’t. I hope everyone is doing great and I pray you all have a blessed weekend.
We are smoking the bacon today! I was truly shocked at how the other turned out. I have issue with fat so I was surprised! Thank you for always watching you are very appreciated
Many of us don’t live in the beautiful state of ALASKA, but I myself love how informative you are Jessica I learn a lot watching your videos. And you too ERIN. THANK YOU AND YOUR FAMILY FOR SHARING YOUR LIFES IN ALASKA. 🙏🏻❤️
It’s just so nice to see you and Aaron working and doing together. I enjoy it! How exciting that your mom and grandmother are moving up in a month. ❤️ The meat looked absolutely delicious!
I absolutely love your channel!! But I love your family even more! Thank you for sharing so much of your family and day to day with us! God bless you all!
Hello Jessica and Aaron. We also buy in bulk and package up and date just like you. Your right it is very important to rotate. It’s a good feeling to be prepared. Nice haul at Costco. Thank you for sharing. Take care🇺🇸🥰
Jessica I have been slowly getting my long term storeage built up, thanks to you!! I have to tell you I'm in east central Minnesota and we have had a total of 7 inches YES only inches of snow all winter. However if we get all that they are predicting Sunday thru Tuesday we could get at the max 31 inches. I'm so hoping so, we have been in a severe drought here. Thanks for sharing! Hope you all have a great weekend
So nice your mom and grandma are moving up by you!! I bet you are really looking forward to that! Love how organized your long term storage is! Impressive!

Yum...the meal looked delicious. Thank you for taking us along on your shopping trip. You have such a great stock in your basement that's fantastic. I've been buying in bulk. i would say more so in the last few years, and it really does save in the long run.
i love that you showed a 50 pound bag of salt fills 5 gallons ! that’s the stuff that’s hard to figure out is what size containers. feel free to mention how much food fits in containers more
@@modernhomesteadalaska thank you because im starting my bulk pantry and knowing what size containers to get for however many pounds of dried food would help greatly !
I use a pricing gun to label stuff in my pantry with the purchase date to help with the inventory rotation. Works pretty good on stuff going into the freezer, too. I'm planning on hitting that new Costco Business Center next month when I start doing Costco runs again. I avoid Anchorage during the winter, so mid-Oct. thru mid-April. The main reason I clicked on this video was to see what was in the new costco, I wasn't ready to enjoy the content as much as I did! I am a fellow Alaskan who lives out in Wasilla, im used to spending 400 in a 3 bears on a cart full of stuff and a week goes by and I need to shop again. This has sold me a Costco membership.

A few years ago I bought an Avid Armor Vacuum Sealer. It was the best thing I purchased regarding kitchen appliances. I now only shop once a month, if that, going after sales of all sorts of food products. At first, I had my doubts about vacuum sealing certain kinds of beef and storing it in the freezer for a long time but learned that my fear of it not tasting well after a long time in the freezer was unfounded. When my brother came to visit me he informed me that he had a sealer too but one that sucks the air out of the bag and not a vacuum sealer like this one. When I showed him how it worked he also got one and uses it for long storage items now.
Hi Modern Homestead Alaska!!! My wife and I have recently come across your channel and love watching you both.. I did notice and wanted to mention, I’m not sure if you know this/or if anyone has told you.. but from what I saw in the video, you have exposed spray foam in your basement.. and exposed spray foam is really flammable..
